What I love about only fools the most is how grounded it is. Every character even one of appearance are believable and are so realistic. The way Jumbo has a pop at del saying he always enjoyed embarrassing him. But offered him the chance of a life time later. Mirrors a lot of truth for me. In reality you can spend decades away from your close friends. But nothing changes when you see each other again. You will still argue but will also lay in the middle of the road to prevent traffic hitting them.
The actor who plays Jumbo has also played another character (Also Australian). He bought a Cortina MK2 convertible from Del Boy I think in Series 1.
Nick Stringer, always popped up in British tv shows from mid 70s onwards. Saw him in the Professionals, The Bill, Press Gang, Minder, Open all hours and others

So they changed it originally he was meant to say yes after Rodney gets rejected. And then a new spin of was going to start called hot rod.
