I have a 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 GT with a quickshifter and man its a beast a real muscle bike (the Diavel is more of a cross sportnaked and cruiser motorcycle) and the shaft drive no maintenance was a big factor of why i bought the Rocket.
Just bought a 2023 Rocket 3R last Friday. Hummed and hawed about both… both fascinated me.. but the Rocket spoke to me. The look, the finish, the ride. All subjective of course but, To me the Rocket is an absolute masterpiece. The Diavel is wicked… but not for me. What a great time to be alive when we have these two bikes to choose between!
Triumph Rocket 3R- Quick Shifter not available????? I’ll have to tell my triumph dealer to take my quick shifter off my Rocket- a quick shifter isn’t available
Yes odd that isn't it, I had my unavailable quick shifter fitted to my Rocket 3 GT Triple Black at its first service. Very surprisingly the unavailable quick change of gears works surprisingly well. The sound of the engine and exhaust to accompany the unavailable quick gear changes, is so enthralling it's simply unavailable and unobtainable on any other bike 😂 As for which one would I choose or recommend? Well it would have to be " The world's largest capacity production motorcycle" of coarse, especially if fitted with the unavailable quick shifter. There quite simply is no comparison with engineering perfection.
I'm not sure how many people would cross-shop these. I've owned both the earlier gen Rocket and just bought a Rocket 3. I had several Diavels since there inception and just sold my xDiavel S. Once rolling and up in the RPM band the Diavel is quicker. OTOH a serious amount of pull is just a twist of the throttle away regardless of what gear you are in, or what speed you are going once above about 20 mph. I can ride for hours and be comfortable on the Rocket. Not so much on the Diavel. If you want to rip up the back roads like a sport bike, the Diavel is your ride. If you want to go out, ride for hours, enjoy the sights, grab a big handful of throttle from time to time, the Rocket 3 is your ride. Looks are subjective but I think they blew it with the new Diavel. There is no cohesive look to it. I think the xDiavel looks much better. The Rocket looks amazing in person. The advice I'd give anyone buying a Rocket is to get TuneECU, download a good tune, add a slip-on exhaust, and go with a 240/50 R16 (slightly taller) rear tire . For about a $1,000 investment, you'll increase rear wheel HP by about 20% (so about 180 at the wheel), increase top speed, save 20 pounds, and sharpen up the handling quite a bit. I paid a small fortune for the exhaust on my Ducati V4S streetfighter and didn't get near the gains I did just from the Penner map. Triumph limits the stock throttle opening to a max of 60% no matter what mode you are in. Just the tune alone can add 25hp or more to the Rocket. The slip-on is more about weight savings than power but you'll get a few HP. Oh yeah, don't forget the unavailable quick shifter. Even if you do nothing else, buy it.
This is the type of comment I want to see, I really love how the triumph looks but since I blew my budget with my new gen 3 hayabusa I have to wait 2 or 3 years till I can get a triumph as well, I was unsure about what I like more, I think I still am, the ducati 1260s sounds way way better with that V8-like roar but the triumph looks better, I still haven't seen a good sounding triumph online, hopefully I can pick a rocket 3 GT with low mileage in a couple of years since I'm not willing to trade my hayabusa
@@cloudcata8300 Glad to help. If you get the Rocket GT, you might want to swap for the mid pegs from the R if you live on crappy roads. Then you can get your butt off the seat. The forward controls mean hard bumps just go up your spine. It was the reason I got rid of my XDiavel. It was far worse than the Rocket as it had less suspension travel and my spine got crushed on some bad bumps.
@@cloudcata8300 I went with the Verex. It was from Australia. I think it was about $700 shipped to the US. Very nicely made. Removing the cat gets rid of a ton of heat. The cat box is right under you butt and on a hot day, at a stop, it cooks you. The Verex comes with a DB killer (baffle) installed. It isn't overly loud at idle and up to 3k, above that it is louder but not obnoxiously so. TBH, at first I hated it with the baffle in, as it was a bit raspy. After about 400 miles, the sound started to change and I am good with it now. Easy to take out if you want but keeping it quieter when exiting my neighborhood keeps everyone friendlier. Verex says it doesn't mute the volume at higher rpms but mostly effective up to about 3k. This means I can cruise at fairly high speeds without it being super loud. I've owned a lot of bikes, and the Rocket is one of my favorites. Not because it is the fastest, or best at anything, it is just a cool bike to ride and quick enough to be fun.
Sorry but a negative on the Diavel is the Cruise Control could be more intuitive??? Uhhh ... one button to turn it on. One button to set it. Then press up to speed up and down to slow down. Activate any break or activate the master on/off and it cancels. Not sure how to make that more intuitive. Just seems like a really odd thing to complaint about is all. That and I'd say the Diavel V4 really ins't the best on fuel economy to be honest. So maybe swap the cruise control to the positive as it's super simple and move the fuel economy to a negative. :)
What’s the point of a 2500cc engine when it is capped and being monstrously heavy. Similar torque can be achieved from a 1500 i guess? Is it of any use though? Genuinely asking
Difference between a diavel and a streetfighter ? With a v4 now the latter looks a better choice for the price ! And something that is not mentionned is the way the rocket is finished vs the diavel. No comparison !
I heard "Quick shifter not available" for the R3. Nonsense! My 2021 has a beautiful quick shifter which is smooth as silk! Get your facts straight please!
Where you getting the quick shifter ( not available ) information from for the rocket ?? 😂🤦♂️🤦♂️ if anyone wants to see an actual real world review of these two with all of the relevant correct information watch the lamb chops rides review.... far better & more comprehensive than this ..

I just purchased the Diavel. It's an amazing ride! And sex appeal galore! This is one sweet ride!
The Rocket 3 is my dream bike. The wheelbase alone is crazy. Both are amazingly powerful, but not very nimble. I will stick with my MT07 for now.

😂😂😂
Both masterpieces. But I just got my Diavel V4 on Sunday (my third Diavel), and it's top notch. Hope I can add a Rocket 3 to the lineup someday!
What's the service cost and at what mileage tho, on that Ducati?

A difficult choice! Thanks for sharing.

Rocket just TOO HEAVY to compete with Diavel, unless heavy is what you want (some guys do).
Yes, Rocket has available quick shifter.
changing frequently tires? easy 13t kms, sporty ride, TC always off. have 33t km on mine, no catal, werkes sound, tuned. just enjoyment🤩👌
This tells us nothing beyond the obvious or what can be read in the spec sheet
