Some people (me) do like the wild colours and don't like it as overly soft as the Novablast. I loved the Noosa 14 - put over 1000km in them.

Cousin of.. Novablast 3 (didn't like it), way lighter (215g), cheaper, less coushioned/padded, nimble, nice rocker and FF Blast+.. seems like a pretty good lightweight daily trainer for 2024

Agreed. One of my favourite daily trainers. It works for me as does the Evoride Speed 2. I think both shoes are underrated but represent good value for money because they come on sale due to them being unloved by the masses.

Love the Noosa 15 for recovery runs and easy run.
    Novablast 4 clunky..

Agreed, high max cushioned shoes almost feels like running on sand to me depending on the type of foam. The landing is nice and soft but you sink in too much that you actually feel like you have to work harder pushing off.

I have v14 and the geometry is really smooth. FF Blast+ should make it even better. Novablast has a more disconnected heel and forefoot.

Not everyone is into high stack max cushioned shoes MEG!!! Including this guy, prefer mid to low stack shoes and I don't always want to run on pillows. I've been running on the Noosa 14's and I love the Flyte Foam on those. Felt like an even balance of responsiveness and cushioning. How does regular Flyte Foam compare to the Blast + version? I do agree the colors are always funky and an acquired taste, but so are us triathletes 😊

I always admired the Noosa line for the exotic, fun colors!

I like the Novablast line but the Noosa Tri, Evoride Speed and Glideride line have a lot to offer. They utilise a great rocker and have more than enough stack to work as a proficient daily trainer. And the beauty is you can usually pick them up at heavily discounted prices because they aren't as loved as the promoted Superblast and Novablast lines.

And they are soooo lightweight, it’s awesome. Actually this post was better than this whole clunky video.

Asics EvoRide Speed is where it’s at. It’s got good old FFBlast used in the NB1 and NB2, but feels more like the same formulation in the NB1. It’s got the rocker. AHAR outsole. The upper is breathable and light. Doesn’t look crazy. Locks down really well, and you can pick the first version, which is better than the second IMO, for about $80 or less.

I wear these for sprint triathlons because you can go sockless. They are great for tempo runs too. I really like the wild looks of the Noosa series

I love the Noosa Tri 15. I hate the lack of volume for my instep in most shoes. I ran a half marathon in them. The plusses are it has great underfoot feel for a daily trainer. Much better than Hokas which have almost no volume. It just turns over so well. Further, it is so durable. 500 miles no problem in these. I love the colorways in these. Not for everyone but for me I like shoes that start a conversation. Lastly, they are really inexpensive compared to most other shoes these days. I can afford any shoe I want but I like everything including the value about this shoe. The 15s just went on sale at Road Runner and Asics websites for $89-99 USD. I bought two more pairs and I hope the new version is as great. Lastly, although I appreciate their opinion, not every shoe is for these two. Maybe they're for the 40 something who runs a half marathon per year and runs to feel good.

Versions 13 (5:50 mile PR) and 14 (1:36 half PR) were great. 15 not so much. 16 feels like a return to what I liked about 13 and 14. Lightweight, durable foam, can cover a variety of paces without forcing you to do something you don’t want to do.

I really like novablast 4 , trail version I have is really nice for training runs on gravel road style trails where I live. Seems a bit chunky at first but lighter and smoother and just right cushion the longer I run … definitely glad I got it.

This shoe now replaces the Magic Speed, so fast, tempo days. MS 4 is a max stack, carbon-plated super trainer to rival Skyward X, Neo Vista, etc.

I walk and use machines now because of injuries (joint replacement and stress fractures) and like the 14s because the soul doesn't flex and they feel good on days when I want some stability in the sole with not a lot of weight or drop. I enjoy your reviews.

As a triathlete the Noosa tri has always been a daily trainer. The only races i used it for were aquathlons where the upper is perfect to prevent rubbing when youve still got wet feet.

Up until version 14 they came with an extra pair of speed laces for faster transitions from bike to run but now Asics doesn't include them anymore.

I have the 14 and the Novablast 3. I like the Noosa much more than the Novablast. It's more comfortable for me, feels faster, more breathable, lighter, I like the rocker, and from the color point of view, I'm in the live camp.

Unless they changed the noosa missing that there is a liner for running sockless is a big omission. I love my 14s with the speed laces, slip on and off is massively convenient. I use as lifestyle shoes but am happy to run in them.

Some people do not want max cushion shoes for easy runs especially on mixed terrain. The previous versions were light and had a nice heel entry which helped for an Achilles tendon injury, not sure if these have changed that design?

If it’s similar to the Noosa 15, you’re getting a different ride & more pronounced heel lock vs the Novablast 4. Also I think that hole in the tongue (HA!) is for the bungle lace to help keep it out of the way? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wait no that's one of my favorite parts! It makes it more casual (as it should be since it's just first thoughts so it gives it contrast over a full review), it's more personal cause you get a feel for where they live and just generally of Baltimore (aka greatest city in America :)), I guess they'll never be able to please everyone but I really hope they never stop making these videos cause they're my favorite by far. Great review and great catch at the end!

Since it’s in your name, I’ll ask you. What are the characteristics of a “Tri” shoe? I have the 14. Seems fine as a shorter distance shoe that turns over quickly. Beyond that, I don’t really get it. I would think triathletes would want more cushion since they’re running after getting off the bike.

    • @Pearlandtriathlete
      @Pearlandtriathlete 22 дні тому +2

@@davidernst5708 the reason it’s considered a triathlon shoe is because it can be worn comfortably without socks and comes with bungee shoe laces(faster to put on). However Most people nowadays use plated shoes for triathlons including me.
