I always hear people saying: "Why did he or she stay so long?" - it's not an easy question for certain people. Let's remember that in order to have a successful abuser, you need to find a good victim that is unwilling to leave. As we can all see in this case, not only she has mental issues but also our Johnny grew up untreated from the childhood and adolescence mental and psychological wounds of a dysfunctional family. Johnny escaped, like many do, from the pain and shame through legal/illegal drugs and alcohol. Sweeping our inner struggles under the rug it's simply an illusion. The 'out of sight, out of mind' kind of thinking is not healthy. Many of us had dysfunctional families growing up. It's definitely not our fault, however once you have the means of getting help, you must address these issues! It's very important for our own health and it helps us to make good choices in life. I have no doubt that Johnny fell in love with Amber's outer beauty and missed the signs of an abuser. Great lesson for all of us. Unfortunately, for many of us is already too late as we recognize this type of behavior in our own skin. Sad but true.

There are nearly thirty exceptions to the hearsay rule under the federal rules of evidence; state rules can vary somewhat. I'm not going to watch the full cross-exam to try to figure out what you are referring to but suffice it to say the hearsay rule is not what non-lawyers believe it is. It's complicated.

To be completely honest with you, I think it is hearsay. Sometimes the attorney can get away with it if it’s not caught by the other team: if they don’t object for “hearsay”, she can continue. I think you caught something the legal team missed or just didn’t think was important

In this case, since she is being used as an examiner for the case she had access to the other doctors’ notes to thoroughly review accounts. Since she was brought upon the case to examine other experts’ information to form an opinion, she is able to use those details to form a professional opinion as she is unbiased within the case. Since this is civil court, the burden of proof is on the plaintiff though- so my understanding is that to bring suit she is meant to provide context for the situation it doesn’t mean she is rooting for any side, even if she was hired by counsel on one side or another. Ultimately this allows everyone to better understand what would have led Amber to make accusations + slander Johnny.
The best thing for Amber’s team would have been to play into her having symptoms of the fore mentioned disorders, coming to terms with her abusing Johnny and using that to settle.
But since she is going all out to prove she was telling the truth she is just making herself look bad.

And especially in case of an actor, when she is filming, her bruises would be covered by make up artist, when auditioning, most people doent see her regularly. So if she didnt happen to be filming, her only regular contact professionaly would be her agent.

She's limiting the questions into a yes or no answer creating nuances with the dr's answers. Dr curry's done well with adding snippets of information to counter that.
