Dark shrimp with pale mid-dorsal line is Caridina cf. malaya, there are no wild cherry shrimps (Neocaridina) in the Philippines. Berried female at 7:35

Catch at 8:50 is an amazing collection of at least 3 species. Best one is that Tiger striped Caridina. Looks similar or related species to Caridina mariae, but might be either an endemic or a new species.

Amazing dwarf shrimps! Thank you for posting. I hope the quarry or sewage doesn’t pollute the stream.

Shrimp at 1:15 is the Short-nosed Shrimp (Caridina longirostris) with berried female at 3:15 and at 5:20 (definitely NOT ghost shrimps)

I see no plants in the slow moving stream only rock with algea growth are there a lot of leafs in the water...do you have a place you keep them in and what do you feed them or better a video on how you keep them and thanks for the video..

The stream do have less leaf or bio materials on it. The shrimps love the algae. I keep them in a planted aquarium.

There was a reason why the Hong Kong location was kept a secret for so many years when the hobby just started let’s hope it doesn’t impact that stream to much

I agree, but also we should make sure the site is protected, and a biological survey needs to check which species of Caridina is present. Still a lot of undescribed species in the Philippines

Gusto ko kumuha at pang breed sa tank until mapa dami ko at pa layain ko sa stream para ma preserve sila.

Di mo cla ma breed sa tank unless mrunong ka mg simulate ng brackish environment. Pg pisa ng mnga itlog kailang nla brackish water para lumaki saka bago cla bbalik upstream para mg breed ulit.

@@siryos3392 I think both might be Caridina. We don’t have records of wild Neocaridina in the Philippines. Did you check the maxilliped and swimmerets to differentiate the two genera.
