The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Combines Si-Like Power With Crazy Efficient Fuel Economy

- After a 10 year hiatus, the #HondaCivicHybrid is finally back in America and the new #CivicHybrid picks up where the old #InsightHybrid left off in 2022. #Honda has given the latest #Civic the new 2-Motor #Hybrid powertrain from the Accord and CR-V and with 200 HP and 50 MPG, it is both the most powerful production non-Type R Civic and most fuel efficient. The new model is heading to dealers in June.

How does the Civic look much better than the Accord lmao.
I swear the last gen accord looked so much better
Corolla looks better than Camry!
@christianwilliams6535 The last generation Accord looked incredibly overstyled. At least the new Accord looks like a clean family car, as God intended.
Idk what they were thinking...the 90s accord had more style. The current one has the sex appeal of a stick of butter
I think they wanted accord to look like luxury coupe sedan and they simplified too many of the lines in that endeavor. Side profile is fine. The front needs some more angles.
The Hrv desperately needs this powertrain as it's slow as hell.
Agree!
Yup....and Toyota has a chr with their Prius prime power train that isn't coming to America
its crazy because its a very decent car too, needs more power
@@kevinbatista1278 Cost cutting is the answer
And of course Honda deleted. The fog lights on. All civics
*200hp, 232tq, 50mpg, good looks, manageable size, liveable and normal car..., I think I've found the first car I want to pay MSRP (without mark-ups) for. **#Honda**, well done.* 👏👏👏
Honda dealers are known for being crooked and asking well over msrp. Only way I would buy one is with discount, otherwise fuk em
You know dealers will charge 30-35k for it though. Lets be honest, the prius is the only competition in that class. They might as well consider it midsize these days. Thing is huge for a compact
200 hp is more like 150 to the wheels 🤣🤡
@@i.d.6492 😐 *Yeah. Numbers at the crank versus at the wheels aka drivetrain loss... I don't understand why that's funny.*
@@hypershadow87 because it's slow af that's why and I'll never pay msrp for cheap slow crap
I don't see any reason to buy a Corolla now. Civic has knocked it out the park!! A powerful, fast, and extremely fuel efficient car! Wow! Plus the Civic handles better, is more fun to drive, has more passenger space, and more cargo space than the Corolla!! Civic Wins!! Thank you Sofyan for a great review!
There’s never been any reason to get a corolla unless you clearly don’t know anything about anything
Agreed. Corolla interior is meh and low hp
I think the Civic has been a league above Corolla for a while. The fact Sofyan compares this to the Prius instead of Corolla Hybrid is pretty telling. The Corolla is for people who dc about cars or just want/can afford an A to B vehicle.
@@Michael-ur5qb the civics also an A to B car
In fact nearly just about any car out there is an A to B car
@@ric44n and cramped and overpriced and really horrible to drive
The civic is such a great car. It’s refreshing when a manufacturer has such high standards for itself
Are they gay? 😂
Fantastic car. Honda and Toyota are killing it with hybrids lately.
The new Camry is about as quick as the GTI/GLI with their hybrid drivetrain. Crazy value imo.
Camry has all wheel drive available tho and rear air vents I know it’s consider a bigger car but that wins for me
@@cf7792 Not everyone wants to drive around a boat. The Camry is also extremely ugly as all Toyota's are. They have absolutely no sense of design style at all and really never have.
@@ducktails1695get your eyes checked if u think Hondas look better than Toyotas😂😂😂

Acura should seriously consider this powertrain for the base automatic Integra. It might not be any more exciting than the 1.5T CVT, but at least it's quicker.
I agree with you, Acura needs some hybrid options even though they claimed they don’t do hybrids anymore.
Acura NEEDS a GSR trim with the 2.0T from the Accord. Options for a manual trans or the 10 speed with that drivetrain would turn it into a serious option.
Has the same HP how do you know it is quicker? Also an intake and downpipe will add a little more pep to the 1.5t no need to ever worry about replacing an expensive battery. 2.0 hybrid should stay in Honda accords and crv.
They will
@@juannevindez6969 test numbers from the UK Civic Hybrid have it quicker to 60 than the 1.5T CVT.
It is insane that Honda refuses to put rear air vents in multiple models. Other markets get them. The cost cutting needs to stop.
It's infuriating the lengths companies go to shave a few pennies off the cars sold. The parts exist and their inclusion do not complicate assembly.
The "justification" is that competitors in the segment in the US market don't have them, so Honda doesn't need to include them either.
I have an Integra TypeS. It's mildly infuriating on the "little" things that are missing in the most expensive model that are included in the top end ASpec (rear USB ports, memory seats, just to name a few).
That and the lack of lumbar support in the seats proves Honda doesn't give a damn about their buyer's comfort. No excuse.
@genericasian
Exactly and in the case of the 11th gen Civic Si, losing the heated seats, foglights, and adaptive dampers among other things that made the 10th gen Si such a value. For even more $$$$ I might add.
@@wbwayne8887 hilariously, all of those things are on the Civic Si sold in Canada. I'm pretty sure they're built in the same plant as the US-spec Si, so it's not like the factory doesn't have the parts... It almost feels like for the US market, Honda was trying to make room for the ASpec Integra, which also has all of those features.
@@wbwayne8887 if you haven't seen it, check out Throttle House's video on the 11th gen Si. They comment on all of the parts they get up in Canada that aren't on the US-spec car.
Prius has AWD, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, memory settings, heated windshield wiper park area, bigger infotainment screen , 360 camera..
True, but I believe it costs a bit more too. I think both are solid options.
It’s also way more expensive and harder to get one! Not to mention way less interior and cargo space!
And how much is that cause last time I checked Toyota selling them above 40 k lol
One reason to not go for the prius... that ugly horrific 1990s stearing wheel. I just cant.
@@MrUser999999And the awkwardly placed gauge cluster as well. Plus the tighter rear seats.
About time they bring back the Hybrid. These should sell very well
HONDA!! PUT THE 12.3 infotainment in your cars, not just the Accord smh

You will leave. Relax.
The dash is pretty small/tight. 12.3 would be ridiculous.

I don't see the point of that unless you have really bad eyesight
As a manual transmission enthusiast, I find it disappointing that Honda is removing the manual transmission from the Civic.
VW just did the same thing with the 2025 GTI. We might be seeing the end of manual transmissions.
Congrats on the 1m subs!
Our 2018 Touring is about to be traded in for the 25 Sport Touring! Thanks for this awesome video!
I love the six spoke design on those seven spoke wheels
The hump in the back seat foot area is for the exhaust. That's why all civics have it.
Definitely would take this over a corolla hybrid, very good looking sedan, corollas styling is a bit too edgy boy racer for me lol
Finally they fixed the front looks
Love the Lagoon Blue !!😍
Only wish Acura do the same thing for the damn integra
No need. 1.5t is fine and lots of mods in the tuning community. Just get a civic or an accord.
@@juannevindez6969it barely being modded. Most are cvt fwd $299 lease cars for older people.
Something tells me that if there is a next generation Integra, it will probably get this powertrain. Honda seems to keep Acura's offerings one step behind for some reason.
@@juannevindez6969i have been considering a civic sport touring or an integra a spec with texh package. The integra doesnt need more power but 50mpg in a usable luxury hatch is non existant. Should gain them market share
Love the review, AND also love the lewk, Sofyan! 😍🤩🥰
That angular bumper, very nice.
Back seats really need chargers and vents. Come on Honda. 9in infotainment is weak.
MK8 GTI has rear vents and 2 USB C ports standard
I have a ‘23 sport touring. The screen feels just right for the size of the car
First like, I was watching your Mustang Ecoboost video when I saw this 😆
I’m so ready for the hybrid. I’ve been holding trading in until I can get one!
Really digging that blue on the hatchback.
The hatch is gorgeous
I just bought a 2024 Civic Touring sedan on Saturday. I knew the hybrid was coming, but I don't drive enough to make the price premium worth it. I'm surprised to see they removed the rear USB charge ports from the Touring trim in the hybrid. Thankfully there's nothing in this refresh that makes me second-guess my decision. Now, maybe in a few years we'll get an HR-V hybrid like the ZR-V in Europe...
I got a 2024 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback a few weeks ago as well. I'm glad mine has the rear ports too. I'll be waiting for the next gen Honda Accord to come after this current gen
That intro boom shot though
Got one of these in the UK. Absolutely fantastic machine!
This gen civic is going to age like fine wine. I'm curious to see if Type R/Si will have a hybrid powertrain as well.
I think this will age better then the Prius looks wise
Thought my eyes tricking me, but the picture actually changes warmth
Sofyan those are definitely seven spoke wheels not six lol.
But anywho this is basically the PERFECT car in hatchback form. Great little brother to my truck. Gettin this in urban gray for SURE.
Or maybe that sand color will look good. Either way I can’t wait!
Plug-in Hybrids is where I think more auto manufacturers should go versus full on EV. Customers are still a little uneasy about going all EV so giving them this hybrid is a good compromise until our infrastructure gets better for EV's and people start to accept them more. Manufacturers can still do full on EV's as they still need to develop the tech and make it better over time but I just think hybrids are a good compromise in the mean time.
You can basically make any vehicle a hybrid, whether it's a Dodge Charger with a V8 hybrid, a Toyota Tacoma, or a Honda Civic so its a very versatile technology that can be adapted to any vehicle for any purpose.
I heard from Toyota the reason is, to make 1 EV car = about 90 hybrid cars, so EV's aren't really saving the planet, to produce them leaves a large carbon footprint
Plug in hybrids are the way to go
@@shaananwalsh7513 Totally agree! It's a perfect compromise.
Not so, I have model 3 and love it, no range anxiety at all, plus great charging infrastructure. No gas for me, I love no maintenance cars.
@@tonyn3227 Not everyone is as lucky as you are. Charging infrastructure depends on your location. Not everyone has the same nice setup.
Hybrid hatch seems like a good Prius alternative! Prius is still hard to get in many places, but I'm assuming civic will be easier to find on lots being a more mainstream vehicle.
Especially with availability and pricing! Toyota can’t or won’t supply adequate Prius inventory , most dealers are charging well over msrp for the Prius! In my market they are all over $35k!!
the prius is a very mainstream vehicle

Bravo Honda amazing package
I still prefer Toyota's new hybrid system for the Prius/Camry over Honda's because by design Honda's hybrid system struggles with power and fuel efficiency at high speeds
No exhaust tips
No fog lights
But it does have chrome delete
id rather have chrome
That center hump on the interior is the exhaust tunnel most manufacturers have that design to kinda tuck the exhaust for ground clearance
Is it me or the grill looks similar to the tlx grill and the front bumper looks like the bmw 3series front bumper, that’s a win cuz both those sedan look amazing
Curious to see what happens with the civic si for 2025.
We’re hoping it gets a big power boost. An Si cannot have the same HP as the hybrid!
Honda: Come check out our Civic hybrid but we’re not giving any actual details about the drive train.

Its the same hybrid as the accord, and similar to the previous insight.
They dont like us criticizing how its not the geatest bestest
It's nice to see they brought the Insight back lol.
It looks great.
new civic Si owners are in tears right now lol
I mean... no limited slip, no manual transmission. Nobody bought an Si for speed. It literally had no power to begin with.
Nice! But the Prius offers AWD, cooled seats, heated steering wheel, memory settings, heated windshield wiper park area, bigger infotainment screen etc. Living in Michigan I'd buy a Prius instead.
True but they have lesser room. Also I heard Toyota is selling them for 40k. Plus typical Toyota dealer markup, car is going to cost 60k.
Looks great, I like that sedan.
That hatch hybrid is a dream for me.
It's crazy how behind and underpowered Civic Si is. It should have 250 HP and 250 lb/ft by now.
Have you driven one? I have the '24 Si. It gets 40 mpg on the highway and can take off quickly enough. It is not a WRX, but it's fun for value you get.
The hybrid may have a bigger engine and torque, but the Si will weigh A LOT less. I don't even have a rear tire...
@@user-os6mt2lf3p for a 1.5 Turbo they might squeeze a little bit more HP, the torque is larger, but still has basically the same horsepower as my 9th gen Si which still had a K series. There's no excuse to not have vents and charging ports in the backseat. Plenty of cars that are in the same price range (and cheaper) have both, and have had them for years and years. My 2015 base model Golf has rear vents.
2023 VW GTI SE has standard rear vents as well as 2 USB C ports

I have a 24 Sport Touring Hatch and Honda has really done a great job with the Civic for this generation. I love that they are bringing back the hybrid. I can get about 40 mpg in mine if I don’t drive like an idiot 😂. Hopefully they can tone down the road noise and add some rear air vents for top trims in the future, but other than that, great job Honda. I hope you can get invited to overseas tour drives / reviews (e.g. Europe, Japan, etc.)
Would love to see the refresh for the Accord with a similar look over the current design.
This car looks amazing. For everyone complaining the hybrid does not have a manual option, this car has no gears, so there would be nothing to shift
Honestly, if I hadn't just bought a Sonata Hybrid 2 weeks ago, this would've been my choice. The hatchback model seems so much more compelling than the Elantra and Corolla hybrids thanks to that performance and practicality mix. I'm just surprised that it's launching much sooner than I thought it would.

I really wish Honda made the Nav system into the Dash because it's really High on the dash itself. I do like the MPG and glad they went with a hybrid instead of all electric. Also I'd like to see the automatic hand shifter as buttons but i heard that if you spill something on them, you're out of luck. So i've heard.Honda could've gone with the odyssey button on the mid dash for their vehicles then they could've had space for extra storage or maybe room for a little cooler to put your drinks in, possibly an upgrade, just a thought. Jackpot. This car is "peak ICE".
I hope they added features to the Sport (non hybrid) trim. Since the hybrid isn’t starting until just under $30k that’s a large price range for one trim level to cover in the hatchback. At least the sedan has the Lx,
Looks good. It still blows me away that all trims of the Accord and the top trim of the civic get the all digital dash while the $40k CR-V sport touring still has the half digital half analog dash.
Doesn't make a lot of sense; don't see that changing before MY26.
Really like this, but a big shame they removed the spare tire. Is the battery intruding into the space in the hatchback? Or can you remove that plastic panel to fit a spare?
The Sedan seems the foam can be easily removed and replaced with a spare.
When can you review the all new traverse
I think the Civic sedan is absolutely one of the best looking cars on the market - my only negatives are the lack of rear seat air vents (I live in a hot climate) and charging ports. Thankfully that screen on the dash isn’t any larger than it is, otherwise that would be another negative.
