Yesterday we (my husband Iranian and me Mexican) cook Nabe yesterday it was good, but Today I will try your recipe for sure will be amazing! Thank you Francis and Chef!!!
Wonderful! It's like a perfect cookbook, only better because it shows you how to prepare it! I love how she cooks. It's so.. graceful, too. Like she's making art out of her food.
hot pots seriously keep you warm... i had a hot pot last month and my god... it was freezing cold yet i was sweating only wearing a hooded sweatshirt walking home... its soooo goooodddd
I love this dish. Had it many times while I was living in Japan. These videos are so helpful. I am very much a visual learner. We get to see the process from start to finish. So that great for me.
I made a dashi stock with shiitake mushrooms last year. The broth was wonderful! But my mother told be she would rather just eat premade veg stock. I still can't belive she said that. She can't cook so it must be that. I'm not kidding either, she mixes the wrong herbs togather and either adds two much of both or not enough and waters everything down. Theres no way she'd eat this unless I completely altered the recipe to her liking. Ugh. Thanks you for the vid! Love the show!
Yay I've been waiting for you to update! That looks absolutely delicious. Always looking forward to watching your videos, watching you cook, attempting your recipes and slightly succeeding/horribly failing at them. Can't wait for the next show!
The doggy looked so excited when you started cutting the fish! lol! Normally he's so good at just sitting and watching, but I guess yummy fish was just too much for him! =)
Made it! It was incredibly delicious, and not as hard as it looks! My carrots may not have looked as decorative, since they were just chopped, but any mistakes I made were from starting late and not paying enough attention and they didn't ruin anything. If you're afraid to make it because it looks too complicated, just give yourself a little more time than you think you'll need and give it a try anyway. Even if it's not perfect, it'll still taste good, and it's practice to do better next time.
We might be trying this for our Christmas sleepover that we are having next month. We are having a sleepover just three girls(Well women since we are all adults lol) and watching anime and doing a gift exchange.
wow!!! love it! I love how she always cuts everything soo perfectly! and handles everything with such grace! it's so beautiful to watch :) great recipe guys! and lovely video. Love love love watching your videos :)
Chef san. your narrater's accent is so distinctive but I totally understand what he is staying. No problem. After all, Francis is the one talking, right? Your cooking shows are so great, everyday Japanese food. Thank you. Arigatou gozaimasu. I am Japanese.
Because its removing the impurities in the stock that she is creating, she made a Dashi stock but than added more things to it like the veggies and the meats and when those simmer for awhile the impurities come out and float on the top. You want to take those out so that you have a nice smooth tasting stock to work with or in this case to eat at the end. :)
Francis, I have been following your videos for awhile. They are very helpful, and have been instrumental in teaching me techniques. Btw, I like the blouse your owner is wearing in this video, she looks very pretty!
it looks great! would be good during winter time eating it with friends! Mmmmm i need to look for a electric pot to make it on my low coffee table! :D looks delicious! thank you for posting!

Wow, can't believe this is from 10 years ago.

今あらためて見かえしても、本当にいいなぁ。実際に本当においしく作れるし、この切り方とか下ごしらえの丁寧さが、この取り合わせのセンスとかが、本当にいいなぁと思います。

Very funny when fish parts come up and the dog slightly becoming excited.
