I love BO1, it's my favorite one in the cod franchise. At first I had issues like everyone else had with it. Till I learned how well the Jammer was. Changed everything for me. Pesky little ghost campers would just get destroyed.
It is by far the most fun I have ever had in a multiplayer game. I loved that it was set in the past with more niche weapons thrown in. Snipers were nerfed to oblivion so only people who actually had skill could use them. Wager matches were amazing and the attachments system meant you saved up for the stuff you actually wanted to use instead of waiting until the end to get a good attachment.
Even though I haven't played bo2 in like 8 years, its the first game that comes to my mind when I think of cod multiplayer. Even though the m8 and the msmc where the top dogs you can still compete with the fal, an94, m27, scorpion evo, pdw etc. I love it for its weapon variety, plus the perks, the maps, the camos(remember that comic camo??) I miss it.
BO2 had the best weapon balance in my opinion. R870 was fantastic wanted range use the KSG. LMG the LSAT and hammer. Snipers balista and the other 50 cal bolt action one. Smg and rifles we all know them. Riot shield, pistols, ballistic knife and crossbow were fun af. Maps were amazing. Miss that game but used to play after school from 4-3am having a blast plus the zombies.
@@Ilovecupramen I wish we could go back to that game. Like exactly the same. I feel like cod hasn't been fun for years. They destroyed everything that made it great.
everything about Bo2 fucking rocked. Even down to the menus for zombies. You just wouldnt see that kind of effort put into a cod today. What they are pushing out now are business models not video games
BO3 was my favorite for sure. High skill gap, great maps, no camping, fun guns and movement. And yes I've played all the cods, even the ones that Marksman hasn't.
But now there’s cheaters that use multiple specialist abilities, and weapons with zero cool-down, and if they suck while doing that they just slap on the invincibility, and invisibility cheats. People have gone out of their way to sell modded accounts on BO3 it’s disgusting.

I haven't played BO4 but the BO games are the best CoD titles. Hell I love BO3. It's in my A tier. I loved BO3. A very well designed game. Even though people camped you had the option to play aggressively. Same with BO2. BO2 will still be S tier. Infinity Ward sucks.
I was going through the video to see where you'd put Black Ops 2. I am glad you understand its value. The best. Absolutely amazing setting, amazing game.
@@moonlessnight1851 knifes were so bad 😂😂 they had crazy lunge but half the time they didnt connect and the best way to use a knife was the attachment on the b23r
I think bo3 was INSANELY well balanced. This was true for the maps, scorestreaks, perks, specialists and guns. Only issue I had was that the brecci shotgun was op and incredbily annoying to go up against, other than that it was near flawless.
Such a good game. It honestly could still hold up today, it just sucks that nobody really plays it anymore. If people still played BO3, I'd definitely choose that over any other CoD we've gotten the past decade.
Yeaa it was a very good game. Treyarch really did well with most of their series. Bo3 was decent with the skills gap. Probably the best balanced game since BO2 to be honest.
Brecci was better than every gun, every pay to win gun was statistically better than most base guns (ppsh, m14, Olympia, mp40, that stupid disc shooter thing) the game was anything but balanced
I loved everything about BO3 except for the loot crate system in the game. That made it feel kind of pay-to-win. Imagine BO3 but with just a item shop and maybe a battle pass, perfection!
supply drops* and it wasn’t paid to win like cod: AW.. it was usually just cosmetics/camos but eventually they started adding in more and more guns in the supply drops and although it wasn’t like the variants in aw but it was usually pretty well balanced but some guns were op
Yeah I didn’t care for supply drops. It wasn’t necessarily pay to win but that just makes it a pointless money sink for most players. You could spend twice the cost of the game itself on loot boxes and there was a very real possibility that you could walk away with Jack shit. RNG + Duplicates made it impossibly unreliable. I miss being able to just unlock them. Like what if they tied them into the prestige system. Like you prestige and reset guns, but the next time you reach max level, you get a new gun for a random class for your trouble.
I do think they added quite a bit of guns to it from that but you can atleast earn those points by just playing and getting crates although alot of ppl did just buy a bunch and get all the weapons
Black ops 1 and Advanced Warfare are definitely my two favorites. Black ops introduced the betting system with party games and I never got tired of the way you could customize everything. Down to the reticle glass color. Zombies we're badass, not world at war good but definitely right on it. The music was phenomenal, especially in the campaign man!!! Now Advanced Warfare was just so different and it clicked with me in every way. I loved the movement I got it down so fast, the campaign was so unique I loved it and the soundtrack. The maps we're actually really well made in my opinion. The guns were definitely outclassed but you stood a chance with others. Exo zombies felt a lot more wacky than hard. But I enjoyed them none the less. I haven't really enjoyed a CoD since then. But just my personal opinion.
I liked Cold War over MW19 because it fit my play style better unless there where sniper's as you said. I enjoyed the maps a lot more as well, and thought they flowed better. I also liked the higher TTK in CW opposed to the faster MW19 TTK. Dead Silence was another thing, it is better as a perk for me rather than a filed upgrade. I hate the feeling of having to wait to actually move around the map to try and make a play. I think the MW games (MW19) (MW22) are really limited by not have the dead silence perk. I have more reason but I just really enjoy CW over MW19.
You could use attachments with Overkill in COD4. It was the only way to have underbarrel launchers with 3 shots. If the primary and secondary had the same launcher, you got 3 shots on one, a single on the other. What you couldn't have, with or without Overkill, was multiple attachments, until MW2 introduced the Bling Perk.
I know ghosts was not a good game, but the perk system they implemented was amazing IMO. It allowed for much more precise balancing between the perks. This is something they should have brought to future CODs.
I’m glad u spoke about the honour these games used to have, now you have full teams of ttvs with riot shield overkill shotgun classes without even being provoked, the player base in my opinion had a lot to do with the downfall of the franchise
it definitely does, and not only that, most of the newer cods only have like 2 or 3 guns that dominate. look at bo2 there were so many guns at the top, msmc, pdw, mp7, scar, fal, m27, mtar, m8a1, an94, skorpion, you get it lol, this game wasn't dominated by just 2 or 3 guns it was so many guns that you could compete with
BO1 and world at war is the best cods I ever played. World at war maps were so good and balanced and fun. World at war should be a blueprint on how cod maps should be made. BO1 was just a classic
Bo4 was def underrated as hell. Fun as well. Hope you go back at give it a valid shot. Operator system while some didn’t enjoy it. i liked it a lot just for the fact that they where fun to use and timing the use of it can literally bring games that are a lost cause back to a fighting chance. And most of the abilities where hard counters to camping sob’s
The weapons were fairly rounded, maps were ok, those having some of the maps have a different variant is unique. Some of the operators were kind of a pain in the ass, but there were a bareboned mode for those who don't want to deal it them
Game was hella fun cause it took skill and best weapon skins ever and pick 10 system but not very noob friendly cause the skill gap so comp it snd we’re the only viable game modes for good players or else ur getting shitty teammates most the time
I think it was a solid game. It improved on a lot of things that BO3 didn't have, but also weirdly felt a little stripped down at the same time. But I definitely had a blast with BO4. Especially compared to the new CoDs.
A lot of people are gonna say that the cod they grew up with and enjoyed the most is the best one. But as far as gameplay, this is the best list i have ever seen. Well done
Fun fact, they announced that patch for Modern Warfare 2 that was never sent out. Blame Truth did a MW2 rant video back in the day (hasn't changed, can't blame him really), and FourZeroTwo (Robert Bowling, IW community manager at the time, infamous stealth clown), commented on the video saying how they're working on an update to fix this stuff and I believe he said it should be released soon, although not 100% on that. It never happened obviously, which is a real shame.
Don't forget bo1s maps it had good maps and a few were carried over to bo2, studio a.k.a. firing range, The rainy version of summit. A map that I wouldn't mind make more of an appearance would be Havana, as well as villa
Bo1 maps are goated. I went back and look at the map list and i like nearly all of them. I cant say that about a lot of cods. Firing range has been remastered way too many time. One of the best maps ever
As someone who started his Cod journey on the PS2 playing Big Red One it’s sad to see what happened to the franchise. MW2 was peak COD for me and it hasn’t been the same since. I feel sorry for the young ones who missed out on the legendary games lol
I mean its all opinion based. I started on cod 4 and still rank bo2 and bo3 above mw2 any day due to a balanced multiplayer and the best zombies in cod history
@@emmetmcgovern1903 Bo4 got me back into COD. The only thing I ended up not liking about it was that operator mod for the stingray to get those 2 fast explosive shots. Felt like the most OP weapon in COD, made worse by being in a supply drop. Real shame because outside of that, I loved BO4!
@@kevooo1250 yeah but there were operators, so the game sucked ass. not to mention the godawful weapon balancing with the micromg, vmp, crossbow thing, and the explosive stingray.
@Hjalleson I really wish they didn't add those low skill OP weapons that made the trash cans that used them feel like they were actually good at the game when they were just using the most busted weapons in game. I share those same complaints but even with all that it was a way better CoD than almost every CoD that came after it.
@@bushmonster1702 it was actually pretty fun it was basically 3 different guns in 1 regular laser beam, a charge rifle that 1 shot anywhere on the body and a Marksman rifle simi auto that killed in 2-3 shots iirc
You did wwII dirty. I wasn’t a snd player but all the party modes they had allowed you to mix sweaty games with fun games. What other cod had prop hunt?!? The headquarters was also pretty cool with the shooting range and the 1v1 area. Also you got crates by doing missions or from playing the game and the cosmetics they had were dope. I’d say it’s okay to pretty good tbh
Back then there was sort of a gentleman’s agreement on not using OP perks, guns, whatever. Nowadays you really only see the same guns and everyone trying in pubs as if it was an MLG try out…we didn’t know we were in the good days :/
In the sbmm era, people only care about doing good because you are only going against sweats if you are a competent player. Then the only way to keep up is to use the broken shit. It makes it less fun for sure. I blame the mm on this.
For the record Marksman played BO2 cause Ghosts and AW were flops. He played BO3 through the WW2, IW, and eventually MWR. Then when BO4 came out it was the time for fortnite. Ps: AW had pick 13, while BO3 had pick 10. Imagine putting your scorestreaks in each individual class lmao
I'm so glad you put BO2 at the top, that was the best CoD I ever played and I've played the CoD franchise since Finest Hour came out. The customization, and pick 10 were amazing features, maps were great.
@@Ethan-lr6qy IVE BEEN SAYING THIS PEOPLE BEEN SCREAMING FOR REALISM WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING YOU JUST CANT FUCKING HAVE THAT WITH COD OR THE FRANCHISE GOES TO SHIT.
It’s a toss up between mw2 and bo2. Bo2 copied the template that mw2 laid out but with better balance but in return in mw2 had the better maps and the best killstreaks in the franchise. Both should have been at the top imo
BO1 and original MW2 are my favorites just because I spent a lot of time playing with buddies in these games. I didn’t care about over/underpowered guns and perks. But rather the time I spent playing with my friends and genuinely enjoying my time spent with the game made them my favorites. PS3 Bluetooth earpiece chats were the best. Just had a different feel than playing with a headset today does.
As someone who's been playing since Call of Duty 1 in the very early days, I completely agree with this list and love the brutal honesty with every title you ranked.
Not a popular opinion but I actually liked and had a lot of fun with BO4. The specialist abilities spiced things up and provided the opportunity for more varied strategy in objective gamemodes, and I had a ton of fun rocking side arms as my primary and just zipping around with the map with a pistol or shotgun.
bro i love seeing others talk abt how good and fun bo4 was, but since fortnite was popping and cod just kept dropping disappointment ppl never gave it a chance. but the special weapon mods were op like the rampart with double high caliber or the skull splitter, but man was this game fun
The infinite warfare slander is crazy Soo many hate the game just to hate it It has one of the best campaigns, a great zombies mod Very fun mods and very unique maps Its definitely top 5
The problem with Vangaurd was it felt like they were trying to make a serious game and then said "fuck it" and added Astronaut Cat suits and Godzilla. Which oddly enough made it memorable
anyone thats been playing cod for years could see that the bones of Vanguard were good. The main problems with that game was the fast TTK, 1 map and 1 gun per season, Forward Intel/High Alert/Piercing Vision along with the absolutely horrible maps they put in the game. When I was on Tuscan, Berlin, Desert Siege, Bocage, or Gavutu with an Automaton slide canceling and absolutely 180 shitting on people it was actually really fun but the other 20 maps in the game were all dogshit/not good/mid. London Docks from the first WW2 was in the game files from launch and instead they gave us fucking USS Texas. The worst part is Sledgehammer apparently had a shit ton of ideas and actually wanted to make the game better but Activision butchered their funds after it flopped and said no to all the cool shit they wanted to do. Reoccurring theme with CoD games as of recent tbh, release a product with great potential and ruin it with supbar and often negligent decision making.
@@1manX I’m 31 now. Been playing COD since OG MW1. And IMO Bocage HP will always be goated in my eyes. Shit was so fun on ranked. TTK wasn’t that bad compared to MW2. And the headshot multiplier on the automaton wasn’t as broken as the Taq is. So sad they discontinued ranked on Vanguard.
I used to love having the choice to stay in the lobby or leave after the game, me and my friends had many a good evening playing against other teams multiple times. This lead to us having to learn and adapt as each team got to know the other teams routes, play styles and which player was the better on the team so we would have to double up on them to get the trade kill. It seems now the game is just about getting players a 'win' no matter what as the devs/publisher/etc seem to think winning a game while getting stomped 0-10+ in kills/deaths will make ppl buy stuff.
my favorite cod based off gameplay for is advanced warfare. I loved using the xmg duel miniguns and then they buffed them. it brings back so many memories, but i do agree it had some faults. nothing will ever replace those early cod 4 and cod WW zombie days
I remember watching your bo2 and bo3 trying time videos, I really love two cod's and I'm glad you still hold them in high regards, even with the shitty matchmaking bo3 had and you had to deal with 😅, I'm not sure why Infinity Ward insist taking core aspects out of cod, they are literally the kings of breaking shit that wasn't broken or things no one ask to change, there's nothing wrong changing things but when you take away and then add your not really adding anything. I have Nothing to say about Sledgehammer. Out of the current 3 Cod devs, I think Treyarch is the best at what they do, best map design, with their iconic 3 lane maps (probably the best way to design a cod map), good gun balancing, and even offers a phenomenal zombies experience, and they keep the aspects of cod that makes it fun.
I was younger when bo3 came out so I didn’t have a good group to play with like I do today and I really wish they could release a game with that much positive innovation today. Also I think that mw2019 was over hated and when it came out for the first few months everyone LOVED it and it’s because it was solid all around however, I do think it got worse at time progressed
i dont feel this. I think most ppl who were good at cods didint like mw at first me included. I still think it bad and one of the worst cods ever made hands down
I saw a lot of these coming and I gotta ask if we can get a perk tier list. Some will be no brainers but it would be interesting looking at your view on these perks with its new system. Like is it worth the few minute wait? And stuff like that. Keep up the good videos
I thought the flying in this game was the best out of the 3 jet pack games. And all the guns were also balanced and the maps where all great.!! Would definitely put this ahead of mw2 2022
@@CarlosLopez-tc9bw tbh i think the thing holding iw back was it was too futuristic for cod, like it wouldve been a great game and could make for its on franchise. just doesnt fit in with regular cod
As someone who got prestige master and dark matter I think the best way to describe Bo4 was just played like cold war that looked like bo3 with futuristic stuff and abilities but snipers wasn't as crazy in bo4 because snipers actually didn't have aim assist which was great.
Idk BO4 had more weight to it if that makes sense. Cold War kinda feels like you're hovering slightly above the ground. Also Manual Healing is absolutely golden to me. Sad that BO4's servers seem to be defective because they don't work.
BO1 best all-around CoD. Everything was great. The guns, the money system, the maps, gameplay, fun factor, zombies, etc. 10/10 peak gaming. OG MW2 is right there though. And BO4 is my dark horse. Loved that one.
BO4 became a decent game at the end of its life, making the guns available to be purchased with the cases you collected should’ve been added way way earlier. The operator mods were a fun addition, some were op af (ex. Impact blast), also movement was smooth.
Movement was the best I've had in any CoD(I jumped from BO2 to BO4 didn't play any game in between those years) and they did that at the end cause they knew they couldn't squeeze any more cash out of the players so they decided to finally make a good reward system. I miss BO4 a lot
It was well polished, but it was a WW2 game. That era is so overdone it’s not even funny. If the same love was put into a game with a different time period, could’ve been awesome.
I know you didn't play much IW but I feel like it was a very smooth game, Bo3 took the pros and cons from Aw and improved it, Iw took the pros and cons from Bo3 and made IW, the jetpack is the smoothest out of the 3 but that also created a more jet pack focused gun fights where people would literally play a whole game without even touching the ground, while in Bo3 you mostly used it just to get around the map and reach a position, they also made the best supply drop system by far. I will say the overall visuals and maps looked much better in bo3 and was more vibrant, but IW played so much smoother and literally any gun and any play style was viable. Bo3 had very strong guns and you really couldn't compete unless you were using a good weapon too. In Iw you can literally use anything and beat anyone, was only hated because of when it came out, people were sick of jetpacks so lots of people never even tried it, sbmm was there but wasn't actually that strong. But that's just my opinion, I also agree ww2 games are the worst, the fact that they have to be historically accurate means the game is severely limited to what it can do. Bo2 was so good because they were able to push out of the realm of reality and implement a futuristic environment while still not stepping out too far like the jet pack games.
The weapon variants were so bad in iw tho. Yur point on every weapon being useable is a lie when some of the variants were so op and the only way you could get them was grind a lot or just use real money. Bo3 on the other hand you could literally use any weapon and still beam the other guy. and the movement was smoother imo. I do think iw is hella underrated but comparing it to a game like bo3 its dogshit.
@@tupla1122What? They have the same movement system and near identical TTK. How could you not compare them? Marksman is a clown for placing them three tiers apart. Anyone who loves BO3 and hates IW is not serious, they play the fucking same. Is aesthetics more important than gameplay to them?
BO2 Marksman I’m glad you never forgot your roots I literally grew up watching you play BO2 my early teen years mostly consisted of marksman BO2 vids literally all the time much love brother 🙏🏽💜
I also loved ghost, but amplify and stalker ruined the game. For me ghost had the best perk system as well. So many options and the detail that you can see what perk someone is using in the killcam was dope. Warhawk > strikezone
To me mw19 had the potential to be an all time great. Like the bones were there, but the developers really just have such a disconnect with the community. It’s still top 3 for me because I love the attention to detail and the gunplay, but it could have been so much better 😭
This ^^ is the issue with this generation of gamers. Tbh y'all care more about attention to detail or whether or not water splashes or reacts realistically than the gameplay itself.

One of the best lists. I love how the older cods have a lot of the weapon categories equally good / equally overpowered, no / heavily toned down SBMM was great, also treyarch is generally good with the 3 lane small map design. The better cods were so simple swell, feel like everything is complicated for no reason now.
When he was talking about people not having respect in a game and using sitrep pro and having those classes to melt people all that popped in my head was the striker with a modded controller 🤣
BO2 probably has the most maps that are good like there arent many maps you'd get that you wouldnt wanna play and it was futuristic but only in ways for balance like being able to see ppl through walls but only if they dont move and emps to stop ppl from setting up in a camp spot and blackhats to hack ppls equipment if they camp. Also i felt like even the pistols could kill multiple ppl bc no guns really took more than 4 shots at medium range also they didnt have supply drops or pay to win things like in other games. It was basic but very polished and even the zombies were really good and the campaign was one of the few i played through multiple times bc they even let you create a class for levels with choices in the levels. The only thing you would pay for is DLC and extra camos and the extra camos were like $2 and all were pretty well done.
@@takoda100 it had a lot of maps that i still remember the names of and a lot of the maps were so good even the few maps they remade from older CODs they made better like nuketown 2025 and studio. They had a few meh maps but none that I'd consider awful where the new games have all awful and a few meh maps.
Black Ops one was fun, once they sorted out the 'lag comp' - On console you could ADS a corner and your aim would track a player coming round the corner about 3 steps before the character model came into view, this was and probably still is the result of many 'insta deaths'
I played soooo much black ops in Afghanistan with all the boys. We would come back from missions and play on two different Xbox’s and we could connect them through LAN Bluetooth. Those are some of the funniest memories of my life!
Multiplayer has been screwed since they started making Warzone. Most of the bad game design decisions come around because they affect Warzone more and the multiplayer modes suffer because of it. Warzone is designed to be more campy and louder and the aim-assist got cranked up to allow controller players to compete at the longer distances. If Warzone and the multiplayer version of CoD was separate there would be a lot less balancing issues

@@possumxl damn, black ops 2 was the best for me from purchasable DLC, zombies, multiplayer, $5 camo packs, everything was just amazing, origins, buried, etc. just amazing game over all for me 😎
@@Efnol yea pretty much. I don’t argue that.
Came over from mrtlexify's channel to support this vid, real solid summary of each game, massive W😎👍
I was going through the video to see where you'd put Black Ops 2. I am glad you understand its value. The best. Absolutely amazing setting, amazing game.
Really the top is the only spot for bo2 not much was wrong with it. The only thing I remember that was an issue with it was the knifing sucked

The sheer brutality and gore of Cod5 made it great. No other cod hit that setting properly.
Balance came at the cost of updating the game every week. Guns were inconsistent cause of how many tweaks they got through tout the year
@@Ashnnoon steam I play custom zombie maps. Super fun. I tried multiplayer and it was pretty dead. Also hackers everywhere
Battle passes need to go
@@qsfk. as a 4 k/d player in bo3 the only gun i had a problem with from supply drops was the xmc. that gun was so overpowered it was insane
Same. I feel like nobody else has this opinion lol
I loved AW. There's so many maps I have fond memories of
Advanced warfare was amazing because it was the first of its kind, then they became obsessed with trying to replicate it and failed.
The Cod4 -> bo2 time was amazing. Those of us who were fortunate enough to enjoy those games in their prime were truly blessed
@@TheBadash44 bo3 makes aw look like shi
I liked Cold War over MW19 because it fit my play style better unless there where sniper's as you said. I enjoyed the maps a lot more as well, and thought they flowed better. I also liked the higher TTK in CW opposed to the faster MW19 TTK. Dead Silence was another thing, it is better as a perk for me rather than a filed upgrade. I hate the feeling of having to wait to actually move around the map to try and make a play. I think the MW games (MW19) (MW22) are really limited by not have the dead silence perk. I have more reason but I just really enjoy CW over MW19.
This is 100% facts
100%
Fully agree. Also I’m a big zombies guy so MW2019 not having that automatically brought it down below CW for me.
I forgot all about the bling perk!! Wasn't it a dollar sign for the perk symbol? Lol
I know ghosts was not a good game, but the perk system they implemented was amazing IMO. It allowed for much more precise balancing between the perks. This is something they should have brought to future CODs.
They took that from Homefront and I don’t know why we have not seen it since.
It was not a bad game either
@@ki11atj49i mean ttk, design and maps wise it was one of the worst in mp atleast lol
The perk system was awful.
I think WaW had the best perks and equipment balance for multiplayer. There were SO many perks that countered super specific things and I loved it.
World at war was goat the eerie feel and gritty maps was so fun
A good chunk of those were useless like Shades perk. Nobody used the flares at all...
World at War is arguably the best or top 2-3 of the entire franchise. No Question.
I’m glad u spoke about the honour these games used to have, now you have full teams of ttvs with riot shield overkill shotgun classes without even being provoked, the player base in my opinion had a lot to do with the downfall of the franchise
Exactly promise you if everyone wasn’t trying so hard every game to be a ttv nerd a game like vanguard would have been pretty fun
it definitely does, and not only that, most of the newer cods only have like 2 or 3 guns that dominate. look at bo2 there were so many guns at the top, msmc, pdw, mp7, scar, fal, m27, mtar, m8a1, an94, skorpion, you get it lol, this game wasn't dominated by just 2 or 3 guns it was so many guns that you could compete with
@@binisez couldn’t of been put any better bro
@@Ashnno a little stripped down? Yeah... turns out the original concept was completely shafted. BO4's timeline was initially supposed to be after BO3

Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 1 are my favourite years playing cod.
Sad to see COD’s best days are behind them…
A lot of people are gonna say that the cod they grew up with and enjoyed the most is the best one.
I remember this lmao. Game could've lived longer had the update been out
Robert also said final stand wasn't going to be in MW3 (2011) and yet they added final stand and dead mans hand into that game.
Call of Duty has officially become the MCU of video games
Honestly bo4, bo3 and bo2 were the only cods where I would never get bored of. The way those games were set up just were so amazing
Bo4 is my pick for most underrated cod
@@emmetmcgovern1903 easily, without operators that game would've been golden imo.

I’d say it’s okay to pretty good tbh
yeah the dlc weapons were so easy to get. i spent like max 50e to the game and had most of the weapons
this is like a guy trying to decide which fifa game is the best lol
Back then there was sort of a gentleman’s agreement on not using OP perks, guns, whatever. Nowadays you really only see the same guns and everyone trying in pubs as if it was an MLG try out…we didn’t know we were in the good days :/
In the sbmm era, people only care about doing good because you are only going against sweats if you are a competent player. Then the only way to keep up is to use the broken shit. It makes it less fun for sure. I blame the mm on this.
Everyone in MW3 ran the most op shit. IDK where this gentleman's agreement was but it wasn't in any lobby I faced.

Is there a reason why the thumbnail has SBF featured? Sam Bankman-Fried 😮😂
BO1 and original MW2 are my favorites just because I spent a lot of time playing with buddies in these games. I didn’t care about over/underpowered guns and perks. My fav except maybe bo2

Always been a believer that Vanguard wasn’t as bad as the community made it out to be. Ranked in that game is up there IMO
Wait that isn't a thing anymore??
my favorite cod based off gameplay for is advanced warfare. I loved using the xmg duel miniguns and then they buffed them. it brings back so many memories, but i do agree it had some faults. nothing will ever replace those early cod 4 and cod WW zombie days
Imagine putting BO1 in the same tier as Advanced warfare
“You can’t add a laser or anything cool or fun.” You see you can, because that’s exactly what Vanguard did.
and that's why it sucked. It tried to be fortnite
call of duty used to be about being badass

I was younger when bo3 came out so I didn’t have a good group to play with like I do today and I really wish they could release a game with that much positive innovation today.
Also I think that mw2019 was over hated and when it came out for the first few months everyone LOVED it and it’s because it was solid all around however, I do think it got worse at time progressed
i dont feel this. I think most ppl who were good at cods didint like mw at first me included. I still think it bad and one of the worst cods ever made hands down
you don't even know how much the skill gap decreased because of the gunsmith system instead of pick 10
Mw2019 isnt hated enough
I almost shed a tear remembering how good black ops 2 was it was very well balanced all around and league play was awesome
As a competitive player first, Cold War >>> MW19, not close. I get why MW19 is so popular for the casual fan base though.

100% agreed. It has a rough launch, but post-overhaul WW2 was amazing from a pure gameplay standpoint. It's second only to BO2 for me
I’m having de ja vu. Could have sworn you did this list already.
Is aesthetics more important than gameplay to them?

i remember when everyone in ffa would only snipe and trick shot but now no one does
BO2 probably has the most maps that are good like there arent many maps you'd get that you wouldnt wanna play and it was futuristic but only in ways for balance like being able to see ppl through walls but only if they dont move and emps to stop ppl from setting up in a camp spot and blackhats to hack ppls equipment if they camp.
Fr bo2 only bad map fr is aftermath or maybe drone but those were both better then alot of maps nowadays

I’m very very glad and blessed that I got to experience the “Golden Erra” of COD.
have played most cods. my list
1.bo3
2.bo2
3.mw3
4.mw2
5.mw2019
bo3 had so much to do compared to older cods. guns and specialists were really balanced. great maps and great movement. no debate
The Pick 10 system was used in several CODs. BO3 used the pick 10. AW used the pick 13
Infinite Warfare had an awesome zombies mode IMO, probably the only positive
Black Ops 1 was peak for me. Loved all the maps, the sniping was satisfying as hell, the tomahawk was fantastic, probably had some of the best zombie content in the franchise, the cod bucks/points system for attachments with the contracts was cool, campaign was sick with the Vietnam backdrop, I could go on... Great game
Cod 3 has a special place in my heartl loved the big teams and vehicles
