My problem with VoicePlay is that at least half of new releases make me think "wow, this is definitely one of my favourites!" - without displacing anything else. So I now have a stupidly long list of favourites, of which this is one...

According to comments on other videos, Dovahzul is a name for dragon language - a language created specifically for the game. Dovahzul translates to "dragon voice".
Voiceplay does an amazing job of utilizing the "tools" they have - the various voices and vocal abilities of each artist.

VoicePlay have done songs where you'll hear multiple languages. Spanish comes up a few times. French has crept in... Eli sings in Korean in their Boybands in 5 Minutes, they also sing in Zulu in their Lion King Medley from Once Upon An Ever After, and Polynesian in their Moana Medley.

Talk about commitment! To learn the proper pronunciation for the dragon chant! So freakin amazing! I believe it's pronounced "Dovah zuul" Great reaction! And they are all character types from the game. And THIS is why they are the Theater Kids of Acapella! Best. Group. EVER! I love Omar. He has a voice like a crystal bell. So pure, clear, and light.

The dedication and respect they give to whatever song they preform is out of this world. Ceasar even managed to wear full chainmail, 😮
You should check out Daddy Sang Base, Queen in 5 min or Boy Bands in 5 Min. I will warn you that there will be a slightly different line up with Earl (a founding member of VP, who left for personal reasons) and J None (who was ft in both Valhalla Calling and Nothing Else Matters, he left to serve in the Navy but promised to return)
If you want to check out another Geoff's solo (still not sure if you clone yourself and then sing together if it's still considered a solo 🤔) I'd recommend Blackbird, Ghost Riders in the Sky, or Far Over Misty Mountains Cold
Any song you choose you'll enjoy. Totally loved you're reactions

Omar is amazing, always glad to see him in a VoicePlay video. He competed on The Voice this year, and many VP fans were torn between wanting him to win and thinking that if he didn't he might possibly sign on as a permanent member. Unfortunately, neither of those things ended up happening. The VP patrons got a sneak peek of their latest video, just a snippet, but I have the feeling it's going to be another epic video from them. Watch for it to be released in May.
Hoist the Colors is spectacular another great choice. Then, I would suggest their cover of Warriors, the only other video they have done that features some violin playing, this time not only by Layne but by J None also. That one will also let you get a glimpse of Earl, a longtime member of the group (he met Layne and Geoff in Middle School). And that could lead you into exploring Queen in Five Minutes, another awesome video, and their Boy Bands in Five Minutes is fun and superbly sung with a lot more choreography then is usually featured in a VP video.

Most of Voiceplay's video's are shot on a stage at Pattycake studio's that is co-owned by Layne Stein, the beatboxer, Eli does the lighting and visuals where needed.

It’s never to late to dive into Skyrim, lol. The game has held up amazingly well, particularly if you’re on PC and mod it a bit.
The Fos Ro Dah where you see that effect appear to come out if their mouth? It’s a “shout”, which is a sort of spell. Fos Ro Dah means force balance push. It hits your target with a very strong invisible shove. Slam them into a wall once or twice and it’ll slow them down. It’s kind of a thing for people to Fos Ra Doh baddies off a cliff for the fun of it.
Dovah is dragon. Dovahkin is dragonborn. That’s a non dragon with special dragon powers. (Your character)
The part they sing in Dovah is the main theme. It’s sung in Dovah. when you are going into the game.
I have played the game once or twice…lol…any q’s let me know.
Also: thank you for noticing Eli. His power and breath is so unnoticed.I swear he did a whole verse of Nothing Else Matters in one breath.
Geoff Castellucci, Layne Stein, Eli Jacobson and the one you are forgetting is Cesar DeLaRosa.
And this was filmed on set at Pattycake Productions. It is a set.
Yes, Hoist The Colors is good. It’s from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
But if you want something more modern….Nothing Else Matters. The Metallica song. They owned it. 😊

Another one you'll want to listen to is "hoist the colors", and you may enjoy their video of the halo theme song(no lyrics). Voice Play always puts so much into their videos and are backed by patreon members, which in my opinion is great because it allows more freedom for creativity, the downside is they are definitly underated and not as well know as the other two main a capella groups. I enjoyed your enthusiasm for this video and hope your continue and branch out into some of the other genres voiceplay covers.😊✌

Definately check out "Hoist the Colours" - which is still my favorite. It has the WOW factor - to the point that reactors were "broken." One threw off his headphones and got up, forgetting he was in his boxers, and another couldn't speak and just walk off without saying anything. So many were brought speechless. Also, Geoff has his own channel - check out "The Rains of Castamere" (Game of Thrones) and "Misty Mountains Cold," plus his fantasic version of "Sound of Silence."

Dovahzul is the language of the dragons in Skyrim, specifically the words themselves can do things, speaking fire truly in the language of the dragons will create fire, you can grant yourself speed, call thunder down from the skies etc. In the universe of Skyrim only a person born once in a long time, called the Dragonborn, is able to quickly learn the voice and speak like a dragon themselves, in Skyrim the Dragonborn is the player themselves.

Not viking in this case, it's from Skyrim as you say. Elves and associated characters. Omar was in Superstitious, Dream On, among others. It said on the subtitle Dovahzuk, the Dragon language. They often do this , in Moana they sing in some language from the film. VoicePlay are all about authenticity. Cesar sometimes sings in Spanish. Hear it in We're Good. for instance.

Todd howard the game director for skyrim reached out to the game's writter and composer and demanded that they write a song for the main theme of the game that should be a remix of the prior game's theme but in a nordic tone sung by an army of vyking like worriors in a fictional language spoken by the game's ancient dragons but the twist is that it should still rhyme and make sence when translated back to english. This was monumentus task for them but they made an entire motherfreaking language that is learnable and makes perfect sence, there is an entire wiki page for the words alone. When the song is translated it makes sence and rhymes as asked, the version they sung is the one the bards sing in game but in the same tone of vyking army chorus as the main theme, different form the game's tavern bards that give it a more neutral and calm tone to it. In the game's lore, this song is the song of the dragonborn, the prophecised hero that'll end the hunger of the world eater Alduin(Big bad dragon game's antagonist who was banished to the future, our present game time). The lyrics remained through history but the song's melody is lost to time. It is believed that the version that plays when you reach the ending part of the game before facing alduin is the original one but it is not. That one is the one the heros of old sing in the hall of valor in sovengard(valhalla in the TES universe). The song that plays when a dragon attacks you, is called the one they fear, tho it's lyrics are the same as the main theme, this means it is not a boss theme but the player's theme as the dragonborn is the only mortal who can kill another dragon as they them selves possess the soul of a dragon and can thus speak their tong dovahzul naturaly with no effort and breath fire like them. FUS ROH DAH, means force move push when the three words of power are spoken by the player it sends a massive pushing force sending enemies flying backwards. MOST SATISFYING FEELING EVER, to use fus roh dah on a group of pesky bandits and send them off a cliff as your levl 50 dragon born has much bigger dragons to face than some lowly bandits, your a demigod at this point in the game. Skyrim, is the ultimate Vyking worriror power fantacy in Any RPG or game ever. I love it!

Less Viking, more Medieval Cathedral this time! How about going to New Orleans next? J None came back on his first leave from the Navy and played Dr. Facilier of the Princess and the Frog. Dovahzul isn't really a fully fleshed out language, but nor is it "just some cool sounding words." It's pretty much just a cipher of English, with little unique grammar. However, it does have a pretty extensive vocabulary and the potential to create compound words by putting together the meaningful syllables.

Normal humans can learn too but single word can tear you apart and learning single word can take 10 years or more. Songs dragon language part telling about Dragonborn is last hope, every skyrim people pray for his/her goodness. Alduin (Elder and strongest dragon all among others and called “World eater”) Going to destroy everthing. Skyrims most badass evils even fear dragonborn and only thing can stop alduin is dragonborn blah blah. Game have really powerfull and deep lore.
