I was dozing in my hotel room in Phuket in 2017, listening to this album for the first time. The first few tracks were washing over me and putting me into a deep meditative rest. Then this track started and blew me out of my slumber into the most jubilous, refreshing awakening. Still gives me that feeling to this day.
I really like your statement Grahamm5790. I absolutely love "Pain". It tugs at something deep inside but this song let's me be free. I feel better after I've heard this song. Would you agree that there is some elevated Tom Petty stuff here?
Dexter Smith yeah I do hear tom petty but also Bryan Adams and dire straits. The whole album is fantastic but I still think their last album is better. Under the pressure is one of the best songs I've ever heard but is better live.
This band is changing my whole perception of everything I ever knew....and I am a 51 year old audiophile with over 20,000 tracks in my library covering my lifetime and much more...Many thanks to BBC 6Music for opening my ears to TWOD a couple of years ago, can't wait to see them later this year
Same here my friend. 42 years old, collector of vinyl records, pretty much thought everything great had already been written until i heard "Lost in the dream" and now "A deeper understanding." What a band, my faith in new music has been restored.
Another incredible "oh shit, this is going to a new level and I did not expect it" War on Drugs moment at 3:00. Reminiscent of Under the Pressure at 4:05.
Love this band. They’ve only been on the scene for a few a little while and have so many great hits songs. You rarely see any consistency from any up and comer these days. Ussually 1 “maybe” 2 hits and that’s all she wrote. These guys keep pumping them out….one of the few bands I would actually go see.

I grew up in the back of my dads car while Tom Petty was playing. I hope this does the same thing to my kids ears / lives.
