I met issac and had drinks with him a few times and hes truly a character on and off cam, esp when he gets a few shots in him. Hes a hell of a drinking partner. Ima chef myself and he loves showing fellow chefs a great time in new orleans!!
I've followed your chicken gumbo recipe 4 or 5 times and it has become a family favorite. This will be the next thing I try. Looks delicious! Thank you Chef! You are entertaining and a great teacher also. Can't wait!
I met chef issac 1 month ago in New Orleans, he is a real humble, cool guy drove from Austin to his restaurant, man let me tell you it was so delicious 🤤 I swear!!!!
Omg this looks delicious ! I love po boys and have been craving one for 2 years ! I'm in the spirit now and motivated to make it myself now ! And he his hilarious ! He has that new Orleans accent !
Watched this video a couple days ago, and revisited it just now to make my first completely successful Mayo. Thanks for the pro tip! Instead of vinegar, I did lemon juice. All the other measurements are the same (4 egg yolks is great), much to the chagrin of natural instinct to just throw shit in till it feels right. If you want to make perfect mayo for the first time, watch this; do this.
I love Issac! He needs his own cooking show on the Food Network! So charismatic! So much energy and personality! Totally down to earth southern boy nature right there. Awesome dude
He's literally not. These videos are largely improvised. Andrew Rea's videos use, at the very least, multiple voice takes. They're carefully planned out. If you've seen the Toups + Rea video on Binging with Babish, you'll see that Rea is actually not all that good at improvising, and actually not all that comfortable with Toups' potentially un-pc jokes. Very different video styles, very different people.
I remember when I first saw Isaac on an Action Bronson episode of Fuck That's Delicious where Action Bronson ate at his restaurant and I remember thinking, Isaac is a STAR. He's so badass and authentic and real and he's everything I love about the food world. It's so amazing to finally see Isaac getting these amazing features. He truly deserves all the spotlight!!
OMGosh! I'm SOOO hungry! Cool dude. Cool video. I think even I can remember the steps and the information about breading and cooking the shrimp is exactly what I need. Awesome! Thanks! 👍
Can’t wait for my one year anniversary for me and my girl. We live just outside of New Orleans and I’m surprising her with a little trip to toups meatery 🤤
Never a fan of raw oysters. BUT, I love a fried oyster po boy, dressed! I miss creole and Cajun food so much. These videos help when I'm jonesing for it.
I live in Texas, and every cajun restaurant I go to here looks at me kinda weird because I ALWAYS ask for a shrimp and oyster. I feel vindicated for my choices.
I visited New Orleans in 2003 - on a small budget. One day, I followed a policeman at lunch time. He went to a shop where no tourist would go. Best Po'Boys ever!
I think he snorts Cajun seasoning just to get his day started
Who doesn't?._.
No doubts here
Do you not?

Toups seems like a good dude and is genuinely entertaining. Please bring him back for more Cajun dishes.
