Arthur's Seat is memorable! Kids would remember that! Also, people are so supportive during the hike and on top - all languages and people together on top taking pictures for each other and chatting - amazing! I think, after one trip, on the second I will try other big ticket items and also more of the free ones. May I also add, it is completely doable as a single traveler. There's so much to see and do! Thanks Tony!
I'm from Connecticut, USA. I was a live in Nanny for Yale professors. When they were on sabbatical, we lived in Edinburgh for a year. I walked everywhere! We lived in the Bruntsfield area, & the children went to the Bruntsfield school, where Sean Connery (007 guy!) went to when he was a boy. A block or 2 away, is where they filmed, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. & From the kitchen window over the sink, we could see where JK Rowland once lived. The preschool where I took the little boy, is where She went to church; until she got so popular, she had to move to Phyphe, Fife, ??? Whatever way you spell it !!!! So, basically, we lived in the Old Town. 💙🕊️💙🏴🏴🏴
Just realized that I haven’t been to the museum, so I’ll just have to visit Edinburgh again!! Thanks for the video Tony. Love to start my Saturday morning with you!!
Really looking forward to coming back to Edinburgh in the October holidays. Came two years ago in August and it was great. My boys loved it with all the Fringe things on. Now we get to see other things that we didn’t get to see and revisit things we loved like the museum. Thank you so much for your videos. I’m always telling my husband things I’ve learnt from your videos as I’m rewatching some and watching new ones getting ready to come back. 😊 🎉
Enjoyed watching your Trip Advisor videos. Have you considered making your own trip advisor version of the top ten things to do in Edinburgh? I have visited The Royal Mile and plan to visit again very soon. It would be most helpful to hear from someone who loves the city as much as you do, to recommend your top ten choices of places to visit. The one rainy day I spent on the Royal Mile was not enough time to explore the whole area, but knowing the highlighted version can help a lot if traveling is limited.
My two youngest boys and I loved the museum and Arthur's Seat. My two oldest sons want to go to the historical areas next May. They are huge fans of any history. I have lots of information to share thanks to your videos. ❤
Thanks for the video and the information Tony. What I want to do if I can get to Edinburgh is walk the Royal Mile, see the spot to spit on on the sidewalk, see the cannon ball in the wall, see Edinburgh castle, see the doggy who’s nose I won’t rub, the Scot monument and that very old graveyard. Those are my first things. ♥️
Agree with you Tony as far as the order of attractions. But Edinburgh is my favorite place in the world, in part to ĺistenìng to your suggestions. Thanks ❤❤
Tony, I agree that: 1. The Old Town is a region, not an attraction. It is too vague a term to have its own entry. 2. The Brittania is awesome, but I'd put Arthur's Seat and the museum above it on the list
Spot on comments Tony. The Royal Yacht is certainly worth a visit, as the nearby Shore area of Leith is, but I don't think it should be number 1. BTW, I've really enjoyed this little two partner - great stuff 👍
We were staying in Leith a little over a week ago (and my husband proudly wore his Clan Broonford hat every day). The Dutch ship was moored by the Britannia but there was also a submarine. So cool! We used the tram daily; very handy. Have visited the Britannia on a previous trip. Top 10, yes. Number 1, no. Your castle should be tops.
I used to walk to Prince's St & to the Prince's St Mall. I still have my Hogmanay hat !! & 2 pairs of Cool boots !!! & I have lots of pictures that I took. I love the one where I went to the school to pick up the children. It was inn Dec., at 3:00 p.m. It was totally dark, & a full moon !!! But I also went to the military tattoo, & it was light out until almost 10:00 p.m. & Where we lived, I heard fireworks Every night!!!
Thanks for enduring the rain Tony. The #1 was unexpected. I'm thinking it might be because of what happened in 2022 that spurred more interest in the Royal family. Either way, it's good to see you out and about. Cheers.
Poo! Sorry, I was genuinely disappointed that the boat was #1 of things to do in a VERY VERY SCOTTISH Edinburgh. Anything dealing with the Royals is off in my book; I suppose that I have a stronger opinion than most, but the University should be #1. Calton Hill and the Surgeon's Hall should be on the list. If you wanted to, I'd take YOUR Top 10, I'd prefer that - Trip Advisor should take a hike! Better yet, we'll let them roll down Calton Hill or be kicked off of Arthur's Seat....Edinburgh is SCOTTISH! Love you. You did a great job.
I don't get it either :) I actualy didn't go and see it when I was in Edinburgh, it wasn't on my must see, my short list or even my back up list for the time I had. Thanks for your videos.
Been to the boat and yes it’s ok but absolutely not the best Edinburgh can offer. I love watching your videos as an old Edinburgh person feeling a wee bit home sick.
I live in Edinburgh and of the touristy things to do here Britannia and the Castle would be my top two! I agree with you about old town not needing to be on the list as it goes without saying you should see it, but it’s not an attraction. What’s your top 10?
Hi Tony, great video as usual, but this has nothing to do with this video. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the birth of Admiral Lord Nelson (29th). When I was up in Edinburgh back in July, I left a memento connected to him at the Nelson Monument just for you. Would you be interested in going up and finding it..? You could film it and then choose whether to air it or not, that would be entirely up to you but, the momento would be yours to keep regardless.
Hey Tony! I've been watching your videos over the past year, and I absolutely love them-your walks through Edinburgh have taught me so much about the city. Honestly, you were one of the reasons I decided to move here! I'm planning a big Scotland travel series for my channel and would love to collaborate with you if you're interested. I've got a few ideas on how we could work together, but I'd love to hear your thoughts too. Let me know if you'd be up for it! - Desi

Maybe you could try and give us your own top 10. 🤷🏼♀️😊
Agreed

surprised the zoo isn’t there ❤
Glad you enjoyed a holiday with your family ♥️
I must have been to the museum nearly 20 times and I still find new things. Such a brilliant day out and not an excessive gift shop or coffee prices!
Just realized that I haven’t been to the museum, so I’ll just have to visit Edinburgh again!! Thanks for the video Tony. Love to start my Saturday morning with you!!

Hey Tony its fantastic to have you back with us
When I lived in Edinburgh, I got to see all these places in this video!!! 👍👍👍💙🏴💙🏴💙👍👍👍
Hope you and your family had a great vacation.
Looks like a real fall day in Edinburgh.
Thanks for another great video.

Great video! Send that Autumn weather to South Carolina-we’re still shaking off summer
Thanks for the video and the information Tony.

Enjoyed the video Tony, the museum should be number 1 it's amazing.
Thanks for another great video Tony! We are looking forward to coming back to Edinburgh in early December!
I agree. I've never understood why the Britannia is ranking number 1 on things to do in Edinburgh. It definitely has a place in the top 10 though
Nice video Tony, nice to see you back, I was worried about you as we did not see you in a few weeks.
Welcome back! Hope you had a fantastic holiday.
The Writers’ Museum was probably my favorite tour attraction when I visited Edinburgh. Beautiful city. I hope to be back.
Agree with you Tony as far as the order of attractions. But Edinburgh is my favorite place in the world, in part to ĺistenìng to your suggestions. Thanks ❤❤

Welcome back! We are arriving in Edinburgh early May! Perhaps run into you for a quick pint or a hello
I lost your videos. But I found you again, thank goodness. 😊
Welcome back!

I have to totally agree with you about the royal yacht, much better things to do instead for more value to time or memories.
Thanks for content
I agree with everything you said.

The cat cafe is nice too Tony
Been to the boat and yes it’s ok but absolutely not the best Edinburgh can offer. I love watching your videos as an old Edinburgh person feeling a wee bit home sick.
The best thing about Ocean Terminal is HMV, the Vue Cinema, and Frankie & Bennies.
🙏
Is the climb on Salisbury Crags easier than Arthur's Seat?
Yes, though the views aren't as good.
I live in Edinburgh and of the touristy things to do here Britannia and the Castle would be my top two! I agree with you about old town not needing to be on the list as it goes without saying you should see it, but it’s not an attraction. What’s your top 10?

The Britannia is just alright - I wouldnt advise anyone to go see it unless they had tons of time
Meh..agree Tony #1 is a head scratcher.
Your number 1 attraction has absolutely nothing to do with my city!
It's not my number one, it's tripadvisors.
@@ClanBroonfordI know I was just joining in!
