If Roger Lloyd Pack had been alive when this was made, it would have been so great for him to walk into the cafe, look at Beckham and say "Alright Dave".

This sketch was written by Jim and David Sullivan, the sons of the late John Sullivan, creator and writer of Only Fools and Horses who died in 2011. Jim and David put the sketch together, using some unused material their father had left behind in his files at home.
Yes I smacked of their father's talent, which obviously passed down to a new generation. Let's hope they use it wisely. And Yes I agree that David Beckham was great in his role much to .y surprise. Could he have an other string to his bow one wonders?

I'm 40 and American, and I've just started watching OFAH. I'm on season (series!) 2 and loving it. This follows The League of Gentlemen, Are You Being Served?, and the Irishs' Father Ted. Incredible comedies, I thank the UK for their shows!
I really love watching their show "Only Fools and Horses" it makes me laugh till I cry. Even though they've aged so much their characters are still the same and in high spirits, God bless them :)
@@joshmorris-ashton7793 I'm.far fromm alone! Caricatures not characters. Too much US style sentimentality. Over use of simple slapstick. Unrealistic portrayal.of Peckham.Total over exposed on UK Gold. Is that enough ?!? Not even John Sullivans best show! Dear John and Just Good Friends are far superior! ( Both Lyndhurst and especially, Jason are excellent straight actors. Jason should be remembered for Frost, not this frankly average tosh !)
@Frogsquatch Mk II I know that, and I couldn't agree more, but the problem is that more often than not, people are willing to roll over and do as they're told. This year proved that more than ever. Also, probably the one and only thing that is a universal concern for all human beings is their health - because ultimately, it can be a life or death situation. Governments and the WHO know this, so they take full advantage of it, leading us on. And they will continue to do so as long as we let them.
@Frogsquatch Mk II the government have to test 5g somehow so they keep us off the streets.?. Check out the photos on the effects of 5g... Covid is nothing compared to this cancer causing operation.
Always amazed at the irony of Del not cashing in on Rodney's obvious mastery of art. Clearly, that would ruin the concept of the show, but the fact that he misses what under his nose is awesome
Love David Beckham. He's a truly humorous guy. His son was streaming, and saying something about how many social media followers he had, and David popped up behind him and said "I've got five".
This is actually such a lovely little footnote for the series! Good call having Beckham as the guest star too, both charming and daft and his presence doesn't distract from the real stars of the show!
Agreed. Bar the odd gem, British comedy (especially from the BBC) has fallen WAY short. Speaks volumes that the most popular current comedy would be Mrs Browns Boys - absolutely terrible. By the way - you missed Blackadder, Dads Army, Red Dwarf and The Young Ones from the list! I’m also found of The Brittas Empire and Bottom, whilst recognising they’re not held in the same tier as the top level comedies. Similarly, think TV as a whole has fallen drastically. Bring back Saturday morning ‘magazine shows’ for kids, Grandstand in the early afternoon, and wholesome family shows in the evening (miss the days of Gladiators, Noel’s House Party, Big Break and the like) Sigh...
Britain has Only Fools and Horses and Ireland has Father Ted. I grew up watching both shows. I could watch them a million times and never not laugh or be entertained. Timeless classics. 🇮🇪
*great little addition to only fools* felt genuine to John Sullivan writing-well done to the writer, *actors slipped into characters brilliantly, didn't feel unnatural and felt like we watching Del and rodney* and for once a celebrity who actually fit in to the narrative and creation with ease and felt a genuine part of the world.. Great little skit... All making these types of shows could _learn much from this_ hugely enjoyable.
They used to be and still are big in Croatia. Generations grew up on OFAH. I remeber having all of the episodes and specials on vcr and watching them every night before going to bed. Best comedy show hands down. Also, its crazy how, after all these years, David and Nicholas got into their roles as Del and Rodney so easily, they are still Del and Rodney as if they never stopped filming. Crazy. Beckham also turned out to be a great too.
I'm Croatian but I loved watching OFAH, The thin blue line, Blackadder, Allo Allo, Vicar of Dibley, Fawlty Towers etc. Croatian TV had all of them on while I was growing up in the 90s and they were such a huge part of my childhood. OFAH was the best one though. Just hearing the theme music transports me in time, it's so weird but nice at the same time. Super nostalgic :)

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST SITCOM EVER! DEL BOY GAVE NEW MEANING TO THE WORDS HE USED SO PASSIONATELY! THE SITUATIONS THEY FOUND THEMSELVES IN WERE ALWAYS LARGER THAN LIFE AND THEIR IDEAS OF HOW TO DO BUSINESS WAS SO HYSTERICALLY FUNNY AND ENJOYABLE!
I AM SO GRATEFUL THAT GOD CREATED THIS LOVELY TEAM OF PEOPLE WHO MADE THIS SERIES SO SUCCESSFUL! Thank you Lord!
Probably one of the best shows the BBC ever made, sadly some of the actors are now leaving us, including Roger Lloyd Pack and now John Challis, along with some more. Gone but never to be forgotten 🙏🙏 RIP THEM ALL
I'm 40 and American, and I've just started watching OFAH. I'm on season (series!) 2 and loving it. This follows The League of Gentlemen, Are You Being Served?, and the Irishs' Father Ted. Incredible comedies, I thank the UK for their shows!
Your welcome
Soo many good British sitcoms…… Gavin and Stacey is good,, The office, one foot in the grave
I wasn't even born when this aired but I love this show so soo much. I watch it every few years, one of my favorite tv show!
Doesn’t that make you 5 years old?
I really love watching their show "Only Fools and Horses" it makes me laugh till I cry. Even though they've aged so much their characters are still the same and in high spirits, God bless them :)
“Come along, come along, I am not contagious” Sir David Jason just predicted the future
Watching that makes me think it wouldn’t take much to do at least another series. They’ve still got what it takes between them both in my eyes.
There too old now, an most of the other chaRACTERS are dead or old. sometimes things are best left as memories
Most chracters dies nic lydhearst lost his son retited rip Archie
Trigger R.I.P...........I can see him walking in the cafe and saying " alright dave" 😂😂😂😂
Just wish they could have used the Holographic technology they used for Tupac and had trigger say those famous words...
brought tears to my eyes seeing these guys again, i miss them
All of them were excellent but Becks was amazing, what a lovely man for playing that part so well.
Playing the part of himself? He should be able to play it well.
@@andrewreaney Shut up you tart :-)
Lyndhurst's "I'm gonna kill you" along with the death stare is as good as it ever was XD
🤣🤣🤣
They will only ever be known as del boy and Rodney lol
Rest in peace the crew of the greatest ever sitcom a real national treasure! Working class meets middle class and everyone is 1 👏🏻
Can we all just show Becks some appreciation for his acting here! He was great
100%👍
Thought he was good too, didn't expect that at all!
hottiestub me neither!
Scottish. Yup. His acting was cool.
Not as good as the other two obviously
They are FANTASTIC, even now, haven't lost it! You go guys!
I miss Only Fools and Horses. David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst were hilarious. We don't get great comedy like that anymore, which is such a miss.
If I could I would make a remake
This is brilliant and feels like it's a normal episode
When you are 27 and realise Rodney was 7 years younger than you in season 1 and now he looks the same age as your grandad
I’m 38 and wasn’t born when series 1 came out 😱
I thought Rodney was 23 in season 1
He aged a bit like poo
I’ve said many times the only negative about Only fools and horses is , They stopped and left us wanting more
Agree 110%!!!
i saw a video by someone called Chillie Jon Carne, as right as you are the shows great, the product placement they had to do is disgusting
That its overrated ?!?
@@johnsaunders2109 Clearly don’t know what great comedy is then 🤦♂️
@@joshmorris-ashton7793 I'm.far fromm alone!
Del at the beginning, to the customers - "Come along, I'm not contagious". Well, good luck trying to sell anything that way in 2020 Del.
Was thinking same thing too!!!!!!!!
@@roberthargreaves732 what do you think of 4g, 3g, and 2g?
Easily the best TV show ever made, Only Fools and Horses will never get old but only age like wine
Would have loved a 1 liner from trigger in this, great tribute
MrJcook erm ...........
ajwasp I know he has passed away, I'm just saying throughout the series a one liner from trigger would have been perfect
MrJcook I know. Shame still huh. R.I.P. Trig. "..they're going to name him 'Rodney', after Dave. "
Felt pain when they mentioned Trigger.
Alright Dave.
Dad's Army was the best. The consistent quality throughout the entire series was incredible.
Always amazed at the irony of Del not cashing in on Rodney's obvious mastery of art. Clearly, that would ruin the concept of the show, but the fact that he misses what under his nose is awesome
That homage to the classic scene with Del and Trig in the bar, just capped it. Fantastic!
The Kings!!! The best of all time!!! Even Beckham is nailing!!! Veliki pozdrav iz Srbije!!!!
And also very big condolences and respect
for big star Boycie... he was also huge and Great man and person!!!!
Such great memories of this growing up. They don’t make them like this any more that’s for sure.
Hi Marina
Hello Marina
Greatest comedy show of all time. Doesn't matter how many times you see the repeats , you still laugh.
Love David Beckham. He's a truly humorous guy. His son was streaming, and saying something about how many social media followers he had, and David popped up behind him and said "I've got five".
It would be so funny if Trigger walked past them telling Rodney: Alright ,Dave😂😂😂😂😂😂
Shame he died :(
that's some walking dead material right there
Roger Lloyd Pack had died by the time they filmed this sketch.
Boycies just gone :(
Crying with laughter, they don’t make them like this any more.😂😂😂
This is actually such a lovely little footnote for the series! Good call having Beckham as the guest star too, both charming and daft and his presence doesn't distract from the real stars of the show!
Hearing Nicholas doing the accent again is amazing. Great actor!
Hello dear
I just want to give my condolences to Nich. Lyndlhurst on the tragic loss of his so, he must be devastated I imagine!
Never in human existence will we have greats like OF&H, porridge, open all hours again
Bring back Saturday morning ‘magazine shows’ for kids, Grandstand in the early afternoon, and wholesome family shows in the evening (miss the days of Gladiators, Noel’s House Party, Big Break and the like)
Sigh...
so glad are still around, they are literally lifesavers at this troubling time, laughter saves lives!! Larry.
@@andyc6542 Of course TV has taken a hit... There were 4 channels back then... Now there are effectively infinite!
One of the BEST shows EVER !!!...Loved it ...you Plonker! LOL
Zxxd. And zc z go mnm iyg hj0
Ever time I watch only Fools and horses no matter if I’m in bad forum it always makes me laugh 😂
"Shut up you tart" that had me in stitches 🤣 😂 😒. I swear what a brilliant collab 👌 👏. #bringbackonlyfoolsandhorses
Found your comment just as it came up, brilliant 😂😂👏👏 As you said brilliant collaboration 👏👏👏😂😘🇬🇧
Britain has Only Fools and Horses and Ireland has Father Ted. I grew up watching both shows. I could watch them a million times and never not laugh or be entertained. Timeless classics. 🇮🇪
If you look away away and listen to del, his voice hasn't changed a tad since the original
RIP Trigger
Beckham actually did that fall real well. Its not easy but he kept his eye straight and thats bang on how to do it.......quality sketch....
I like how Beck's took the Mickey out of himself with the incognitive line a'la Trigger
No matter how old they get they have still have that special comedy magic in this Comic Relief special. Beckham is brilliant too sending himself up...
Makes me sad how much they've aged :'( love em soooooo much
I may be biased because i come from times when they were young but it has so much character, it warms my soul, different times for sure.
i absolutely love that they dip in to the old boys now and again, sweet nostalgia
The end of this sketch was just perfect. Comedy gold
That fall was EPIC
I'm Croatian but I loved watching OFAH, The thin blue line, Blackadder, Allo Allo, Vicar of Dibley, Fawlty Towers etc. Croatian TV had all of them on while I was growing up in the 90s and they were such a huge part of my childhood.
OFAH was the best one though. Just hearing the theme music transports me in time, it's so weird but nice at the same time. Super nostalgic :)
Odlično
I thought this episode would be a disaster, however David Beckham was just marvellous, this is a little gem, same as all the others. Lovely references to the past episodes’s antics as well. Xx

This comic relief special was brilliant! Best TV show ever!!
love this. brought a lump to the throat ....after laughing out loud - so funny. they still got it.
