May 9 2001 I walked out of Attica at 22 years old, I was there on a 2nd burglary and did 3 years . I was Buck wild dgaf about tomorrow kinda guy, Didn't plan on making it past 20 years old in life , here I am today 46 years old and had one seatbelt in 22 years, I am proof that life is how you make it if you choose to be productive you can live free
My aunt worked at Spring Creek for years, and was shocked at how much better this prison was compared to a suburban California county jail. She thought she'd be fine coming from a max security prison, only to find far worse violence, neglect, politicking, etc. at the jail.
I also believe it was Spring Creek that she said had the best prison food she'd ever had, and lots of amenities. Treat people like humans and they'll act more humane, what a crazy idea.
Kinda reminds me what I told my mom which is the best thing that has helped me stay on the striaght & narrow along with staying sober since 2017 is the fact she & my dad took the high risk of reopening their home to me and allowing me back in and showing me nothing but love, respect & care knowing damn well after all I put them through I didn't deserve it and they had all the proper rights to keep me far away from their home & my son as well but I told them striaght up just last year with them treating me like a human if that makes sense it made me feel all the better and wanting to contiune to do better along with continuing to be a better mom as well to my son who accepted me with all my faults...
My point is I told my mom though in private if more family's and people in general treated individuals like humans it would help them greatly to want and contiune to do better granted their are those handful you simply will never be able to help but for the most part you can help so many by treating them like humans...

They're not in Kodiak, there are bears but that town is not as isolated as it appears. Seward is surrounded buy a few other town and it's easier to hide the you would think.

Watching your videos, I'm trying to think of an idea for myself to start. Had surgery on my neck three days ago, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to go back to work doing what I was doing.

I feel you, I had a bad injury in 2014 lost my right shoulder and my right arm is almost useless I'm right handed too, but regardless I had a job I liked but could no longer do it

I lived in AK for 14 years. Escaping from prison is very difficult there. In the winter it's dark and cold in the summer the mosquitos and black flies.

i watch these from England and its interesting to see the differences in the prison systems.. i would love to see you do a video on our system and some of the more challenging inmates.. charlie Bronson would be a good place to start, keep up the videos, they are solid.
My boy was deported back to England and went to prison there. He said it was sweet..said there was playstations in there lol

I refused after being told I had to sign a contract that said I accepted outside charges for touching a rock spider.
I don't care how easy everything else is. Being okay with tamps running their mouth for touching children and not trying to take their life with your bare hands isn't worth the possible Barney in gen pop medium and up.
Fuck around and find out. Ten toes deep with a level head is all you need to survive the real.
My father has 6 years left on a 28 year bid and any time he calls he mentions prisons in the UK and how he’d have been done serving 15 years ago. They love throwing out football (American football) numbers with no actual rehabilitation. His current cellmate had a 99 year bid he caught at 16. He’s 63 now and can’t read or write and due to overpopulation they’re releasing him in 6 months without anywhere to go because he doesn’t have any family left.
The guy can’t read or write, has zero job experience, and hasn’t seen the world in 50 years. He told the court not to let him out because he’s so afraid of trying to survive in this modern society, and they don’t care. Guaranteed he gets out and does some petty crime just to go back. He literally has no chance. I almost feel the same for my father… except he can read and write, and he used to own a painting company that employed 12 people so he at least has a skill to fall back on, and I’ll be there to do what I can for him. It’s sad.

I did 5 months in Spring creek as a minimum/minimum inmate with no write-ups. Got my haircut by a serial killer named Robert Hansen. Thsy made a movie about him called "On Frozen Ground." I was born and raised in Anchorage Ak. Thank GOD I quit drinking and drugging 13 years ago and haven't been to prison in over a decade. You won't "Die" as you say because the city of Seward is walking distance away, and 2 people did escape about 20 years back. I was jealous of the many Bald Eagles that would fly into and out of that yard. There was a glacier up in the valley behind Spring creek, and Alaska is beautiful...In the summer.

My girl is Yupik Eskimo from Alaska. The only time I've been to Alaska was when I was fishing and crabbing out in Dutch Harbor and the Bering Sea.
Now I need to ask her if she knows anything about the Alaskan prison.
Fun fact: Alaska and Hawaii are the only states that have never had the death penalty (since becoming states). Michigan also kinda sorta has never had it. They *technically* had it, like there was some specific treason crime or something on the books that had death as punishment, but it was never used and was officially abolished in the 60's.
The streets gives them out instead
If Alaska wants to kill you they will turn your case federal like the dude in Anchorage that killed a few folks. Not sure if he ever got the death penalty carried out. Guy was slimy anyway.

Right On!!! I have actually been jelouse of a bird. I was in rehab down south California. We couldn’t leave. I was hanging out on the rocks by the ocean. A flock of seagulls landed and flew away. I remember telling my buddy Tommy “ man I am jealous of those birds. They get to come and go as they please. They are not just stuck here because of a bunch of dumb decisions.”

I've been there visiting my buddies dad when I was younger, my NA sponsor did 5 there....I've been locked up in Alaska but not spring creek, and only a few shorter stays thank God.

I was a C/o in Oklahoma and watch like every one of your videos. I applied at spring creek & got an offer letter but never went. The pay is 6 figures a year & the benefits are great but I’m not trying to work in a prison again lol

As a Floridian I love these Alaska vids. Nevermind this is the same one I've seen.
I used to work for maintenance at spring Creek. They change the mirrors out often. The facility was a model for prisons down south and all over the world (Module or Pods). Alaska says modules.
They come to Alaska to ask how the Alaskan system keeps inmates so docile. It's done with T.V. and programs. I had been doing time since 1985. I grew up in Alaska's system. I was a ward of the state at the age of 6 when I was taken to foster care. Later it's juvie.

I was quite happy to have as few people as possible know me. Did my job and my time. No serious problems. You do have SOME control over how you live within prison. You can make it harder or you can try to make it easIER; it will never be truly easy.

I spent 3 years in Spring Creek, "Butcher Baker" (Robert Hanson the guy that serial killed prostitutes) was the barber in the prison!! At that time Alaska prisons were full and they were shipping convicts to Florence AZ where I did the other 2 years of my 5 year bid (2000-20005)

Crazy I've seen this prison from Resurrection Bay. Even wilder, when we went to Alaska we stayed at one of the prison guards house. He actually said it's pretty laid back compared to the ones he works at in Texas.
I live in palmer Alaska and have been to both sides of AJ, Goose creek, and spring creek and all of the small holding places like Cordova, Valdez, Palmer, and the old old Anchorage jail on 6th ave. To be honest I saw way more crazy on the old side of AJ ( cook inlet) And the best and newest is hands down goose. Huge yard, plenty of jobs and you still get TVs and 75 per week in commissary and street clothes if you came in with them or ordered them out of the catalog that you're allowed to order from. Good times. Haven't been locked up in 6 years but not much has changed. Who else is has done time up here???

I was in the palmer medium security facility up there and you could buy ice cream and burritos from the store on Saturdays. In the winter you could open your cell window and slide that stuff through the little gap to keep it frozen so you didn't have to eat the whole pint right then

If I had to do time I wouldn't complain with that view, gorgeous mountain ranges easily viewable from the yard, its definitely better than endless fields, it almost makes you feel a little freer.
Ive literally been in a jail thats 24/7 lockdown, no sunlight, rec room,...showers in ur cell/ 6 man pod...u literally see nothing but darkness besides a lil 10" tv
