Thank you for acknowledging that acne-prone skin can be sensitive/dry/tight and not just oily! This is something that even my dermatologist does not get. Loved your advice!
Exactly !!!!! I wasted so many years with Dermatologists as a teen because of that. I had strong acne and their treatments would always make my skin looks worse. Only after I found ONE dermatologist who told me I have sensitive skin as well I was I able to see improvements. He told me to closely look at how my skin reacts to some ingredients/products. The result was my skin can't stand alcohol denat, synthetic or natural perfume, ess oil of course, leave on glycolic or salycilic acid product, rose water, witch hazel, coconut oils, many plant extracts, tap water yes even TAP WATER... The treatment against acne all had at least one or more of the above so I was not crazy, it did make my skin worse. And even today at 38 I find new ingredients everyday but my oily acne skin is under control now and I know how to deal with it .... All thanks to that ONE dermatologist.
That is exactly what I’m struggling with right now, my dermatologist says to use the CereVe acne prone face wash but it drys out my skin immediately after and it hurts to even talk, even when I use moisturizer after😭😭
I’ve had acne since I was about 12. I still have it at 31, but it’s been under control for years with skincare and lifestyle. If I had access to dermatologists on UA-cam as a teen, I would have avoided a lot of suffering and scarring!
My longtime dermatologist literally fought to get my skin together for over a decade. At 48 I am finally make up free, with healthy breathing skin, regularly going to the recommended in-office treatments. Nothing agresive, only the treatments that keep my skin healthy, along with the lifestyle and mindset that go hand in hand
@@mariepier9016 I would honestly recommend you to consult an expert. Each human's body, skin, etc is a unique story. I had my thyroid gland removed 3 years ago. My treatments have hugely changed in order to adapt to the medications I have to use. Due to that, one thing, for example, has been told to me never to do: botox since it reduces the efficiency of the hormonal supplements I use. Told to me by: the surgeon, endocrinologist and my dermatologist. So, it comes down to longtime consistency in: 1. cleaning my skin every 3 months - derma clearing method: clears, exfoliates the skin with 3 types of acids and deep hydration as the final step (in-office), 2. mesotherapy (in-office) only 3 times a year (during colder days), 3. consistently using dermatologist recommended products at home that may vary depending on numerous factors (current skin condition, time of the year, regular medical check-ups and results, etc).
As a person with ADHD, your way of educating is LITERALLY like tattooing all the information right on my brain. Your one video is equal to 10 videos that I've watched about the same stuff that I still feel unsatisfied or questioned about! Very comprehensive and diverse in information, not only you share about the main topic, but also about the tips, and metaphors, (like, the marriage and date thing really clicked me) and so on. I have oily skin and I live in a humid place, and I thought I was crazy that these influencers always said to use moisturizer. I've never felt like I need moisturizer and you pointed that out! And also, I feel like my dermatologists tried to sell me products, but now I use minimal and "non-commercial", non flashy skincares that have gimmicky ingredients in it (I bought them from pharmacy, way cheap, medical grade) and I felt my skin is better than ever.

So I'm definitely gonna be looking out for some hibiclens and the Walgreens dupe now. Thank you! Always love watching and learning from your vids ❤️
Hello Dr. Idriss, I just wanted to say that I appreciate the constant information you give out. I would like to suggest talking about the topic of pityrosporum folliculitis or seborrheic dermatitis on the face. I deal with dandruff and use a specific shampoo to keep it under control, but as for finding products in skincare that won’t trigger this. It’s challenging since it seems like almost anything can trigger it. Thank you very much in advance if you end up reading this and happy holidays !
I have this too and I use the Malezia urea moisturizer and their benzoyl peroxide gel, is literally the only thing that works for me. For spf i use elta md aero (sprayed onto hands) and vanicream gentle cleanser. Just if you have never used urea, maybe space out the moisturizer in between days for a week or two before introducing the benzoyl peroxide :)
@@allnamesarechosen_ Malezia is AMAZING. Those are the only product that have helped my husband, he has sensitive and oily skin and seborrheic dermatitis was so difficult to get under control until I found Malezia, he’s finished 3 moisturizer bottles. And he also uses eltamd’s uv clear spf as well as vanicream’s cleanser. Simple, effective, Malezia. ✅✨❤️🔥
I'm 54 and am only now getting rid of my very bad acne. Tried everything in my early 20s (including Accutane that gave me massive migraines and hair loss). Have been using Metrin's skincare line for a little while and Clinique's moisture surge whenever I need the extra help in the winter (I live in Canada). Both have done wonders for my skin! I just wish I could get rid of the scars 😭
I am 40 and was suffering from adult acne . This helped with acne and my spots are slowly fading as well: simple facewash , geek and gorgeous retinal 5, mad hippie microdermabration (once a week) , cosrx snail muscin for moisture, paulas choice vit c booster 15 (fades scars) , the ordinary niacinamide 10 % . Hope this helps
There is a cream from the brand Topicals, called “Faded” that is amazing at fading scars, melasma, and any dark spots. It stinks like sulfur, but it definitely works!
Over the past couple of months, they are testing a new Laser for Acne called AviClear. It's supposed to be very effective! You might want to try it. Also, Bellafill has been approved by the FDA to treat and fill in Acne scars.
Dr. Shereen could be a wonderful teacher!!!!... fun.!!.. she could have one of those classes you love to go to and NOT miss any of her content!!!!....she explains everything so easy!!!!
Strongly recommend the goat milk moisturizer and elasticity serum from Little Seed Farm! I use the moisturizer at night and the serum during the day under my sunscreen (EltaMD UV clear).
I love that youre mentioning the different of moisturizer using between dry and humid area. I live in Indonesia and i rarely find video of skincare routine for people in humid area. I wish you can make one later ❤️
I have been using the Neutrogena salicylic acid wash and the peach slice cream for three days. I’m a 23 yo female and I randomly started to break out. Never had severe acne until this year… and lemme tell y’all. My face cleared up and my skin is glowing! I purchased the clearasil pimple patch. Personally for 14 dollars from cvs it isn’t worth it. It came with 18 pimple patches and they’re pretty small. Thank you Idris! You saved my skin 🥺🫶🏻
I started lip basting because of you. I have the same issue with my lips being chronically dry and getting that white crust and let me tell you! I’ve only just started and my lips are so hydrated and smooth
I apply a thick layer of Laneige's lip mask after I brush my teeth before sleep and I find that it really helps with my dry lips.. Give it a try, I personally love it.
@@fatimabadr688 I normally apply like Vaseline or chapstick afterwards but definitely gonna do some lip basting beforehand now. I heard of the lip mask but never personally tried it out cause of the price lol

Please do a video on your recommendations for mature skin. And your recommendations for fillers, botox etc. In particular best way of dealing with under eye bags. Love your channel ❤ I've learned so much from you and my skin is so much better than it was a year ago thanks to your advice! ❤
I am going to be honest, my skin cannot tolerate chemical exfoliant. The BHA and Benzoyle Peroxide irritated my skin and gave me pigmentation. Now I only have small zits on my chin so I decided to switch back to my tried and tested ST. IVES which I've used for almost 18 years and never had any problems. I KNOW people hate it and Shereene is against it. But my skin LOVES it. The lawsuit against it was dismissed due to lack of evidence that it is bad for the skin. And I've used it for a very long time to know if there was any long term damage to my skin. It didn't. Retinoid didn't help with hormonal acne but it did help with other types of acne. I just used the St. ives with small beads so it won't irritate the small acne on my chin. Nothing worked for me aside from st. Ives. I love it and my skin loves it. But just because it works for me, it doesnt mean it will work for you. I also tried the 1% bha formulation but it didn't help either. Hormonal acne really has no cure. I will just stick to my tried and tested products..HOWEVER, I WANT TO TRY GLYCOLIC TO SEE IF IT WORKS.
What kind of pigmentation did you get from PanOxyl Benzoyl Peroxide? Overall face pigmentation? If your face is prone to pigmentation try lactic acid. It did not cause irritation on my melanin sensitive / reactive skin.
Raised my hand up high when she mentioned Indonesia cuz that's where I live and I have acne prone that keeps occuring on the same spots for a long time and only got better with regular acne injection TLC - thank you for this GUIDANCE!

I love how real you are, Dr. Idriss! You are wonderfully relatable and have a fabulous sense of humor. I’ve noticed that you don’t you a Retin A in your routine… is it that your skin is too sensitive for it?
Hi Shereene, could you please do a video about treating acne scars with microneedling, lasers etc and what questions to ask the person so you can find someone who's qualified and good at their job lolz luv the video
I always leave my cleanser on my face while I am brushing my teeth. I believe, leaving your cleanser on your face for a minute helps the ingredients to oxidise on the skin 😊

Dr. Idriss! Can you do a video on scalp care/hair care?? Would love to know what you do for healthy hair growth🤍 you are amazing, thank you for these helpful videos!
I am 45 years old, pre menopausal, with oily skin, I get hormonal pimples that are inflamed before the period and not only. I wash my face every night to free it from sunscreen and use also a microfiber cloth. I have dark spotted skin, even using 50+ sunscreen. My skin is sensitive and I cannot use everything I would like of creams/cosmetic products because it will react. I am using vitamin C in the morning, sometimes I react with irritation (red and hot face), then I must wash it off and do a normal moisturizer without actives (got one from avene that is designed just for reactive skin). I wear make up mostly when I have some pimples on the face. In the evening after cleansing with a light foam cleanser I use a 2%BHA and 2% AHA serum, a ceramide repair serum depending on the skin reactivity or hydration, so not always, then retinal from Transparent Lab.This one does function ok, until I get irritation. So I am kind of an on/off on the active ingredients, pimples appear from time to time and spots don't seem to decrease. I am unsure what could help, my face lacks fulness is starting to sag. Should I use pimple products, skip the vit C and keep retinol as you described in this video? I live in Europe so sometimes it's not easy to find specific products on your list, it's very good that you are always offering a few options of the same activ product, so it is easier to search for the one available here. I love your content, your sincerity, and how direct you are (kind of like I am)! ❤Thank you!
Thanks for your wonderful videos! I’d love if you can do a video on eczema; it would be good to learn how you treat it and how you can still use effective skincare products with eczema prone skin

“Go take a dump” 😂 As someone who can’t stop themselves from using a cleanser with an active in it (I know : / I have no control) this was a great tip and I’ll do my best
Please do a video on comedogenic ingredients! I had what I thought was acne but turned out to be the products I was using/comedogenic ingredients. I now read through every single skincare product ingredient list and if there's any comedogenic ingredient, I don't buy it, which surprisingly (and frustratingly) restricts the products I use to like... 1% of what's on the market. Though my skin has cleared up (yay!), I'm always a little discouraged from trying new products because 9 out of 10, it has a comedogenic ingredient (vitamin c serums, brightening products, spfs... you name it). And often comedogenic ingredients are found in acne-prone products which I just find very confusing. Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts, as it's not something I hear a lot of people talk about.

@@EnvyBlu
Read your comment on faded. Is it a spot fading cream or all over face?
Over the past couple of months, they are testing a new Laser for Acne called AviClear. It's supposed to be very effective! You might want to try it. Also, Bellafill has been approved by the FDA to treat and fill in Acne scars.
Dr. Shereen could be a wonderful teacher!!!!... fun.!!.. she could have one of those classes you love to go to and NOT miss any of her content!!!!....she explains everything so easy!!!!
It’s a crazy feeling seeing you use the same spf as me. It feels like I aced my test
I have the wonderful combination of dry skin and acne. I’m still working on a routine that addresses both. Pray for me y’all.
Strongly recommend the goat milk moisturizer and elasticity serum from Little Seed Farm! I use the moisturizer at night and the serum during the day under my sunscreen (EltaMD UV clear).
The content of the video is very rich BUT your personality is a extra amazing bonus! I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing your videos.
I love that youre mentioning the different of moisturizer using between dry and humid area. I live in Indonesia and i rarely find video of skincare routine for people in humid area. I wish you can make one later ❤️
Also… the fact videos aren’t edited make it a natural conversation. 😊
I have a tip for you, could be your toothpaste causing excessive lip dryness!! Switch it out and see if there’s a difference 😉
I apply a thick layer of Laneige's lip mask after I brush my teeth before sleep and I find that it really helps with my dry lips.. Give it a try, I personally love it.
@@april4able Okay, thank you! lol never even thought about my toothpaste tbh
@@fatimabadr688 I normally apply like Vaseline or chapstick afterwards but definitely gonna do some lip basting beforehand now. I heard of the lip mask but never personally tried it out cause of the price lol
Your videos have become a real ritual for me. Don’t have acne but just watching because of your awesome energy. ✨ I’ve been waiting for a channel like this one for years: professional but not serious, with content that educates AND entertains you. Thank you for all the hard work Dr Shereene 🙏
You said Namaste 😍
Wow.. It feels so good hear😊
I've been suffering from inflammatory acnes and cystic acnes for more than 10 years
Thankyou so much for sharing this information ❤
I've been struggling with skin care tips because I'm not ready to blindly follow these influencers. I wanted the info that was missing and doctor you just gave it 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Edit : After following your tips, my acne vanished 🥹
My skin glows and it's brightened ❤
Thankyou so much doctor
You're changing the world
You're changing lives for good🎉👏🏻👏🏻🥰🥰♥️
Please do a video on your recommendations for mature skin. And your recommendations for fillers, botox etc. In particular best way of dealing with under eye bags. Love your channel ❤ I've learned so much from you and my skin is so much better than it was a year ago thanks to your advice! ❤
I had horrible under eye bags, and under eye fillers have been a game changer for me. The fillers and completely helped my confidence.
I wish I could just fly and reach to Dr.Shereene and spend few days with her... Sending you lots of love from INDIA❣️❣️
So useful! I’m planning on going off birth control in the next year or so and I’m SO scared of my skin freaking out and going pimple crazy, so will def be saving this!
The amount of joy your videos bring me… the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen!🥺 You can make a video about anything and you better believe I will watch it and then rewatch it on days I feel down! Thank you for the consistency! Thank you for the hard work! ❤️❤️❤️
Please do a video dispelling myths about deodorant/antiperspirant and what you recommend!
Bless you, Shereene! I’ve watched three times and taken my notes 📝
I would love a travel skincare routine video from you in the future- I struggle on what’s worth taking and travel size things. SOS!
So thankful for this video. My cousin has recently been struggling with acne and I’ve been trying to help him so this video is very helpful!
Dr. Alexis Stephens is another great dermatologist on youtube with lots of great acne advice that could help your cousin. She's helped me a lot
Yes! Deeper dive on cystic acne for late 20s people :)
This is my most favorite video you have ever published. Thank you, more more please
I always leave my cleanser on my face while I am brushing my teeth. I believe, leaving your cleanser on your face for a minute helps the ingredients to oxidise on the skin 😊
Always something new to learn! Love how you share your knowledge with all of us!❤️
Oh my goodness thank you so much! I’m so grateful to have your videos as resources. You’re so funny and charming as well, of course, as being super clear about what to do and why. I have not have a full reprieve from acne since I was a teen (I’m 31). I took notes from and saved this video! I will follow your instructions and I am excited to begin!
I recently change my skin routine and have seen a huge improvement! Thank you very much!
This video is GOLD.
Omg i've been waiting for this kind of video and now it's here. 😭 Wanted to sleep but dr shereene is lifer so will watch instead. 😂
YESSSSSS!!!! I’ve been on quite the acne skin adventure (skinventure?) lately and I NEED your guidance.
Great video thanks - Doc you are GLOWING please can you do an up to date glowing make up routine xxxxx
I would love to know your skin routine . Your skin is glowing and stunning
I don't know why but I love her energy..
You have a great personality you’re gorgeous and you actually tell the truth I am so over HA and your video explained so much !!! Thank you for all these videos !
I was thinking what should I do now with these sudden crazy breakouts and your video popped up. You’re like my fairy god mother!
Thanks a lot for such informative contents. This is such an educational channel and I have learnt so much!
Could you do a video on the various facial treatments available (e.g. microdermabrasion, derma-planning, chemical peels) and there benefits, please!
Good morning from Kuala Lumpur! What helped me a lot was P50 from Biologique Recherche and SK II plus evening double cleanse . Thank you Dr SI and see you next week on UA-cam !!
Woah you blew my mind when you said rosacea is a form of acne!
I have much to learn, even after years of dealing with acne.
Love Dr Idris. What are the best current sunscreens for acne prone skin ?
Would love to see more recommendations from La Roche
I love that you said go take a dump 😆 love your rawness or more so authentic personality in this and throughout your videos. It's very fun & comfortable to me, like a professional friend! 👌
Dr. Idriss! Can you do a video on scalp care/hair care?? Would love to know what you do for healthy hair growth🤍 you are amazing, thank you for these helpful videos!
I’d also love to hear her opinion on the different exfoliating acids for scalp!
We nerds love the work you put into your skin care videos.
You are soo beautiful Dr Idriss! Thank you for educating us all on having healthy skin! 😍🙌🏻
❤Thank you!
Thank you for the fantastic material! A video for products that can help acne scars would be a good idea in my opinion :) please!
Always helping ! please do a video about make up! What do you recommend for each kind of skin, AND what do you use? So pretty.
Hello from Montreal always watching and waiting for your videos thank you
This was absolutely needed🙌🙌🙌thank you so much for existing and filling us with so much information to better take care of our skin!!❤️😩😩
Yesss I love seeing my hydrochlorous spray and hibiclens!! I’ve been using both since 2017 only thing to keep my backne and acne on my arms at bay
Thanks for your wonderful videos! I’d love if you can do a video on eczema; it would be good to learn how you treat it and how you can still use effective skincare products with eczema prone skin
I need that level of highlight/glow in my life!!
Yes! Been waiting for another vid about acne, thank you! I mean in need !
This is very helpful. I’m on neuac for my inflammatory acne and using ceramides and niacinamide to calm and keep my skin happy. Any tips for the red marks left over from acne?
Best patches ever - Purito All Care Recovery Cica-Aid. They stay on, has Centella, and your pimple looks better after.
“Go take a dump” 😂 As someone who can’t stop themselves from using a cleanser with an active in it (I know : / I have no control) this was a great tip and I’ll do my best
Oh what a great video!
Sulfur good for rosacea too! 😊 I been using the Saturn Sunday Riley
I’d love your POV on caring for skin when adjusting to tretinoin! I just started Altreno this week and my poor skin is just so dry right now. 😂
Thanks! I’ve been waiting for this. Now to see if it’s available here in Japan
if it's saturday, it's Dr.Idriss time
Loved watching this so much!
Yes
I love u Sher!
Would be nice to hear about skincare tips for cold climate.
Thank you so so much for this video! super duper helpful! Some deep dives would be much appreciated! Merry Christmas 🎄🎉
I'd love a video on rosacea and eczema prone skin plus hormonal acne. It's a tricky combo.
This is super helpful! It’s disgustingly humid in south Florida and I always felt like I was doing too much with the moisturizer + sunscreen.
I really like how energetic you are at 10:00 p.m 😂❤
Thanks a million for these helpful tips✨😍
I love you Dr. Idriss you are the best most humble down to earth doctor bad ego free ever! Thanks thanks for sharing all these info with us. Wish you were practicing here in Palm Beach FL. Can you please give tips on how to get rid or avoid blackheads? Thankssssss
Love your channel and watch religiously. I was wondering a lot of the advice is for beginners and to be honest I don’t feel like I am especially since I watch you since the beginning and other Derms as well. Could you do a series for those of us who’ve been on Tret for a year or two and have been diligent with our skin. How to elevate our care and procedures we should look into in our 40’s. I’m thinking of Sculptra myself.
Anyhow love you

CeraVe is the bomb. Since I started using zinc shampoo and cerave at night. My skin is amazing!
Thank you for this, I was really looking for some tips for acne prone skin :)
13:58 WHY would hyloronic acid moisturizer be inflammatory? I thought it brings hydration only. ?
