@SkawarsXE Pat's brother gave an update a while ago! Pat is sober and works as a programmer developing software for community medical clinics. Still sober, very happy, and (as his brother put it) still a nerd about anarchism. But he seems legitimately happy
He gave me a place to stay once when I was homeless and traveling. Pretty much saved my stupid 17 yr old self lol. It was so kind even tho I was kinda bein a bitch due to not eating and feelin horrible. Thanks Pat and Sam. --- Tammy
Man there was footage of Church Hymn from this same show kicking round once upon a time. Had epic chord inversions in the final chorus just like in this.
Been loving all the new and of course the old stuff sort of a new fan here I wish I could’ve heard sooner you guys are REAL legends and people don’t even know!! 22 now 23 next month love from Nevada!
“In my dreams I am dirty, broke, beautiful and free. My hands clenched in a face in a smile after hitchin too many miles” I will forever love finding these versions of Pat singing
Crazy that I'm back watching this at a completely different time in my life. After conversations with Pat on the couch in Rigby's basement. After getting out of the scene. After getting clean and gaining hope, I'm glad you're doing well too Pat. I'll always love you, man. Hope to see you soon. I'll try to reach out and I'm sorry that I haven't.
do you know how to reach him like even a mailing address i love his music and really want to pick his brain and find more on the story about the band i just here stories from some people where i live in mass about him and the band
People spend way too much time on UA-cam arguing about whether music is "good" or not. I don't even know what it means for a song to be good, but this is original, and angry, and raw, and, if nothing else honest. I think Pat is one of the better musicians out there, and I think his music is beautiful, but I'm not about to jump down the throat of someone who says otherwise.
As someone that is 45 grand in debt for learning music. I've decided there is no good or bad music only music that makes you feel something and music that doesn't
This video changed my life in middle school. Good to see it’s still here. If you’re reading this, I hope you are well; some distant stranger on the internet cares about you.
i ended up homeless after dropping out of HS at 17 . Before i knew it i was catching a freight train outta philly and traveled for a few months meeting other street kids. One of them introduced me to johnny and something in me changed. The emotions he put into his songs is are hard to put into words. In the end, after a few years of struggle, went to college got a job and a place. it’s all works out if you want bad enough
broo I finally found this song !!!!! I used to know this guy steve and he always sang this song when we smoked and he always talked about this guy . aye johnny you know a guy named steve? he has long hair and looks like a hippie haha
I'm 32 now I still feel like I want to scream this song while my buddy plays loudly with an acoustic guitar out on the deck Most of us have alcohol issues, some still trying to balance being sober, I just want to be 19 again
Never, ever forget Lovesongs for the Apocalypse. Even if we're not in a place where we want to cause anarchy and burn down buildings and shit, this is real, authentic, good, anthemic music that is fucking amazing. This needs to live on. This is what music is about. It captures a very raw emotion in a bottle and it's 10/10.
The punk scene is a phase in life when you’re young, desperate and hopeless. Everyone gets older and the teen anxiet subsides. It leaves us reminiscing about good people and memories. That is what life is memories.
being homeless you just get this pain in your stomach everyday not knowing where to go not knowing where your gonna sleep its a sad life ive lived and ill forever be depressed because of it
“We aren’t revolutionaries... but we ARE THE REVOLUTION!” Hits home. I’m working-class, new to the scene of being in a revolution but not new to the horrid absurdity of the world. That’s why I’m fighting, to try getting people a better life to live. I’ll happily sacrifice myself to push towards this dream and I know others in this revolution will too.
Here's the thing, nothing will ever stop having flaws, eliminating flaws can create new ones. Just be good, don't be perfect. This music is more meaningful and powerful then you can comprehend, so you're attacking it. Nice going.
always insane seeing old footage of one of my biggest inspirations, and all the comments talking a bout knowing him personally. I wasnt around for this part of life ten years ago, so I hope I can find the right people and build a free life now
wow i dont even remember how i found this song ... im from ireland :P but i have it on my computer and thats what counts ... fucking love it it brings back a lot of memories of the summer playing this on a long day in the sun camping
dont let that depress you forever. i know that pain but usually not from being homeless and not knowing whats next. ive lived it for a few years and was happyier than being stuck somewhere, minus my liver. but the road gives my veins a break
Depends how you define/notice passion. Pay attention to the lyrics and the message and the energy. Pat is pure passion. Maybe you can't relate to this music, but it's sincere shit. It's fucking authentic. It's not perfect, and it doesn't try to be, and that's what makes it so great. Life exists because of imperfection and sincerely unfolding your all your flaws and what you're passionate about in life in a neat package the way he does is fucking bueatiful and takes talent and guts.
Watching stuff like this at 2am is sometimes the only stuff that keeps me alive
You’re not the only one
feel ya here buddy

how you doing now?
I don't think words can describe how happy I would be seeing him play live.
