Did you hear on the radio that Father Christmas is challenging kids to try as many fruit & vegetables as they can before Christmas?! 🤶 🎄 🍏 🍌 🍐 🍓 🥕 🍇 The easy peelers are one of his favourites! Hehe
When my son was young the dentist worried about 2 things to the parents, raisins and fruit snacks. I was expecting pop and candy to be the concern but not really. Though my son still does not eat pop and candy. Dental education at school showed him brown teeth and he is averse now. Said to brush after the raisins and fruit snacks. They are sticky foods so I guess it makes sense. So before 10 didn’t put in lunch since he could not brush but did give at home where he could brush. Not that he brushes well, but picking battles. I heard it’s hard to get kids into dentist at the moment over there. School was super picky about snacks in the classroom so I never put anything in the lunch the teachers would scold him for if he grabbed it out of lunch box. So I gave the cookies at home. The list was really odd. Pretzels fine potato crisps bad. Both loaded with salt. Muffin okay cupcake bad. Some muffins worse than some cupcakes. I figured I knew he would eat apple slices grapes and baby carrot. So he got 2 of the three and a sandwich and maybe pretzels. I think pirate booty okay at some point. Mind you he could have the forbidden food in lunchroom, they even sold the forbidden food in lunch room. When he was about 8 or 9 he could buy snacks from the lunchroom. But he brought the meal. He sometimes bought white milk as well. The water bottle from home could be drunk at desk all day long. Refilled. Honestly I think water is the best change to school from when I was a kid. We were also allowed to send zip lock plastic bags for the grapes and sandwich. They did come home with all trash but I liked that. I could see he ate and what he didn’t eat. I think the plastic bags are better for things not going dry and hard. But the bento boxes are cute. Then for middle school 6th grade new building went cold turkey with the home lunches and just had him buy lunch. 800 plus kids all the back and forth for the lunch to and from locker just not enough time and it was great he tried a few more foods.
Good variety of foods! It’s always a good idea to put things they don’t normally eat in the lunch boxes as they may be influenced by their friends… always a bonus!
Back to school last Wednesday here. My daughter had school dinners once then I’m back to making her packed lunches. As a child school dinners were a treat as we could choose what we had, she doesn’t seem so bothered 😅 at least I know exactly what she’s eating when I do them though.
The long pole-type ones I think I bought from one of the supermarkets, might have been Morrisons or Tesco? Sorry I can't remember exactly! The other small block ones I ordered from.amazpn I believe, it was quite a long time ago that I got them xx

I never put butter on a sandwich that has something else like jam or lunch meat.
My eldest likes butter and so do I, I would think it weird to have it without butter haha. But my 2nd son cannot stand it! X
