Urea is my all time favourite ingredient. My skin is just unreal after using creams with it for weeks. Eucerin are usually my top choice, they have great products with urea.
That ISDIN Ureadin line includes body products with 10%, 20%, 30% and even 40% of urea. At least in Europe. I'm not sure why she said 20% is prescription strength, but maybe it used to be that way (in the USA), but it no longer is?
@@skinthusiastic I have recently bought 20% urea foot cream on amazon (in US). However, I saw another dermatologist said that most of those OTC products rarely contain more than 5% of urea despite their claim on the package.
My new favorite moisturizer is gold bond’s pure moisture lotion. It’s safe for face and body! It has ceramides, urea, niacinamide, etc! My body and face have absolutely loved it and it’s almost completely replaced my cetaphil and cerave routines. Ten bucks for twenty ounces and I’m in love
Laura Rae introduced me to this wonder lotion/cream in her UA-cam programs! This is the first product I've used that actually smooths out my turkey wattle neck and my gardeners hands and knees and doesn't get sticky or too slick! I clip coupons and have purchased 4 extra tubes of this; my total was $21.00! Great buy, great product!
Hi from Stockholm, Sweden! Love your informative videos, and among many things so thankful that someone finally dares to pull the plug on the crazy hyaluronic acid hype! I have experienced and realised a long time ago this, but have increasingly harder and harder time to find products without HA in them. But if people like you speak up more then perhaps the trend can also change! So keep up the great work! I am most grateful! About your theory on why skincare companies are hesitant to put actives in body care - my two cent guess is that they are afraid that will make people realise how incredibly overpriced our skincare with actives for the face really is… As nobody will be willing to pay what they charge you for tiny 30 ml vessels of face serums for a body serum of 11 oz… so they will have to put prices lower. And that can make people think and begin to count… So I think therein lies one of the biggest reasons why it has taken so long. Now the market is screaming for it. But everyone is afraid that some brand will begin launching really great but affordable skincare for the body, as that will wreak havoc on the market, I believe. So everybody are a bit hesitant and want to see how high they can put the price points. And to try and counteract that the world needs people like you who can show the real values of content. ❣️
I would love to see a video dedicated to the family of MINERAL OILS / PARAFFIN. I am quite confused in terms of what the difference between PETROLATUM and PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM is. 😭
@@weewoo3889 Sure. But what I don't get is the difference between liquid paraffin/mineral oil/paraffinum liquidum (whatever you might call it) and petrolatum. Because Petrolatum is supposed to be best at stopping transepidermal waterloss (TEWL). I would be interested in how good paraffin liquidum is at stopping TEWL.
Thanks for all the ideas. My favorite brand that has glycolic acid in body products is Alpha Skincare. Their body lotion has 12% glycolic and I use it at least once a week during the winter. It’s also fragrance free- which is important to me. The 12 oz bottle is less than $20. I think I paid $15 last time I bought it.
I’ve been waiting for skincare for the body for so long! I’ve started buying cheaper facial skincare with good ingredients and researching as much as I can on body lotions etc. I just wish more body care items had actives and didn’t cost a ton 🥲
Ugh the relief finding your channel. I’m 27 and this year randomly got eczema for the first time behind my knees, arm pit folds and cringe… my nipples! What the hell!!! Thankfully I did have that exact kids eczema cream and therapy lotion !!!! My son has eczema. I ended up taking an allergy pill to stop my itching and loaded up on baby products 😭😭 I’m so sad!!! I need body care now!
Literally ur tips from this video saved my horrendously irritated skin. My skin was itchy AF. Upon watching the video, I took shower less frequently in winter with warm (not hot) water , and applied Vaseline (recommended in another video of urs). It's been almost 2 weeks, my skin has significantly improved and now is almost calmed down. Life savor UR!
Dr. Shereen you describe what these ingredients do for my skin in such a vivid, a colorful way, if you will and so specific- I really grasp the concept of how these will help all my skin stay Skin-Nerd-Approved and looking it’s best 🤓 THANK YOU! ❤️
I would love more videos on body care. Like not just products but things to keep in mind. I always learn so much from you. Also I would love product recommendations that have several ingredients in one, like you always say, it‘s annoying to have a product for each ingredient you want to use.
I love products with urea in it especially for my elbows cause I'm always leaning on them; I lean on the left one more than the right one. I use the Cetaphil Rough & Bumpy with 20% urea which has truly helped with the elbows and being more mindful of not leaning on them.
Aveeno’s Dermexa Cream is an absolute game changer, it got rid of my eczema which started last winter. I bought it based on yr review so a million thanks!!! Thanks also for separating fact fm fiction around hyaluronic acid .. all it did was make my skin feel tight & dry. Love fm Australia xx
Love you girl! I found you when I started having doubts about hyaluronic acid. YOU. MAKE. SENSE! rare. My request is that you talk to us about lips. We need help. What works to moisturize, what we should avoid, cosmetics that help or damage... Thank you!
I use the Beautypie Retinol hand cream as a body cream. Definitely helps my KP…and at the price it’s affordable. I also use their Niacinemide serum on my body
I pretty much check your channel before purchasing any skin care. I just bought Isdin as per one of your videos for my body. Thank you. I trust you completely and really enjoy your videos.
I would love to see a video on breastfeeding safe products; sunscreen, face wash, face oil, serums, anti-aging, moisturizers. No one does videos on this and it is difficult to find safe products. I have found that companies make it extremely difficult to figure out if it is breastfeeding safe as well. Only company I have seen that has provided great visibility is the inkylist. Sunscreens for breastfeeding really confuse me.
Love this! Can you do a pregnancy edition or discuss body care products for pregnancy skin issues? Almost in my second trimester and I cut out my actives/chemicals so trying to figure out what’s safe to use
I was recently looking for a way to incorporate retinol into my body care to help with crepey skin. Rather than purchase a pricy product, I’ve been adding a few drops of retinol from The Ordinary into my regular lotion before applying and haven’t had any irritation. It’s only been a couple weeks so I don’t have a verdict, but for me it’s a more economical way to incorporate actives.
A different dermatologist (who's name I forget) recommended Neutrogena's Rapid Wrinkle Repair Face Oil Retinol Serum to treat sunspots on your hands. It's too oily for my face, but it's been great for lightening spots on my hands. I tried it on my decolletage, but as Dr. Idriss mentioned, the skin there is more sensitive, so it's little too strong to use directly in that area.
AFFORDABLE RETINOL BODY LOTIONS: Medix 5.5 has a big 444 ml lotion with retinol in it that’s only $28 AUD and Advanced Clinicals also has an affordable 454 g one for $23 AUD 😉 I looked them both up on INCI Decoder to compare which one had ingredients I liked more, as well.
I always wondered why it was so hard to find actives in body stuff! I've found myself searching the web for obscure brands to find body treatments similar to what I use on my face.
I think I have heard that technically selling things in large body size is actually going to be less expensive for the buyer even with actives. It's also why plenty of esthetic shops can afford to buy all the immense amount of products without going brankrupt and not having to charge their clients something outlandish like 10k per session.
If companies can make body sunscreens that are actually pretty darn cheap, I say they can make body products with actives without being that pricey either. And I am not even talking about things like retinols or vitamin c, even stuff as cheap as vitamin e and aloe can be used to hype a product and jack up the price so I am always ready to give a stink eye. Pardon my cynicism 😅
Great video! This is so true. It is very expensive for us to add Vitamin C, Retinol, Niacinamide etc. in our Bodycare but we truly believe, that Body Care is really important to treat KP, Bodyacne etc. :)
You make exactly the same point about actives in skin cleansers that Paula Begoun (Paula's Choice products)made many years ago, when she was just writing about beauty products. The products don't stay on your skin long enough to make a difference, and the pH of cleansing products often nullifies the effects of actives, because we have come to expect foaming, sudsing products. So look for AHAs, BHAs, retinol and retinoids in your aftercare products. Creams, lotions or serums you'll be sleeping in. Love your presentations - hope to see more!
You are such a pleasure to watch and learn from. I enjoy going back in time and watching some of your older videos when I’m up to date on the latest ones. You are a wealth of information. Thank you for your time & dedication to us Nerds ❤🤓
I wondered how my current body wash and lotion brand were formulated to keep me from being super dry all winter. They have a lot of the ingredients you discussed. I've been using it so long the cumulative effect is more and more evident. Face and body are good. Now this scalp needs attention, sigh. I have an appointment with a dermatologist next month for more answers and help. Again thank you for sharing your expertise.
Perfect timing! I just bought the Drunk Elephant T.L.C Glycolic Body Lotion recently and am excited to try it out. Also want to try Amlactin now that you mentioned it, since I know the skin on my face loves lactic acid 👀
I have incredibly dry feet and legs (I'm 67 but they've been dry as long as I can remember :) ) I recently started making my own body cream. I use "Feet Rescue" as the base and I add the Ordinary's glycolic toner, the inkey list retinal, some HA and shake it like mad. My legs and feet have NEVER been so lovely :) and now after a shower I put if all over. I did however, order the REN you mention in this video because it sounds perfect for the hands, chest. I think acids and retinal for the body will be game changers.
Love the aquaphor spray for my daughter who has eczema especially during cold season. For my body the Eucerin advance repair lotion has little but of urea to keep my dry skin from cracking during winter season.
Hello dr Shereen, thank you so much for all the info that you so kindly give us . I love this video about body care and I sure took some notes . I look forward to your videos yiu are so pleasant … a breath of fresh air . I am Franco libanaise , living in the USA 🇺🇸 🥰
Ideas for other videos! Scalp folliculitis that JUST. WON’T. HEAL. I literally have wounds throughout my scalp that sting and are super painful. I’ve tried T-gel, shampoos with salicylic acid (leaving on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing), dandruff and psoriasis shampoos…. Nothing works. 2. Butt/thigh folliculitis and hyperpigmentation left behind. 3. Tretinoin on body.
gold bond has a lotion called rough and bumpy skin daily therapy cream, and it has aha, bha, pha, and urea. you can also use the ordinary’s glycolic acid or other exfoliating acids or retinol on your body. i just rub it on like lotion and then put lotion on top. works great for kp, hands, and feet also.
Thanks for this video! I bought the Isdin and I love it! My skin feels so smooth. Just a gentle suggestion: using the word "bipolar" to describe inclement weather can be hard to hear for some people with that condition.
Bipolarity is a word before being a condition. This word existed way before they found out about the mental condition. It is used to refer two opposite extremes. Actually the condition was originally called manic depression and is now commonly called bipolar disorder because it fits the definition of both extremes.
Truly appreciate your informative videos It seems you read my mind. Now i know the products i have been using for my body care with so many trial and errors is doing what its suppose to. Love your work
Dr Shereen, thank you so much for all the information! I love Aveeno products, I’ve been using the body wash and lotion for some time and definitely saw a difference. Have you got any thoughts on deodorants, antiperspirant and the no aluminium trend? xxx

Suffered through severe body acne for YEARS. Tried literally everything. The only thing that saved me was the *Some by Mi AHA BHA PHA Body Cleanser* Nothing else ever helped. I use it in the shower, leave it on for 5 mins and then wash it away. It is amazing value for money and an excellent product.
so thank u ..once again ... 1.going to buy urea lotion we have here in germanya lot of them....i believe neutrogena has one too 2.retinol granactive from ordinary i use on hands neck cause the bottle said to be used only for 3 months once opened... so ... i felt skin felt softer shinier... no side effects 3. waiting for She's skincare line... kindly dont make it super expensive... and pls stick to bare minimum ingredients.(requesting❤) 4. lots of love. p.s. love ur sweater❤
Love the informative videos! Could you do a video on body hyperpigmentation and what product you think are helpful in fading the dark spots and even out the skin tone?
Hi Dr Shereene, I discovered you this week and I finally know what my skin type is. I've started to follow your advice and I can already notice a difference... slowly but surely. Thank you! I have a question; what is the best thing to use to shower with... I mean sponge, etc? (I have a rather sensitive and dry skin).
Can you please do a video on spray tans and self tanners? Are they bad for your skin? Will routine skincare products like retinol and acids etc make the tan fade rapidly? Thank you!
I am looking forward to see a video about hard boils that nerve drain out, tiny blackheads which are difficult to remove, and dark spot in the inner lights .
Thank you this was informative. I have always used the Aveeno oatmeal body wash and lotion but was looking to amp up my body moisturizing game.. Thank you much
Could you address how to get an even skin tone or even color? I know you said that was "the biggest bang for your buck" but I am so overwhelmed on all the different products. Your my absolute all around favorite!
This video was really helpful. I learned a lot from your videos. Thanks, Dr. Idriss. I wish you would make some videos about skin issues such as vitiligo, varicose veins, etc. It could be really helpful too."
Thanks for focusing on the body. Could you describe the products in the description bar and not only provide a link? Being outside the US I often am redirected on the websites and can't see the products
I heard you mention that you may need to leave the fragrance out of your products at first. Was that a tease? Did I miss the announcement? When can we expect them? I would definitely trust and buy anything you created to better my skin. I have already followed your advice on many items which have given me great results. I appreciate you sharing all of your knowledge! Thank you so much!
I love your videos!! ❤️❤️ Could you please make a video of face moisturizers that have no silicones. I find that silicones just don't agree with sunscreen(or some serums) and cause piling. I worry more about sun protection obviously not to mention that it's also a waste of money! Hugs from the UK 🇬🇧
Helpful and informative, as usual! Also, I am SO utterly happy to hear that you like fragrance in skincare becasue I think so many people have demonized it unjustly. Skincare products that have scent (a pleasant one, of course) make me so happy and allow me to enjoy the application experience. Skincare, be it for face or body, is a routine, so it is pleasant to have good olfactory memories associated with it. Thank you for mentioning that in your videos!
Dermatologists warn about additional fragrance in skin care because it can be an irritant for some people, and in sensitive skin individuals and/ or PoC, irritation can cause or contribute to worsening of skin conditions, induce hyperpigmentation, etc. It was a criticized ingredient for valid reason. If you can tolerate and enjoy fragrance, then that advice wasn't for you, so you can skip it.
@@kasa9884 I was referring to the whole approach that fragrances are demonized. A lot of people are afraid of using anything fragranced NOT because they have a problem, but because they “heard” it was bad. I am against this unnecessary paranoia. Fragrance makes skincare products smell and feel pleasant to apply. I can’t even imagine using something unscented because the whole skincare ritual would feel odd to me, like a chore instead of a routine. Also, many people *think* it’s the fragrance thar breaks them out or causes a reaction when, in fact, there could be a dozen of other ingredients that could be causing that. But then again, because of mass paranoia, they blame fragrance right away, and it is annoying and unfair. Finally, the vast majority of brands using scents would use less than 1% of fragrance in their products, so chances are it is not going to irritate anyone. But then again, to each his own. If you or anyone else enjoy using unscented (and in many cases unpleasantly smelling products), nobody’s stopping you. My opinion is that fragrance has and should have a permanent place in skincare, and for those who don’t like it, there are always alternatives.
Hi, throwing it out there in case you see this doc, would you mind making a video for men regarding their skin care regimen. I would love to show my husband I'm not crazy when I tell him to take care of his skin!😂 He pretends not to be interested ,but I see him peak over my shoulder when I watch your videos.. 😉

Because of you, I am now using Gold Bond Retinol Overnight Body Lotion. Very reasonably priced as well - thank you! ❤
Obsessed with your style! So elegant, colorful and chic
You're the best. Thanks for sharing your knowledge so generously and with humor. Happy Saturday!!
You were so right about the body care trend
Can you do a video on Peptide? Would really appreciate. Lots of different opinions out there.
I've been waiting for this video for so long!!!
Also... Hair/scalp care, please.
Hello Doctor. Please make a full video on dehydrated skin with product recommendations. It would be very helpful!
Coconut oil...shea butter....mineral oil
@@mrd6869 as per my understanding oil doesn’t help with ‘water lacking’ skin
gold bond has a lotion called rough and bumpy skin daily therapy cream, and it has aha, bha, pha, and urea. you can also use the ordinary’s glycolic acid or other exfoliating acids or retinol on your body. i just rub it on like lotion and then put lotion on top. works great for kp, hands, and feet also.
Don’t think it has urea. It’s not listed on the ingredients.
I do the same thing!
Thanks for this video! I bought the Isdin and I love it! My skin feels so smooth. Just a gentle suggestion: using the word "bipolar" to describe inclement weather can be hard to hear for some people with that condition.
???
Bipolarity is a word before being a condition. This word existed way before they found out about the mental condition. It is used to refer two opposite extremes. Actually the condition was originally called manic depression and is now commonly called bipolar disorder because it fits the definition of both extremes.
Agreed! I have family members with this disorder...
nb In my Universe, no one I've EVER met has used bipolar as a regular or casual term to mean anything but the disorder...
You really added good content..But it will be very favourable if u add postpartum body care..as the skin gets really dry and dull..
literally been on the hunt for exactly this! It’s a hole in the market for sure! THANK YOU!
So excited to try one of the Urea products ... especially for my feet ! Thank you for the video!!
Just ordered the ISDN body lotion. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and love.
La Roche Posay Lipikar Lait Urea is my body moisturizer HG. I used to suffer from ingrown hairs and dryness but this product solved that.
Good evening, Doc Idriss! Much love from the Philippines. 🇵🇭
I am a skincare nerd. I love all of your videos. I probably should have become a Derm. Too late now, but at least I can still nerd out!

Dr Shereen, thank you so much for all the information!
I love Aveeno products, I’ve been using the body wash and lotion for some time and definitely saw a difference.
Have you got any thoughts on deodorants, antiperspirant and the no aluminium trend?
xxx

I use deodorants. They don't have aluminum. Don't buy antiperspirants or sprays.
Love love your videos. They are my go-to source for skin care. Could you please do a video on toners. Do we need them? How to use toners with active ingredients. Thank you!
New follower and ugh I just adore you, your personality and the knowledge you are sharing with your followers. Thank you!
Suffered through severe body acne for YEARS. Tried literally everything. The only thing that saved me was the *Some by Mi AHA BHA PHA Body Cleanser*
Nothing else ever helped. I use it in the shower, leave it on for 5 mins and then wash it away. It is amazing value for money and an excellent product.
Hi I use that as well and it's really great they also have a body lotion which is light texture
@@cdrob8546 I will definitely try the body lotion as well

Love the informative videos! Could you do a video on body hyperpigmentation and what product you think are helpful in fading the dark spots and even out the skin tone?
Hi Dr Shereene, I discovered you this week and I finally know what my skin type is. I've started to follow your advice and I can already notice a difference... slowly but surely. Thank you! I have a question; what is the best thing to use to shower with... I mean sponge, etc? (I have a rather sensitive and dry skin).
U make my Saturday. U r funny and witty. I luv u and ur discussions on ur channel. Ur the best.
Plz make a video on lighting the dark private areas ..
Always learn so much from you! Farmacy has a body version of their Honeymoon Glow-combination AHA and BHA.
I have the retinol body lotion from Paula's Choice that I love using on my arms and I'm thinking of using it on my legs as well :)
Thank you this was informative. I have always used the Aveeno oatmeal body wash and lotion but was looking to amp up my body moisturizing game.. Thank you much
I would absolutely buy your scented skincare!!!!!!
Love love love this video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ you should make one video specifically for the care of the décolleté 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you there is not enough videos like this
Please do a video about common skin diseases like eczema, cold sores, hair loss folloculitis, dermatitis, body odor etc.
What do you think of the Advanced Clinicals Retinol cream for use on the body?
Could you address how to get an even skin tone or even color? I know you said that was "the biggest bang for your buck" but I am so overwhelmed on all the different products. Your my absolute all around favorite!
I just wanted to say you look fabulous in bright colors!
Did you say your own skincare line? OMG YES PLEASE!
This video was really helpful. I learned a lot from your videos. Thanks, Dr. Idriss.
I wish you would make some videos about skin issues such as vitiligo, varicose veins, etc. It could be really helpful too."
watching the video - pausing and going to put urea lotion all over my arms, chest - coming back to watch the rest of the video. :D
And I just ordered the isdin urea lotion. I rarely watch a video without ordering something you recommend!
I think you are awesome, thank you so much for sharing all of this great info

I was referring to the whole approach that fragrances are demonized.
So rich video! A lot of interesting new ingredients for all of us! Your channel is great. You deserve more. Congrats for the 300k. 💯
I learn so, so much from every one of your videos! Thank you ❤
I’d just politely beg for a link to those eyeglass frames !!!!!! Please !! Exactly what I’ve been looking for
Hi, throwing it out there in case you see this doc, would you mind making a video for men regarding their skin care regimen. I would love to show my husband I'm not crazy when I tell him to take care of his skin!😂 He pretends not to be interested ,but I see him peak over my shoulder when I watch your videos.. 😉
I’ve taken a lot of care of my face, esp due to acne, but never the same amount of care for my neck and décolleté and I’ve def noticed now at 33 that my neck and décolleté look more aged. So I’ve started using everything I do on my face down, but I’ll probably need some expert treatment
OMG thanks Dr. Idriss! This is exactly the video that I have requested! :)
Hello! Can you please make a video and talk a bit about scalp health and products to maintain healthy hair. Thank you very much for funny and informative videos!
