Can't imagine going back to jail and remembering how angry I was at myself, how cold and hungry and loud it was...How quick disturbances popped off and our TV got cut...The same menu every week...Stuff being stolen, not enough medical or feminine supplies...Those ratchit recycled material blankets and flat, soiled mats. Been in recovery a year and 5 months, still on low-risk probation, working a job and no associates or entanglements. It's way better than being foolish every day.

I will say as an Officer with Florida DOC, I've been threatened so many times. You just let it roll off you. Most of the time, it's just young bucks trying to flex. A whole lot of cell door warriors. I have a very simple way of approaching work. Firm, Fair and Consistent. I'm the same guy every day. The inmates of my dorm (i'm in the same dorm every day), know exactly what to expect from me. They know my peeves, and they know what I want. They also know that I give back the respect that's given to me. And I also understand that sometimes....inmates need to handle other inmates and that just makes the day run smoother.

My dad said this place is the most dangerous prison facilities he passed through at the time he was transferred to Buena Vista prison to finish the rest of his time which is labeled Gladiator School. Said if you don’t know how to fight when you go in you damn sure know how to by the time you got out. He was 23 at the time. CSP was definitely the most eerie prison I ever went to. I didn’t ever have to stay there but we picked someone up, they have to take an elevator to get to the garage. And there isn’t any yard just tall ass buildings and the razor wire a couple feet from the walls. It’s out at the “canyon city complex” where there is like 8 prisons down 1 road. A bunch of minimums csp and then a high medium at the end of the road.

Yes actually you absolutely can and many people do start out at the maximum security level and it isn’t until you are able to have clear conduct that your security level goes down to medium and/or eventually minimum.
The initial intake process and going through what they call “classification” is how they determine your security level to begin with many factors including your age, your crime, and previous record all play apart in determining which security level prison you start at.

The Warden can twist it anyway she wants but solitary confinement is inhumane and it should be considered cruel and unusual punishment, I've personally witnessed the devastating consequences of Seg.

Nah bro I gotta digress. I work here as a CO I at CSP and we get paid VERY GOOD!!!! There are people here who make 10k a month because of overtime, shift and weekend differentials. This career has changed my life for the better and if you think I'm capping I'll personally dm you me in uniform and with my Prison ID in hand.
