  • How to grill shrimp. Shrimp sandwich recipe.
    In this video, I show you how to make a easy and delicious "Grilled Shrimp" Po-Boy! Traditionally, shrimp po-boys in the New Orleans, and surrounding areas, including where I live on the Gulf Coast, the shrimp po-boy normally consist of fried shrimp, but times are changing, and if you want a great alternative to the fried shrimp version, then give this a go, because it is amazingly delicious! The Creole mustard used in the Cajun Aioli may not be available in your area, but you can buy it from Amazon.com by clicking here: amzn.to/1CW4IkQ
    The Video Gear I use:
    Main Camera_1: Canon HF G40 amzn.to/2bSgk

    FOR OTHER INGREDIENTS
    French bread 12
    Lettuce 1 Pound
    Tomatoes 4 , sliced
    Directions
    GETTING READY
    1. Mix together kosher salt, cayenne pepper, pepper, granulated garlic, granulated onion, white pepper, oregano, thyme and cracked black pepper together to prepare cajun seasoning. Set it aside.
    MAKING
    2. In a separate bowl, take mayonnaise, creole mustard, lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon cajun seasoning, diced garlic, hot sauce and green onion. Mix to combine everything well. Put a saran wrap over the bowl and place the aioli in the refrigerator until required.
    3. Prepare the marinade by mixing together olive oil, 1/2 cup cajun seasoning, lemon juice, honey and mix everything well. Dump the shrimp in the marinade and mix it through. Let it sit it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
    4. Fire the grill dome for cooking. Set the temperature to 450 F.
    5. Skewer the shrimp leaving a little gap in between each shrimp. Season the shrimp with the cajun seasoning.
    6. Place the shrimp on the grill dome and let them grill. Flip and grill them on both sides. Set the shrimps on the side.
    7. Grill the french bread, spread the aioli on the bread. Layer with lettuce and tomatoes. Top with the grilled shrimp. Put the other half of the bread on top. Press it down.

    I'm not sure I would have had any shrimp left to make a poboy after pulling them from the grill. They'd all have been eaten! Looked fantastic Rus!!!

      Thanks Jim! The Gulf of Mexico produces some of the best shrimp in the world, and I would not live anywhere else because of the great seafood we have here. Those are actually small compared to what I can get, but the price is through the roof right now, along with everything else. I paid over $50 for just 6 pounds of these, and they are caught right offshore. Go figure :/ Thanks for watching brother :)

    wow Rus that looks great! I think the grill shrimp looks better that the fried shrimp. not that i would pass on the fried one!

      Thanks Michael! The grilled shrimp sure does look good, and is very good, but I won't pass up a good fried po' boy either, lol

    You definitely have the Crustacean Station goin' on there Rus! Those are gorgeous shrimp heads, too bad they had to go, very nice char on the rest! I always get head on if I trust the source...but usually that means a vacation near the Gulf.
    Love your use use of local ingredients, though I always feel somehow that yours are better than mine ;0 And that goes for any cooking video ;) I also notice that sammich is nearly bigger than your head, so be careful there, buddy :)

      Lol Randy and thanks brother! Those were some big sandwiches, and I had no problem eating the whole thing ;) I'm really fortunate to live where some of the best seafood in the world thrives, but that oil incident several years back really worried me, but hopefully all is good, as they tell us it is, lol! Take care Randy ;)

      @SmokyRibsBBQ  9 років тому

      I use 4 different cameras in a shoot. Same ones that I have been using for awhile, but I did decide to use the Nikon more in this shoot on the close ups. That is probably the difference you are seeing.

    The Cajun seasoning is a very nice blend. I will definitely be using it. And I wanna try the aioli too. Do you like that aioli more than the Frog Bone Remoulade that you used in the fried shrimp Po' Boy video?

    • @SmokyRibsBBQ
      @SmokyRibsBBQ  9 років тому

      Thanks Chris! The aioli is delicious, but so is the Frog Bone remoulade. Two different animals all together. I really love remoulade on fried seafood, and this aioli would work well on that too, but it was killer on the grilled shrimp. Thanks for watching brother :)
