My mother passed away the day before my birthday several years ago. The following year, I took a Disney cruise the week of my birthday. I would wake up early, get a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise from the adult only deck. So quiet with no one else around, and made me feel like she was with me. It requires getting up early, but the experience is worth the effort.
I absolutely love roaming the ship late at night or early in the morning! My wife isn’t a fan of waking up too early, but I don’t mind since I have limited time on the ship. Just listening to the music and taking in how amazing the ship is just the best thing.
We have done sit down lunch on embarkation day, and there is nothing like having a Sail Away Sundae while looking out the window waiting to leave. It’s so peaceful. Just a great moment to take a deep breath and relax.
We did the Midship Detective Agency game on the Dream-loved it! Also we were lucky enough to score Churro Mickey waffles on the morning of our first port day. We usually do eat breakfast in the main dining room nearly every morning though (we find it is so much more relaxing and we love getting pineapple juice with our food). On the first day of our last cruise, we went to main dining for lunch instead of Cabanas and it was great (it was raining therefore swimming and an outdoor sail away party was out, so we had a nice chill lunch instead). Thankfully that was the only time it rained, so we did plenty of fun outdoor activities after that.
My son was turning 2 the day after we debarked our last cruise and we loved deck 4. He loved the freedom he had to just be able to run from one end to the other as there was no one there. Hoping he will be able to do the same on the Treasure at the end of January!
This came out just in time for me to take notes for our Dream cruise in December! We don’t normally stay up late but we did on a previous cruise to watch the new Avatar movie. The movie was so good so we had no problem staying awake 😂 Aulani also gives out celebration buttons. When we were there in May, I received a birthday button and when we had lunch that day, they noticed my button and brought BOTH of us a little birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday. So magical! We plan to get a day pass for the rainforest room on the day of our anniversary while we’re in Nassau. This would be perfect since we don’t plan on getting off the ship. We had sit down embarkation day lunch for the first time when we were on the Magic with you. Because of the weather, they directed us to Rapunzel’s. We really enjoyed it and that’s what we do now. We have the remaining days to eat at Cabanas which we love but would also like to try a sit down breakfast on the next cruise as long as it’s not the day that they’re offering Mickey Churros at Cabanas!

Buttons, buttons, buttons! I'm always surprised at how many people don't know about this. And this goes for any property. We were at Aulani in 2022 and asked about buttons at the front desk where you check in. They gave each of us several buttons for different things. And it's free! If you're staying there or just there for a dinner reservation, ask about the buttons.
I would also add staying on the ship when you are in port. If I've been to a port before and am not interested in doing an excursion, I would rather stay on the ship and enjoy the lower crowds. I plan on doing the rainforest room on a port day during my next cruise.
Not sure I would do an animation class. I am the worst artist. If they have stick figure art, I may be there lol! I cannot wait until I can finally go on a Disney cruise!!!
We are going on the Fantasy next month so I have been going out at work to do stairs to prep for the cruise. I told my husband that now I know why they put all the beautiful art on the landings of the ship steps...they give the adults an excuse to rest for a moment. LOL
I need to make a list and post it in my cabin next time. Somehow we forgot to check out the Rainforest Room on our cruise. 🤦♀️ There’s so much to see and do it’s easy to miss some of these great things. Great video guys!

Another great video !!! You left out very important details about about fireworks from your Veranda. First, the fireworks are only offered on Pirate Night on cruises 4 days or longer in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. (No fireworks on 3 night cruises or cruises from Europe or Alaska) Also, as this is very important, the fireworks are shot exclusively from the Starboard side (right side of the ship). In order to view the fireworks from your Veranda, you need to book a cabin on Starboard side

When we went on our Disney cruise in January on the Wonder, we were told that you couldn’t be on your balcony for the fireworks due to safety. Is it different ships or different countries have different rules?
This is correct and it doesn’t differ based on ship and country! DCL does not allow guests to be on their verandahs during the fireworks. Everybody with a verandah room (even on the port side) receives a message in the app from guest services asking them to stay off the verandah and to bring all personal belongings inside.

We did the Art of the Theme tour on the Magic in March. My husband and I loved it and can’t wait to take the tour on the Fantasy in January.
