Silversun Pickups are incredible! My favorite thing about them is their consistency. Almost every song they make is fantastic, although some are definitely growers. The Royal We is my personal favorite by them. Great reaction!
@KungFuMunkeyz I second all of these recommendations, they are true gems. I'd add Royal We, Catch and Release, Sympatico, Don't Know Yet, and Sticks and Stones off their latest album
Love the Silversun Pickups!! I own 3 of their albums and listened to all 3 on repeat while driving cross country earlier this summer to keep me awake. All their songs are bangers
Man i forgot how much i love them. That whole album is amazing. Their first three albums were one of the few ive listened to from beginning to end loving every track
Oh, to have the energy and stamina of their drummer. SSP is a great band that does not get the recognition they deserve. They have a bunch of great songs.
Just saw them twice in 3 days - outstanding live. They have about 30 songs I really like. Maybe try “Growing Old is Getting Old”, “The Pit”, “It Doesn’t Really Matter Why”, “Catch and Release”. Thanks for reacting to them!

I was introduced to this band with their song Lazy Eye via Rockband on the Wii when my daughter was a kid! I'm not sure why I never checked out the rest of their music, but Lazy Eye is forever on my playlist! I love your channel, Polo ❤
Lazy Eye, Panic Switch, and Kissing Families are some of their biggest hits. I also love Ragamuffin for a more deep track. Seen these guys live a couple times now and they always put on a great show!
Was so lucky to see this band several times throughout the years. First time they opened for the band Wolfmother -- second time they opened for the band MUSE -- third time they headlined their own show at a small venue. They ALWAYS deliver!! Love this band!
Only discovered Silversun about a decade ago, but they quickly became one of my favorite bands. Instrumental and lyrical hooks you could catch a whale on. So unique, powerful, and meaningful.
I discovered this song thanks to a PS2 Tony Hawk video game. I was a teenager when I first heard it, and now I'm a grown adult and it's still in my playlist. Love it
This is actually nothing, you should listen to Panic Switch. That is the song, out of the ones they play live including Twinkles, that the drummer calls "tiring"
SSP are definitely heavily influenced by the Smashing Pumpkins, who were influenced by the Pixies, who also inspired Nirvana's sound. Other post punk / new wave / alt bands worth a listen are: Sisters of Mercy, The Cult, Jane's Addiction, The Cure, REM (first 7 albums), U2 (first 4 albums), The Sound, Joy Division, New Order, Screaming Trees, Garbage, Happy Mondays, The Call, The Verve, The Alarm, The Replacements, The The, Talk Talk, ... it goes on for days. The late 70s to early 90s was an incredible era for music.

@@chrisross-fd3fo Right on. Lanegan's voice was phenomenal. I also like his solo work. Should also mention Tad here. Agreed on the Pumpkins. There's a 1988 recording called from the Pulse that's pretty fascinating - very goth / new wave and interesting to see how they rapidly evolved into whatever they were. This setlist was also played in the Cabaret Metro where they kicked off that the same year. So glad to fond someone new reacting to my favor band! Chris is an amazing drummer and Nikki an amazing bassist, both of their talents are on full display in the song "Panic Switch", and same goes for "Simpatico" imo. Their break out hit was "Lazy Eye". You mention drinking, Silversun is a liquor/convience store they would frequent while working on music, hence the name. And singer Brian met bassist Nikki when he caught her stealing an adult beverage off the drink cart on the plane and the rest is history. Nikki was also the keyboardist in drummer Chris' band The Crooners, predating Silversun. And keyboardist Joe is, well just Joe. I don't really have a backstory to offer for him, other than he is a really good dude.
This band has made music that has given me so many sweet memories of my kids when they were little. I’d put their Carnavas album on the turn table and my 8 & 4 year old son & daughter would run around and dance in the family room singing along and having so much fun together. So many sweet memories of my kids. They are 26 & 22 now and we all still listen to Silversun Pickups all the time. They are amazing. You should check out The Bravery. I think you’d really like their song An Honest Mistake. It’s another fantastic song. Thanks for sharing your first experience with this band, with us, Polo😊
