That far cry 3 mission isn’t just about burning weed to dope music.. it was when Jason really started losing his mind and enjoy killing. A big shift in the vibe of the story. That might’ve been my favorite moment in gaming I’ve experienced so far. That game has my heart forever.
The hole story gets really meta if you think about it. Jason is you . You stray away from the mine story because killing is to fun, you didnt join your friends to escape because you had still shit to unlock.
i spent hours upon hours in fc instincts and predators map makers, i even had a few really popular maps! far cry 2 maps were also absolutely amazing but i never had the time to make maps again. i miss those days, they are some of my favorite memories. one of the best things was realizing voice chat made the characters mouths move
In far cry 3 you also face Hoyts Privateers, a much stronger enemy than the Pirates. Same thing in far cry 4, when you get to the north, you face the Royal Guard, which is much more tougher than the Royal Army.
I really enjoyed how the game becomes more challenging by introducing new faction of enemies that are way better than the ones you start with. First time playing Farcry 3 I was really surprised when I encountered the Privateers during one of the last mission on the first island, and I was even more surprised when I found out that there was another island occupied with these mercenaries. No more drunk pirates with their rusty AK's, I would have to fight against military trained guys with state of the art weapons and armors. This transition was so well made that it has stayed in my mind all these years, definitely one of the best ways to improve difficulty, not only that... It was amazing story wise, you really knew that things were getting real when you first saw the Hoyt's Privateers. Farcry 4 made it interesting as well, when entering the Northern Kyrat and having to fight your way through the Royal Guard, man... that was really nice! When it comes to villains, yes... Vaas from Farcry 3 is far more iconic than Hoyt Volker, but I liked both of them equally. Hoyt was the true villain of Farcry 3, no matter how great Vaas was, Hoyt had the power on the island.
These type of retrospective videos always make me want to go on a gaming marathon with the franchise the video is focused on. If only my backlog wasn't so big...

Lets put that to rest, shall we: - At that point of the game, no villains are left. Three villains had to be beaten before getting into the end and one of those villains did have a DECOMISSIONED missile silo. - During the battle with that mini-boss, you get to jump around that EMPTY silo bay and there is no nuke there. - After beating that villain, the silo was in the hands of the Cougars (non-cultists) meaning there would be no-one to lauch it. - Joseph makes no mention about it at any point of the game, even immediately after the apocalypse or during the New Dawn. - IF there was a functioning nuke missing, one would think agent Willis would think that the cult is little bit more dangerous, instead of just yawning and leaving. - The whole point of the ending was "what if one absolutely unhinged nutcase is actually right about coming apocalypse?" - Also if one actually listens the radio during the game (i know, no-one does because they just run through games) but there are constant updates on continually worsening global political tensions between superpowers. So, player got the foreshadowing constantly during the game if they bothered to listen. During the New Dawn, it is clearly shown that the nuclear apocalypse was global, including a map of hit sites around the US and no mentions of outside world that would have survived the fallout. You also gets to visit that flooded silo in New Dawn meaning it did not explode or there would be a crater in it's position.

man, i cant count the amount of time i spent hunting 50 of the relics in farcry 3 to unlock the 50 cal sniper with explosive ammo, and man is it worth it!
farcry 5 was good, but it lacked the character of fc3 and fc4. Those 2 games are the best farcry titles till date. Been playing the game ever since farcry 2.
In Far Cry 5, it wasn't Joseph Seed who launched the nuke. Throughout the game if you acturally pay attention to the outside news reports coming from radios and articles, they talk about political unrest going on and the world being on the brink of nuclear war. So the ending was kind of a twist because Joseph and his cult were, in a way, right about the world coming to an end.
I feel like I live in an alternate universe. I don't ever remember Far Cry being a big franchise, none of my friends played it, I've never been aware of hype for the release of one. I was born in 89 so I feel like I'd be right in the pocket for these games.

Everybody thought Joseph was just a crazy cult leader but it turned out that he was right all along. New Dawn takes place after the collapse when people are trying to rebuild. I absolutely love Far Cry 5. Hope County is such a beautiful place to explore. I also think New Dawn is underrated and definitely worth a play through. I can't wait for Far Cry 6 to drop.
I hate how people simply ignore Far Cry 2 level design and realism. Brown filter was commonality at the time. GTA IV’s Manhattan looks like Dubai of Spec Ops: The Line. Far Cry 2 is so different to the entire series. Far Cry 3 and onwards feels like a playground. You are never under the pump. The vulnerability is not there. You can take out fortresses and outposts with a simple silenced sniper rifle. Far Cry 2 on the other hand is the most brutal and harsh of them all. You can’t rely on your weapons because they degrade and to some people it’s a bad thing but if you think about it. You cannot tag enemies and track them through walls. Malaria can break you down in the middle of a fight. It wants you to survive the world of Far Cry 2 and not play in it. The franchise name Far Cry screams of survival, where you are hunted. No one captures the feeling of that better than 2. I will not go into attention to details because we can be here for eternity. With that being said, some people enjoy the playful combat of Far Cry 3, 4, and on. I enjoy the mean and despairing gameplay of Far Cry 2 more than the others. So play what you like but Far Cry 2 deserves more respect than it gets. If you wanna know how much better Far Cry 2 is. Go and watch Cowbcat video on Far Cry 2 VS. Far Cry 5.

The companion system, the unpredictability of picked-up-firearms, multiple ways to tackle a scenario, faction wars and gunfire-free zones, the in-game map that never took you out of the gameplay loop, and The Jackal, were absolutely phenomenal!
@@Nynja123TRT Yeah that is what I am trying to say but I didn't want to make it long. In Far Cry 3 when you are traversing the map you open the menu. Even in crafting you have to open the menu which took me out of the game so much. Fast travel really puts me off. Everything you do in FC2 is inside the game. It tries its best not to take you out of the experience. The only time you break the flow is when you go to the menu either buying a weapon or picking a bus ride aside from a few mission cuts. The attention to the details in that game is something Ubisoft never replicated again. The game obviously has its flaws but the time in which it was released with all mechanics included was groundbreaking.
I remember looking at the back of the Far Cry 1 cover at the screenshots and putting it back down laughing. I knew there was a 0% chance my computer could run those jaw dropping visuals

The reliance on travel was both a blessing and a curse, because it forced the player to explore and tackle objectives strategically just to get there and back in one piece, but made a single objective easily 30 minutes just to complete. If I could change one thing it would be the respawning system. The effort of wiping out a hostile checkpoint should make it easier to traverse the area again for at least a day/night cycle. Not respawn to full strength after 50-100 yards.
I just fell in love with this idea, what if there was a game set in a Haitian revelution type scenario? The player character could be a recently transported slave that was both a revolutionary and a warrior... you could have incredibly sharp farming equipment like single handed sickles for cutting stalks! you could have improvised weapons like in fc5, the aesthetic of all of the games, the melee and projectile combat of primal, the liberation of slaves could be like fc3, and you could get higher quality weapons from killing soldiers and ranchers...GAH I NEED THIS GAME.
Joseph Seed didn't detonate anything. Nuclear war happened. You can hear sometimes on the radio in game how they talk about North Korea and its nuclear weapons
Far cry 3 introduced me to the series. I used to be scared because I was in like 4th-5th grade when I bought the game but I ended up finishing it on my ps3. Now I’m just looking for the classic edition on my PS4 but I can’t seem to find a physical copy of the game (I like collecting games)

I will never undestand why people didn´t like Primal, its so cool having to really be more stealthy than usual. Changing the subject, I don´t know why, but I am feeling the 6th one, very like... weird? I feel the enemies on the island don´t even know who the protagonist is when they walk by, even though Castillo is always saying on the speakers that Dany is wanted and blah , lah, but they don´t even react to you. Also the missions feel unimportant, like in a RPG game, that you don´t really have an impact on the map, it justa ctivates missions, but it does not change at all. But Ipm enjoying the game as hell
Far Cry is one of those series that i feel has been overlooked, it's sold millions of copies but gets written off when talking about how impactful the games were especially the earlier titles. YES Far Cry 3 was phenomenal, Far Cry 4 raised the bar, Far Cry 5 was controversial but such a good game and Far Cry 6 is probably the most underrated of them all! after beating Far Cry5 for a second time (i also purchased Far Cry 6) i decided to give New Dawn a try. New Dawn was a fun little DLC like story and for $13 it's worth it. it takes place 17 years after the good ending of Far Cry 5 & it's non stop Far Cry fun the whole way through. My main issue is with Far Cry 6, when it was released critics complained it was too similar to other Far Cry games (the same critics who give every new COD game a score of 9/10 even though they haven't changed in YEARS). Far Cry 6 for me personally is right up there with the best in the series. The story is top notch, especially the villans. the core game play is extremely fun although i am sad they did away with the perk system. The game itself is absolutely gorgeous running on Xbox Series X|S consoles, there's really no game breaking thing that makes Far Cry 6 a bad game. it's absolutely phenomenal, the DLC is some of the best i've ever played and the free stranger things crossover was actually a lot of fun and kinda spooky when i was playing through it in the dark alone lol. i really can't stress enough how good Far Cry 6 is, i really hope more people give it a chance because it's really fun. hsppy gsming!

The Far Cry series has been so much fun over the years, each game has its own unique feel, each game has a incredible sense of exploration, a certain vibe that isn’t present in other games, i spend hours exploring the maps in Far Cry games, always something new and exciting around the corner, Far Cry 6’s Yara is a highlight, it’s gigantic, I would recommend Far Cry Primal, an absolute underrated gem 👏👏👏

idk why ppl think the malaria shit was a problem lmao. i get it’s annoying as hell but anytime i saw the malaria pill mission icon appear on my map id complete my mission then go drive over and do the mission to get more pills. in my 1st play through i don’t think i ever ran out of pills. also same shit with the weapon degradation anytime ur near a gun shop swap ur guns out that way u only have to worry about ur guns jamming. also i don’t think any of these things take away from the game rather immerse urself more into it

@@peacekeeper3227 It’s a brutal game for sure but not impossible. I would say the best way to play the game is on PC with Dylan’s mod or the redux. I think FC1 and instincts series are more deserving to be remade mostly because they were linear games, not open world.
The first far cry was the best for me. Changing into a monster with superpowers to mess up the enemy. they should go back to the original formula. Far Cry games are creating nothing new, but that first game with the mutated enemies and a mutated game character was excellent. They should remaster it.

I really enjoyed Far Cry games from 2-5 skipping primal and New dawn. I'm gonna wait for a few reviews and see how it turns out, because $80 is too much for a single player game unless it worth the time of day.

I just fell in love with this idea, what if there was a game set in a Haitian revelution type scenario? The player character could be a recently transported slave that was both a revolutionary and a warrior... you could have incredibly sharp farming equipment like single handed sickles for cutting stalks! you could have improvised weapons like in fc5, the aesthetic of all of the games, the melee and projectile combat of primal, the liberation of slaves could be like fc3, and you could get higher quality weapons from killing soldiers and ranchers...GAH I NEED THIS GAME.

Far cry 3 introduced me to the series. I used to be scared because I was in like 4th-5th grade when I bought the game but I ended up finishing it on my ps3. Now I’m just looking for the classic edition on my PS4 but I can’t seem to find a physical copy of the game (I like collecting games)

@@andreix3771 exactly and it wasn't open world , but the new open world aspects are good too . Also the invisible mutated enemies , oh man so much nostalgia. I think we needed something like night vision sort of glasses to actually spot them, great horror aspect wasn't it ?

I will never undestand why people didn´t like Primal, its so cool having to really be more stealthy than usual.
Changing the subject, I don´t know why, but I am feeling the 6th one, very like... weird? I feel the enemies on the island don´t even know who the protagonist is when they walk by, even though Castillo is always saying on the speakers that Dany is wanted and blah , lah, but they don´t even react to you. Also the missions feel unimportant, like in a RPG game, that you don´t really have an impact on the map, it justa ctivates missions, but it does not change at all. But Ipm enjoying the game as hell
I love this franchise. If I put them in order it would be: FC3, FC5, FC4, FC2, FCND, FC1, and last FCP. I'm definitely going for FC6.

Retrospectives are the best. I've done so many videos looking back but didnt know the act had a name, lol.
'Nick930' makes some great game retrospective videos. 'Oliver Harper' does the same for movies.
Both are top notch channels.
Far Cry is one of those series that i feel has been overlooked, it's sold millions of copies but gets written off when talking about how impactful the games were especially the earlier titles. YES Far Cry 3 was phenomenal, Far Cry 4 raised the bar, Far Cry 5 was controversial but such a good game and Far Cry 6 is probably the most underrated of them all! after beating Far Cry5 for a second time (i also purchased Far Cry 6) i decided to give New Dawn a try. New Dawn was a fun little DLC like story and for $13 it's worth it. it takes place 17 years after the good ending of Far Cry 5 & it's non stop Far Cry fun the whole way through.
My main issue is with Far Cry 6, when it was released critics complained it was too similar to other Far Cry games (the same critics who give every new COD game a score of 9/10 even though they haven't changed in YEARS). Far Cry 6 for me personally is right up there with the best in the series. The story is top notch, especially the villans. the core game play is extremely fun although i am sad they did away with the perk system. The game itself is absolutely gorgeous running on Xbox Series X|S consoles, there's really no game breaking thing that makes Far Cry 6 a bad game. it's absolutely phenomenal, the DLC is some of the best i've ever played and the free stranger things crossover was actually a lot of fun and kinda spooky when i was playing through it in the dark alone lol. i really can't stress enough how good Far Cry 6 is, i really hope more people give it a chance because it's really fun. hsppy gsming!

The Far Cry series has been so much fun over the years, each game has its own unique feel, each game has a incredible sense of exploration, a certain vibe that isn’t present in other games, i spend hours exploring the maps in Far Cry games, always something new and exciting around the corner, Far Cry 6’s Yara is a highlight, it’s gigantic, I would recommend Far Cry Primal, an absolute underrated gem 👏👏👏
Far Cry 2 was my favorite. Very simple and fun like the first, but the first one's graphics are a little too rough imo.

idk why ppl think the malaria shit was a problem lmao. i get it’s annoying as hell but anytime i saw the malaria pill mission icon appear on my map id complete my mission then go drive over and do the mission to get more pills. in my 1st play through i don’t think i ever ran out of pills.
also same shit with the weapon degradation anytime ur near a gun shop swap ur guns out that way u only have to worry about ur guns jamming.
also i don’t think any of these things take away from the game rather immerse urself more into it
My favourite thing about Far Cry as a series is that after the more realistic FC2, they've focused on just fun.

@@peacekeeper3227 It’s a brutal game for sure but not impossible. I would say the best way to play the game is on PC with Dylan’s mod or the redux. I think FC1 and instincts series are more deserving to be remade mostly because they were linear games, not open world.

The first far cry was the best for me. Changing into a monster with superpowers to mess up the enemy. they should go back to the original formula. Far Cry games are creating nothing new, but that first game with the mutated enemies and a mutated game character was excellent. They should remaster it.

I really enjoyed Far Cry games from 2-5 skipping primal and New dawn. I'm gonna wait for a few reviews and see how it turns out, because $80 is too much for a single player game unless it worth the time of day.
New Dawn is actually pretty fun, the melees far improved from FC5, but ultimately a small game, so only on sale imo.
