Did you know, I recently wrote the most comprehensive book ever written about keeping, feeding and breeding Cherry Shrimp. Check it out here Neocaridina-shrimp-handbook.com
I made one of these mistakes. I bought 12 on eBay for cheap, and one died after another. I bought another 6 from a local store (far better quality) and they're thriving! Very red and plenty of babies.
I think the stress they endure from transport does it. I bought 12 bloody mary shrimps online and after about a month I lost 6. A lot less than when I bought them from my local shop. I feel shrimps bought from elsewhere and put in the tank don't live as long as shrimps bred in our tanks as there's no stress of that transport and being grown in our tank perimeters
I used rainwater, I live outside the city, by the river...it's crystal clear and tasted good - did I make mistake #6? I can buy RO water - is that best? I'm new as you probably can tell
Recently found your channel and i love how you sit down and get straight to the point, and the way you explain things just clicks so well with my brain. Subbed!
I got lucky, I live in north eastern Pennsylvania and I have well water. I bought 20 neo caradina shrimp on a whim, and my water parameters were perfect. Now that I found and joined your channel, I have become a more educated shrimp owner. My shrimp population have quadrupled and the colors are amazing!😊
Number 3. I went through so many shrimp and almost gave up until I found a good local breeder. That and a few kind words from Richard kept me trying! I’m currently enjoying a healthy growing colony!
I've kept fish for decades but fairly new to shrimp keeping. I have a couple of Amanos and a bamboo shrimp that has to be at least three years old now in an established aquarium. Recently I bought some cherry shrimp and lost quite a few of them within days. Then last week I spotted some tiny babies and I already have another female with eggs, so they have obviously acclimatised to my water conditions.
As an experiment, I like meeting the water parameters in the middle for caridina and neos and they both breed in the same tank so far! The breeder I buy from does this as well and has some of the best shrimp ive ever seen
I've gone from having high quality neos in my tank to now using junk shrimp. They look more natural eventually and are great for fish tanks. I then built specific tanks for high-quality pure colour shrimp, these tanks are small and easy to store.
Just great knowledge to be found, I live in a hard water zone so now I know which type of shrimp I'd target. It'll take me a good while to set up my tank and plants, but hopefully it will be an Eden for shrimp in a month or two!
The passion in this video had me sit down and pay attention. I'm wanting to get into shrimp. I currently have fairy shrimp and brine shrimp as like "starter shrimp". I did notice they do much better when the tank has some ickiness to it. Thank you for this video. Especially the comment about being patient. That was my struggle even with what I have now. Lol
I use a hang on filter with my microfaunia, scud, and shimp aquariums. Use your great aunts nylon stockings and a small rubber band. I use the same method with new fry. It works for me, it might not work for everyone.
I have a sugar kettle fountain outside in Louisiana that was setup a year ago. Got 30 variety shrimp this spring to add to it. I now have a full ecosystem and my shrimp are still thriving after a month outdoors. Hoping they will reproduce!
A local fish market near my school sells culled shrimps in bulk, at a cheap price. Sometimes a medium-high grade shrimp got mixed in that bulk. I got some blue dream, fire red, orange/red/carbon rili, and medium grade green jades for $14 (±50 shrimps, mixed)
50 shrimps for 15 is an absolute steal. the pet store i work at is the only place that has the cheapest shrimp in our area,,,, at like $7-9 dollars CAD for EACH shrimp, even cherries. embarassing.

Hi Richard, im interested in learning as much as I can about genetics, making a great line of blue jellies. Does your book cover this in detail? I got their care down perfectly. Im looking for fully in depth breeding/color/cull info. Ty
Great video, thank you Richard! May I ask do you clean your shrimp tanks? My tank is a 57 litre, in it I have 8 Amano, 4 red cherry, 2 blue cherry, 2 crystals, a bamboo and a lone Gary Lange Rainbow fish…he was an egg on some wood. It’s been set up and running for about 6/7 months now, I have a sponge filter in there, but the substrate does get dirty, and advice in cleaning, as I’m worried about the amount of water that would come out, I then have to replace. And they’re not breeding either. And I was wondering if that was why they wasn’t, down to me trying to clean the tank? Thank you❤
As a large home breeder in Midwest US with a business, i love what you said about local purchases where you shoot the shit with people for an hour. it's wonderful, and i 100% agree. Love the video!
I have my blue dream shrimp and ramshorn in already it’s only a two week old aquarium they seem great packed with plants and sponge filter in a 5.5 gallon my parameters are good but I just got a nitrite spike to 1ppm I’m hoping this is ok and drops I’m very new to this and trying not to make mistakes I also have been using beneficial bacteria to jump start everything
At 1ppm, your shrimp and snails will probably be fine, but check your filtration is working and consider adding live plants if you don’t already have some. They will absorb the nitrite 🤞🏻
Yes packed with Java fern Anubis moss red root floaters and a few more I’m going to clean the filter with some tank water it’s the only thing I haven’t done in two weeks thanks Richard hope this helps once again love the videos you make

Unfortunately, here in Texas where I live my pH is 10.6. I usually add some distilled water to it to bring it down to around 6-7 for my standard fish tank they are thriving amazingly. Unfortunately, my beta lived in a 3 gal. And just died from ick. I scrubbed and cleaned everything and let it to dry out in the sun and the tank has been sitting in my home for about a week. I plan on using this for my cherry shrimp. You suggest using 7 to 8 pH. I can definitely do that by adding the distilled water to the tank. Would it be possible for them to live in the 10.6 pH? Hard water is not fun to deal with when it comes to fish or anything else. Thank you kindly for putting out all your videos. I’ve been watching them back to back. You have quite a lot of information and I appreciate that so much. If you could respond to me regarding my question that would be great thanks again.
On adding shrimp to the tank. For an example currently I already own a matured tank. Inside got fish , gravel but no plants yet. If my fish RIP when his day come. I never fully wash the tanks means I never fully clean the gravel. I only just change the water let's say 50 percent with aged water of course. Can I straight put the shrimp ? Or in fact I no need actually need to change the water as the tank is already matured before with fish.
I have a pleco/mystery snail tank and everything was great but i was just missing one thing and that was shrimp. So the other day i went to a fish store and bought a bunch of cherry shrimp. They really add a lot of life and beautiful color to the tank. I've been doing tons of research to make sure they thrive
Clicked on this video to make sure i was on the right track while my tank is cycling, and im shocked to learn im already doing everything right! Thank you, this video was very helpful and reassuring for me
i have been doing research on shrimp because i’m interested in starting a shrimp tank, and all everyone mentions is hard vs soft water, but no one explains what it is & how to achieve either or
I tried neo shrimp 2pcs and i dunno that it was a pair and now the female have babies on my 10 gallon 😅. My tank setup inspired from fatherfish, im newbie to the hobby i just try and exploring different things yet, by the way am from exotic hobby from Ts, scorps, and reptiles now i add aquatics and am enjoying it, thank you. I learn new things watching your video new subs. Here ❤❤ love from 🇵🇭.
Your videos have super helpful and encouraging! I have 2 tanks set up which I'm not super happy with how they turned out aestetically but are breeding and multiplying like crazy right now so I've just left the tanks be. But thanks for all the knowledge and enthusiasm for the hobby! It really is uplifting!
Hi Richard i wrote to you earlier about some of my shrimp duying every week, if it was normal, i didnt tell that i also had assasin snails in the tank. i was looking on the internet for information and on several sites i saw that assasin snail could kill life shrimp, i have removed the snails and i hadnt have a dead shrimp since. maybe it was the snails maybe something else, i just thought i would let you know :) Thanks for your awesome videos.
Thanks for the update. I do keep Assassin Snails in with some of my shrimp colonies, and I haven't noticed any problems. However, the main thing is your shrimp have stopped dying. All the best. Richard
Honestly, it depends on the make up of your well water. In theory, it will be fine, but you will need to know if it is 'hard' or 'soft' and what the pH is 👍🏻
I went to the pet store and I got some duckweed. A couple of shrimp came with the duck wheat now I have hundreds of shrimp in a tank and I don’t even know what kind they are. Can you help me?
I just started my Shrimp Journey. Not looking to sell / breed any Shrimp as my husband and I live in an apartment BUT it is fun. I started this sort of by accident. Our betta fish passed away, and went to get Goldfish. Couldn't keep it in the tank we had. Asked what we COULD keep. Guy said: Micro Shrimp, Micro Fish or a betta. So. Shrimp it was. We started with just 2. and we are addicted. But I am definitely learning a lot, so thank you for all these videos. We sadly did loose 1, but we seem to have a the remaining 3 as lively as ever. I am looking to feed them stuff like veggies, I have some cucumber and Spinach. Blanching is still best for these? And I've seen lots of videos of Obviously don't leave uneaten food and blanch their food. I just want to do what's best for these little guys.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to the hobby. I never have much luck with cucumber. If you blanch the spinach for a minute or two the shrimp will find it easier to eat. If you have access to stinging nettles, they will go crazy for them too 👍🏻
I had to do a major water change in my FF tank because I blew a hole in the sand barrier, and it seeped out soil until I was able to get the hole filled. I went into panic mode and started siphoning the dark water out. I have a siphon that goes right outside my front door into the bushes. AFTER this was all said and done, my new water started a bloom right away. I saw my little neons stressing out and PANIC mode 2.0 set in. So, I ran around grabbing all the filter cartridges from my other tanks filters and pitchers of cycled water from my other tanks too, THEN grabbed my neon's and put them in a little 10-gallon emergency tank I keep going... for emergencies.... long story short... my water calmed down almost immediately, and my neons survived. I have other fish in that tank but my neons are little stress balls. All my other fish are fine. Because that tank has plants, I was wondering, are there certain plants that are stronger nitrite eaters than others? And can too many plants harm the water for the fish? And why would a bloom like that happen so sudden and go away just as quick? Thank you.
Wow! That’s a great comment. Thanks for sharing. To answer your questions in order, typically the faster a plant grows the more nitrates they absorb. No, I don’t believe you can have too many plants, although you could argue a tank rammed full of plants with no surface movement could lead to a fatal drop in oxygen levels overnight (but it’s unlikely you’d encounter that) And as for a bloom, tanks typically settle back down given time. I assume by the FF tanks you mean dirt capped with sand? These tanks are great (and I am a Father Fish fan) however problems like this can occur when the substrate is disturbed 😕
Is it a bad idea to have assassin snails in the same tank as shrimp ? I've seen alot of different points of view but you sir seem like one of the worlds top shrimp experts. Let me know
I had a 55g with dark high quality blue dreams, endler mutts, and assassin snails - the shrimp colony started at 6 and I started with 2 snails. The shrimp colony never stopped growing, even after 2 years when I had to shut down my tank, both invert populations had rocketed into the 100s and there were easily 50+ endler mutts, and that's while I had been selling babies from all 3 species as fast as I could. When I got rid of the substrate, there were 100s of assassin snails that had been chilling in the substrate (aqua solum humate, sand, and a bit of natural river gravel mixed in was good for them to burrow). There were no signs that the assassin snails predated on anything living, but whenever a guppy died, I just let it sink to the bottom and it would be completely consumed in 4-6 hours or less. I also purposely overfed the guppies because the assassin snails seemed to love the scraps. The tank was pretty planted up, so the shrimp didn't have any trouble finding a place to hide and eat
I grabbed a gallon of pond water & some muck from the bottom & within a week of adding that to my new, 9 gallon tank with 24/7 lighting, the tank has exploded with life for some shrimp (green neocaridina), a nerite & a betta coming this week. ^^;
Solid move ! I love the super natural people can do. Most won’t. I have a super natural planted community tank 9.5g nano fish. Brownish super clear water. Shrimp and every one is booming ❤ father fish started my aquarium
I try and do each and every method I see ph gh kh everything but I know my tap water pH level but after changing my water my shrimps always die I did not understand what's happening here always I change the water always die 2 to 3 I have charry shrimps please help
Just found your channel and all I can say is WOW. I can watch you all day. Love your stuff. It's so full of information and entertaining. Thank you for such a awesome channel as I'm a new aquascaper. And I was interested in checking out shrimp; and you've convinced me!
12:52 bruh. several weeks for some skrimps? nah dawg. just take some plants or moss from an established tank, throw in some alder cones and a leaf or smthn and a sprits of aquarium fertilizer. let it sit still for a day and boom, biofilm galore. i literally did this 3 days ago. did a 30% water change to take out some of the tannins and added the shrimp. they are livin it up.
Now I am confused, I put 10 Blue velvet neocaridina shrimp in my tank 12 month ago, They have been and still are breeding well, Lots of babys and females berried atm, My water parameters are always nearly the same even after water changes I do 30% per week, My PH is 6.2, GH is 8 KH is 3 water temp is 72deg. But now you say my water is more suitable for caridina not neos, I am at a loss, lol
No, your water is fine for Neos, they are very adaptable. Caradina will not survive in your water with high gh and any kh. Caradina need ph 5.5 -6.5 gh 5 and 0kh. Thay can not handle kh

I'm an unplanned parent of shrimp. I have a 29-gallon tank with female bettas, neons, white clouds, aquatic frogs, bristle nosed plecos and albino cory cats. I have a highly planted tank with Amazon swords, anacharis, ludwigia, hornwort and crypts. I bought some frogbit and red root floaters to supplement the floaters I already had and a week later I noticed 2 bamboo shrimp and a rili shrimp (the red roots came from a store shrimp tank). My wife wanted shrimp for some time, but the bettas concerned me. After not seeing a problem I bought some yellow and cherry shrimp. Because it was fully cycled, has driftwood to shelter in and I overfed to make sure the frogs got enough food, they seem to be doing well a couple weeks in.
Is rainwater any good? I live in suburbia in a low population city. Its crystal clear and tastes good Not sure why my comments dont show on this channel...like looking for my shrimp. Sorry if repeated
Ok yt, I'm subbed and have all notifications clicked but haven't gotten notifications from this channel for months! Honestly thought the channel was on a break out something. 😡
Santa Monica was so 😎 🤙. And great advice on intake filter. I have a filter waterfall, and I was cleaning out the sponge in it, and I had several baby shrimp there.
I’m successfully breeding pest snails in my shrimp tank 🥴But my cherry shrimp are still alive, only got them a few days ago. I put a bowl of expensive shrimp food in the tank, about 4-5 different brands and products…the only one eating it is the snails 😆 The shrimp look happy enough though, swimming around and knitting on all the surfaces, so I assume they are full on biofilm, and why they don’t care about the food I put in.
I have a refugium 75 gal. Started with 6 different colored shrimp last August from a local store. Seeded with mud from a local pond and decomposing coffee, and mud and capped with a thin layer of sand. Yielded 3 types of water plant and assorted micro fauna. I feed the shrimp raw meat, chicken necks, quail liver, pheasant bones. Old vegetables. Yeast added to the tank every 3 days for the daphnia. The tank will disappear a chicken neck in about 10 days, a chicken heart in 5. I squeeze out all the filter media into the refugium (from 4 other large tanks). There is a plastic container in the refugium that I put duckweed and water lettuce from my other tanks as well. This decomposes and produces huge algae plumes (Which is the whole purpose) I have a 225 gallon tank that maintains Neolamprologus Lelupe, altolamprologus comprecciceps goldhead. and a colony of Tropheus Moori Firecracker red and a colony of guppies and 6 synodontis petricola. Every day I scoop out Algae and duckweed to feed the fish. It will contain, blackworms, snails and eggs, and shrimp!. Some of the shrimp survive in the 225, it is heavily planted and rocky. It was seeded the same way as the refugium. .
@@xValeTatt So not sure what that means bad for water. You need the microfauna (especially blackworms) If you look at any of the professional Daphnia farmers many use manure. If you have the right microfauna it will break down everything. The refugium is so packed with live plants you cannot see the other side. All these factors mean that it is breaking down any decaying material in very short order. I could not guess the amount of shrimp three or four hundred. Each female drops 30 to 50 every x number of weeks. Tropheus Moori are super sensitive to diet and water conditions malawi bloat and internal parasites. I am done with fighting nature and making the most sterile environment for fish. IMHO this results in fish with compromised immune system. Most of the fish in the hobby are bleached out shells in terms of their behavior, immunity and coloration. My fish do not sit and wait for food they work for their food every day. Tropheus Moori, A Compressiceps, L. Lelupe have different feeding requirements and it is recommended that they are not kept together. But they are found together in the wild and they are found together in my tanks. Check out Father Fish.
I also have bought shrimp three times now? Like about 30. I can only see a few. I have neon tetras? Are they eating my shrimp? I am setting up my five gallon tank the past few weeks to get it well cycled and have ordered more red ones. I so hope they will make it. No one answers me do tetras eat my baby shrimp? If so im getting rid of them!!! I want shrimp and just my mystery snails. The tetras are my husbands
How do you deal with feeding/overfeeding and snail over population? I don’t put snails in any of my tanks yet they all have hundreds if not thousands of snails which at times out compete the shrimp…
I paid mine 7 euros each for the Bloody Marys but I think they were of high quality unfortunately they didn't have something less expensive and easier 😢
Hi Richard, I am fairly new to shrimp keeping I just recently added 30 x skittle cherry shrimp to my Endler tank 10 gallon. My question to you is how do I know if my shrimp are eating well. How can i feed them directly so my endlers dont eat all their food? My tank is stacked with plants. I want to be successful in keeping my shrimp happy and healthy. Thanks
Hi. It can be tricky to target feed when you have active fish like Endlers in the tank. You could try feeding the shrimp after lights out, or try feeding sinking wafers and floating food at the same time. The chaces are the Endlers will gravitate towards the floating food, and the ahrimp will naturally prefer the sinking food.
Been 8 months now since i got my 'setup' bloody marys from my local shop and online. Lost several shrimps in the initial 2 months but now cant even count how many i got now. Probably counted around 60 last time but im sure theres so much more hiding. Pretty sure therell be a cut off amount till the population will stop growing 🤔
I love my neocardina since i have cery hard waterabd they thrive. I will say my amano have been bullet proof . Also huge a**holes! They are my tank bullies
Hard agree on 'cut your teeth'. When I started a few years ago, I figured my capacity to intake information would offset my lack of experience. Nothing will replace experience in this hobby.

If I set up a new tank, can I use or squeeze a sponge from another cycle fish tank into the new tank?
It will certainly help ‘cycle’ the tank but it won’t necessarily speed up the development of biofilm etc, so proceed with caution 👍🏻

i have been doing research on shrimp because i’m interested in starting a shrimp tank, and all everyone mentions is hard vs soft water, but no one explains what it is & how to achieve either or
I tried neo shrimp 2pcs and i dunno that it was a pair and now the female have babies on my 10 gallon 😅.
Hey, welcome to the channel. Thanks for taking the time to get in touch 🫶🏻
Sir can they survive ro water with copper and zinc ion in it
That would depend how much copper. Trace amounts, probably yes. Large quantities, no, they will die.
Can I just use a sponge filter? Also can I get away with no heater? Basement air temp is around 67 degrees Fahrenheit
Yea and yes 👍🏻
Your videos have super helpful and encouraging! I have 2 tanks set up which I'm not super happy with how they turned out aestetically but are breeding and multiplying like crazy right now so I've just left the tanks be. But thanks for all the knowledge and enthusiasm for the hobby! It really is uplifting!
Glad I could help! 🫶🏻
Love from Philippines! Thanks
🥰
Such great information. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching 🫶🏻
am definitely making some mistakes. gonna strive to be more patient
Patience is the key 💪🏻
Hi Richard i wrote to you earlier about some of my shrimp duying every week, if it was normal, i didnt tell that i also had assasin snails in the tank.
i was looking on the internet for information and on several sites i saw that assasin snail could kill life shrimp, i have removed the snails and i hadnt have a dead shrimp since.
maybe it was the snails maybe something else, i just thought i would let you know :)
Thanks for your awesome videos.
Thanks for the update. I do keep Assassin Snails in with some of my shrimp colonies, and I haven't noticed any problems. However, the main thing is your shrimp have stopped dying. All the best. Richard
Well water. Is that good option?
Honestly, it depends on the make up of your well water. In theory, it will be fine, but you will need to know if it is 'hard' or 'soft' and what the pH is 👍🏻
I went to the pet store and I got some duckweed. A couple of shrimp came with the duck wheat now I have hundreds of shrimp in a tank and I don’t even know what kind they are. Can you help me?
Best thing to do is join our Discord server and post some pictures.

Don't have scrimps yet but glad I have this info when I do
This video was so helpful.
No, I don’t believe you can have too many plants, although you could argue a tank rammed full of plants with no surface movement could lead to a fatal drop in oxygen levels overnight (but it’s unlikely you’d encounter that)
And as for a bloom, tanks typically settle back down given time.
I assume by the FF tanks you mean dirt capped with sand? These tanks are great (and I am a Father Fish fan) however problems like this can occur when the substrate is disturbed 😕
@@FishKeepingAnswers thank you!!! :)
Sir i am going to but 24 shrimp from a local breeder for 84 rs(.75 pound sterling) they are good in colour and vwey active is this good to buy them
Great information. I have an established tank & going to get amanos
🫶🏻
Is it a bad idea to have assassin snails in the same tank as shrimp ?
I've seen alot of different points of view but you sir seem like one of the worlds top shrimp experts.
Let me know
I keep Assassin Snails with my shrimp. Never once had an issue 👍🏻
I grabbed a gallon of pond water & some muck from the bottom & within a week of adding that to my new, 9 gallon tank with 24/7 lighting, the tank has exploded with life for some shrimp (green neocaridina), a nerite & a betta coming this week. ^^;
Nice 👍🏻
Solid move ! I love the super natural people can do. Most won’t. I have a super natural planted community tank 9.5g nano fish. Brownish super clear water. Shrimp and every one is booming ❤ father fish started my aquarium
I try and do each and every method I see ph gh kh everything but I know my tap water pH level but after changing my water my shrimps always die I did not understand what's happening here always I change the water always die 2 to 3 I have charry shrimps please help
What is the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate level of the water? Also what is the temperate, ph, gh and kh after the water change?
I second @AdamFJH. If we know these numbers we can hopefully help 🤞🏻
I never do water changes. My shrimp thrive 😊
Just found your channel and all I can say is WOW. I can watch you all day. Love your stuff. It's so full of information and entertaining. Thank you for such a awesome channel as I'm a new aquascaper. And I was interested in checking out shrimp; and you've convinced me!
Thank you for your kind words 🫶🏻
I just got your book on Amazon!
Thank you. Would love to hear your thoughts once you’ve read it 👍🏻
What temp do you keep your shrimp...
Low 70s normally 👍🏻
How to prevent nitrates buildup by overfeeding?
That depends how you mean by over feeding. It would only be classed as overfeeding if it were more food than they could eat. 👍🏻
12:52 bruh. several weeks for some skrimps? nah dawg. just take some plants or moss from an established tank, throw in some alder cones and a leaf or smthn and a sprits of aquarium fertilizer. let it sit still for a day and boom, biofilm galore. i literally did this 3 days ago. did a 30% water change to take out some of the tannins and added the shrimp. they are livin it up.
👍🏻
@@justjacque587 Thank You for your response, That is good to know, I will stay with Neos, Thanks Again, Have a good day.
I tried to buy your book, but there's no option for PayPal. Is there a different link with a PayPal option?
Hi. At the moment the only payment method is Stripe. Stripe is widely considered to be one of the safest payment gateways in the world, so your transaction is safe. 👍🏻
Use pre filter sponge for canister filter
Is rainwater any good? I live in suburbia in a low population city. Its crystal clear and tastes good
Not sure why my comments dont show on this channel...like looking for my shrimp. Sorry if repeated
So, would 4 weeks be enough?
Probably. Once you see life forming, usually algae, you tank is probably ready 👍🏻
@@FishKeepingAnswers Okay, so basically just wait until there's algae forming?
Or maybe go a week longer, just to be safe?
Ok yt, I'm subbed and have all notifications clicked but haven't gotten notifications from this channel for months! Honestly thought the channel was on a break out something. 😡
If I didn't hear his accent, I would have thought this guy was from santa monica great video
Is that good or bad? 🤷🏻♂️
Another great video
You are too kind 🫶🏻
Nice video. Thanks for sharing! #iloveshrimp
I already purchased your book. How do i save it?
Thanks for purchasing a copy. What device are you using to try and save it?
@@FishKeepingAnswersi already saved it on my desktop pc. Was viewing it earlier on my phone.
This decomposes and produces huge algae plumes (Which is the whole purpose)
I have a 225 gallon tank that maintains Neolamprologus Lelupe, altolamprologus comprecciceps goldhead. and a colony of Tropheus Moori Firecracker red and a colony of guppies and 6 synodontis petricola.
Every day I scoop out Algae and duckweed to feed the fish. It will contain, blackworms, snails and eggs, and shrimp!. Some of the shrimp survive in the 225, it is heavily planted and rocky. It was seeded the same way as the refugium.
.
isn't it bad for water to keep dead meat for days?
To a baby shrimp, a Neon Tetra is a predator 😒
How do you deal with feeding/overfeeding and snail over population? I don’t put snails in any of my tanks yet they all have hundreds if not thousands of snails which at times out compete the shrimp…
Do you have to drip acclimate your shrimp?
Are ramshorn snails bad in shrimp tank
Not in my experience. 🤔
Great content. I learned a lot (and subscribed immediately). Keep up the good work.
Awesome, thank you! 🙏🏻
And now i know where my shrimp went stopping at store today for a intake sponge 😂 poor little guys
😢
Been 8 months now since i got my 'setup' bloody marys from my local shop and online. Lost several shrimps in the initial 2 months but now cant even count how many i got now. Probably counted around 60 last time but im sure theres so much more hiding. Pretty sure therell be a cut off amount till the population will stop growing 🤔

@FishKeepingAnswers no problem! good to have a laugh & also gain knowledge 🦐 keep it up
i but a low guality shrimp and i have no problems with them they have a lot of babies.
That’s great news 💪🏻
I love my neocardina since i have cery hard waterabd they thrive. I will say my amano have been bullet proof . Also huge a**holes! They are my tank bullies
Hard agree on 'cut your teeth'. When I started a few years ago, I figured my capacity to intake information would offset my lack of experience. Nothing will replace experience in this hobby.
I raise glass shrimp.
Nice 👍🏻
Thirty seconds in, essentially swimming on his left shoulder, is that a Giant Betta?
Nope, just a regular Betta 👍🏻
I got 15 of them now I got only one.
Maybe my vampire crab just ate them I guess
I started with 89 cent ghost 🦐

Hi. Truth be told, 45% of my viewers are based in the US, 16% in India and only 10% in the UK.
Perhaps you, he and I, but obviously not the majority. The thing is that he has completely abandoned UK viewers and only seems to use "farenheit" which is a bigger issue in my opinion and is the sole reason I will not subscribe nor exclude from my ad blocker despite this channel being one of the most knowledgeable by far.
