I’m pretty sure my wife doesn’t appreciate my honest, authentic commentary 😂 Seriously though, Thankyou so much for your feedback. I’m still relatively new to this so it’s amazing to know people enjoy the videos.
@GWilliamsonModels You wing it like a champ, my friend. Err I mean you tube acquaintance 😂. Seriously though... what you have made looks absolutely top notch. You make it look so easy. And as for odd crumbs of cat poo...well other people often have used cat litter as scatter...so I guess you could get a combo going!
@@gs425 😂 cheers, the layouts slowly heading for completion, as the videos show, I’m modelling quite big sections every week, I’ve never had my layouts progress at this rate before! Things in my personal life are changing in September, but I’m going to try really hard to keep the regular upload going, I’ve got the next series planned out ready to go once Corris is completed, so we will see!
More great work really enjoying watching you build the layout, especially as I'm planning to build one. Oh even better I see you've joined the Railway Modellers Club, look forward to seeing some photos of your layout on there, cheers James
Hi George - love the video... brilliant! Pst... Conifers are grown in Plantations... so they would be in straight lines... this can be seen in some of the Corris photos... btw I think you have achieved the 'Look' :D
Great job. I chicken out and buy trees. Primo are fantastic. The ideas here are a nice balance - scratch building trees but with time saving hacks. Great job mate.
That’s the plan, I want to show that modelling can be enjoyed no matter how little time you can give it. Trees aren’t something I’ve ever really made, so it’s nice that they seem to have gone well
Hey do you mind is if I make a suggestion? Something that I have found that works for carving styrofoam and getting a nice realistic look is to use a drywall saw at 90° to the surface. Since the variety of teeth then makes a non uniform ( more realistic) look to the surface
Morning George. I too am modelling narrow gauge with the The Harland Light Railway and make videos as I love showing fellow modellers how to make scenery. However I really look forward to your videos as I love your self deprecating humour as well as you modelling skills. Do you ever appear in the videos yourself? Also Are you going to be showing your railway at any exhibitions when it is finished. It should be seen!! I will be at Warley with my fellow LocoLadies and my Magnorail Village and probably parts of the Harland Light Railway (but not he whole thing as it is too big for me to manage). Perhaps you will be there. Come and say hello.
Hi Carol, that’s great to hear, I haven’t come across your videos, but I’m now subscribed so count me in! Always nice to hear from another NG modeller! I did have the idea of showing it at the Corris exhibition in August, as it will be completed around that time, but I’m not sure on that one yet. As a whole, I don’t tend to get to exhibitions, so I’ll have to try and make the effort, hopefully we will bump into each other!
@@GWilliamsonModels have you ever written any articles for the magazines. I could introduce you to the editors of BRM and also Railway Modeller as I write articles for them regularly. I had an article about getting rid of your layout when you don’t want it anymore in Railway Modeller this month plus a video. It seems to have interested a lot of people.

Gorgeous!👍💜😊 In times past, what indigenous trees were in the area🤔 Oak et al? Can you remind me what type of foam you use and where it comes from please 👍💜✌️🤞😊
@@GWilliamsonModels I do not know either but yours fit the bill very well. BTW the foam I was referring to was the pink stuff used for the hillside🤞👍💜😉 Great - self-deprecating - commentary btw😊💜💜👍😄😄 I had my first airbrush disaster (experimenting with a new type of paint), since 1977 the other night, after successfully priming a model, I went on to top coat - with said new paint - some buffer stops (7mm). I thought: "If I was recording this it would be an hour of just bleep-outs". I've never seen paint plasticise so quickly even with thinner and retarder. I don't think I'm cut out to make YT videos therefore kudos to you!🙄💔😉🤣🤣😇
@@musoseven8218 sorry I meant to mention the foam, it’s foil covered insulation foam, the stuff you would use on a house. I was given it a few years ago after a friend finished their attic upgrade. Yes it doesn’t always go as planned - the airbrush is a common contributor to ‘deleted scenes’. The worst disaster I’ve had whilst doing these UA-cam videos was on one of the Corris wagons. I knocked a pot of liquid poly onto the bench, tidied it up, got a new pot out..then dropped the wagon into it! Obviously the wagon began to melt, but I let it dry off before I carried on the video!
@@GWilliamsonModels Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear about the wagon, that's the downside of such/solvents, I've done similar too, plus these days age, health and disabilities add to such, but worse happens at sea, so after I've ground my teeth a bit, I carry on (at least Im not trying to film it)🙄😄😄 Keep up the good work though, great modelling and enjoyable content👍🤞💜😊💜✌️
George: This dead leaf scatter of yours. If I were to make some using my wife’s blender to chop up the leaves, would I have to buy her a new blender afterwards, or does it clean up easily?
I’m sure if you cleaned it up, it should be an issue. Our blender came with two tops, so we have a ‘food’ one, and a ‘modelling’ one! I have seen some people have baked natural products in the oven first, which kills off the bacteria etc, but a good wash of the blender should see it good to go after
