    Thank you for watching! Our names are Justin and Lacey Zachman. Our journey began in 2018 when we started a travel/lifestyle vlog. Our aim was to capture and preserve memories from various life events. This is the origin of the name "Z Roll," inspired by "B-Roll," a term rooted in the early days of film editing. Back then, editors incorporated supplementary footage, or B-roll, alongside the main content. As a result, we named our UA-cam Channel "Our Z Roll," symbolizing the B-roll of our life. Given that Zachman is our last name, "Our Z Roll" holds special significance!

    We have been on five Disney cruises, each on one of the ships. Our first was the Fantasy and my kids were 8 and 14. Neither of them wanted anything to do with the kids club. They were both very shy, and it just didn’t appeal. I can assure you we still had a magical time, as evidenced by us later going on 4 more cruises. Trust me. If the age ranges aren’t what you are looking for, don’t sweat it. If you are looking to make memories and be with your family while relaxing and having fun, the ages at the kids club will be the least of your worries. There is so much to experience and explore, you will not miss it.

    We went on the magic in June with an 11 yo and definitely liked the overlap and that she could go to either. I think she did enjoy the freedom of the Edge more though. But, it was very comforting sending her in with our other 3 kids that first time. But she was more of a babysitter in there than a participant though. When I picked up the 4 kids that night the attendant looked slightly overwhelmed when they had to gather 4 kids for us and then relieved when they realized who the oldest was and that she would be a huge help! 🤣 It's not a deal breaker for me if we were to sail again right now, but I can understand why people are upset and think that they should have a better phase out policy instead of such an abrupt announcement.

    We were just on the Wish in November. She PRETTY! You can see your charges on the app instead of going down to guest services. (Unless you’re making a payment, of course) You’re going to have a wonderful time!!

    I agree I think the Treasure will become my favorite ship because of the Haunted Mansion Lounge. I have been on the Wish twice and going again this year twice, it is a great ship for families but the outdoor adult area is not great. I mostly travel solo plus the lack of midship elevators can be crazy. I will be anxious to hear your opinion of the Wish. My favorite ship is the Fantasy! The Wonder was my 1st cruise in 2000. Thanks for all you do! Enjoy your cruise!

    A Passport Book is a very good idea. If you have an emergency that someone (doesn't matter on age) needs to be airlifted or board a plane that is not on United States land (ie: Bahama islands) Passport book covers Land, Water & Air... birth certificate covers land & water only.

    I’ve learned so much about cruising through you guys, thank you! We’ll be doing our second cruise in March, we’ve only done the Wonder because we’re local to San Diego and it’s easier for us but can’t wait to be able to explore other ships!

    I am taking my daughter on a cruise with my brother/sil and best friend with her family. There will be 5 kids total and my daughter will be turning 11, 10 days before we embark. So the other 4 kids will be together in the kids club where my daughter (who is super shy and pretty young for her age) will have to go alone to the next club up. I foresee a lot of the cruise she will just want to hang out with me vs being alone. I’m super sad for her not to spend time with our friends who she only gets to see once a year or be with her best cousin friend who is just 2 months younger than her. I’m hoping since it’s so close to her birthday that they will let her go in with the rest of our group… fingers crossed!

    You can give little kids some sour green apples and it helps seasickness.

    I hope you love the Wish! My mom and I have been on the Wish twice, our first sailing was the same day you set sail on the Magic with the Legg Life viewer cruise. That’s actually how we found you, the Leggs, the Millers, and For Love of the Mouse! Been watching all of you ever since. So far the only ship we’ve been on is the Wish. Getting ready to sail on the Dream in March for a Marvel day at sea cruise. Hoping to run into you guys at WDW after your cruise. I’m there every weekend (I’m a teacher so I can only do weekends).

    We will be going on the Dream soon! We have never cruised before and I hope we love it as much as you all do! Thanks for the tips!
    Question: What is the best area to sit for the shows? Is the front row too close?
    We have a larger party (9). Could you give some insight about dining together across the board? Cabanas, rotational, grab and go... Is there larger tables in each area for eating?

    Hyatt at MCO also has a luggage retrieval service for $10. You go straight to the check in, give them your luggage retrieval tags, and they bring it to your room.

    I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old. The 3 year old is in pull-ups. I know both of my kids are going to want to use the Oceaneer's Club. Will we have problems using the Oceaneer's Club with the 3 year old in pull ups? I'm sure our kids won't be there more than a couple hours at a time but that is the one thing that is stressing me out. I'm afraid she won't be full potty trained by March.

    Do you have tip to how to manage going to port exactly on time of boarding? I mean they stress don’t even come in parking lot before you time of boarding. I’m stressing how to manage 45 min from airport to port Canaveral and be exactly on time at boarding not before. Any advice would be great.

    Hey! Thank you for sharing all your wonderful tips! We (my family and my sister IL and her family) have booked our first cruise. We are excited to sail on the Wish! :D At the time of sailing, our kiddos will be 8 and 13, and my niece will be 13 as well. They are all very close and have the same interests. I'm worried that my 8yr old will be alone and feel left out (He's a big gamer like the other two). Do they have exceptions about not splitting up the kiddos? What do you suggest?

    Just found your channel. We have been to WDW 6 times but are going on our first Disney cruise and need a little advice. We are leaving on the Dream out of Port Everglades on 5/1/24 and are looking for hotel recommendations for the night prior. There are LOTS of hotels available but are looking for something with queen size beds, in the $175-200/ night range, with airport pickup. Reading a lot of reviews on line for different ones but they are all over the place for the same hotel so can’t really rely on them.Wondering if either you guys have any insight? Thanks for your help and watching your videos have helped answer a lot of our questions as first time cruisers, keep up the great,informative videos 👍

    Heading on the Dream this spring for our first Disney Cruise. Question for y'all: do you have to reserve time slots for kids clubs? I saw info about that for nursery, but not for bigger kids? Thanks!

    • @OurZRoll
      @OurZRoll  6 місяців тому

      Yay! How exciting! Great question. No, you don't have to reserve time slots for the older kids, only for the Small World Nursery.

    We’re one of the families who are super upset about the age change. We have 11 and 9 yr old girls and our 11 is so upset she loves kids club and our 9 doesn’t really want to go there anymore. We were going to make sure to go on the newer ships before our oldest turned 13 but now there’s no point. We have also discussed canceling our upcoming cruise this year still an option. I think splitting the oceanner club and lab 3-7 and 8-12 for a couple hours a day would be much better than pushing the 11/12 out and putting the 3/4 in their own groups (they can’t leave that group to wonder around from what is being said by passengers) I encourage emailing Disney cruise line about this! We have and hopefully with enough negative feedback they will come up with something better than this !

    • @user-rk2df9ku5c
      @user-rk2df9ku5c 6 місяців тому

      I agree with this! I honestly feel like my 11 year old will have more fun in the oceaneer club and lab than my 4 year old. 10 through 12 still love to play and use their imagination. Disney is leaning too much into the “pre teen” scene. If they are going to separate the older kids I wish they would give them a better space than just a “hang out” space. I also wonder how many true teenagers are using the club for the oldest kids. I highly doubt it’s used as much as the oceaneer club.

  • @cherylengseth219
    @cherylengseth219 6 місяців тому

    I think it makes sense to split up the kids more by age, just wish they could make the Edge a bit more fun. It is missing the Disney magic that is in the Oceaneer Lab.

    My tween daughter is one who doesn’t enjoy being around kids under age 10 anymore, so she specifically enjoys any type of kid activity that is for the bigger kids only. We are taking our first Disney cruise on the Dream soon and she is looking forward to going to the Edge club and 2nd dining seating service. For her, the kid club policy change is a positive one, but I know our situation is a little more unique (she doesn’t have any younger siblings and has never been to the Oceaneer Club) however, I understand why other parents/families are not happy about the new age policy. I am curious to see if Disney sticks to this new policy or makes changes again in the future.

    😬nervous about a just turned 11, young minded fella not being able to hang with the youngers. I totally get it- he’s the size of a 14 yr old. I’m an educator so I can see both sides. We will make the best of it and adjust if needed.
    Question- we have late dining on an Alaska cruise coming from the Midwest… Will it be too late for early to bed type people? Will we adjust? It’s an Alaska cruise so we want to see all the sites to the fullest.

    I think bumping 11 up to edge is good but I think you could still let 9 and 10s be that flex age that could do both. 12 is too old for the kids club. I do think 9 and 10 can be tweenie or kids club age depending on the kid and then there would be a little sibling flexability.

    my daughter is 10 and will be 11 when we cruise in June, and my twin girls are 6 and will be 7. My 11 year old cried when I told her, she is devastated. I've researched a bit about it and saw that the older kids will/may have opportunities to experience the activities, however the younger kids will be put into a different area. So they can't even have some time together. Be interesting to see what the reality will be on the ship in June. Whether staff will have leeway to use discretion depending on circumstances. I'd also like to know how the staff manage bratish behaviour, is it tolerated leading to an awful time for the rest of the kids or is it called out and dealt with. I wonder if this may be part of the reason for the split.

    We’ve been on the Fantasy & Magic and we’re going on the Wonder in April for a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to San Diego. We’re also booked on the Dream in December for our 2nd Merrytime Cruise. We’re excited to return to Castaway Cay and to experience Lighthouse Point for the first time. After these cruises, we need to sail on the Wish & Treasure! Not really looking forward to the Wish because of the themed dining. Frozen would be ok but I’m not into Marvel. Really excited to sail on the Treasure!
