Nice technique for creating a dazzling nocturnal cityscape. Establishing the architectural foundations and landscape forms of towering skyscrapers . A vast array of colored city lights appear illuminous within the darkness, over an expansive urban city skyline, and within the reflections of the water. Nicely rendered piece, from landscapes, seascapes to cityscapes.

I've been struggling to make that hazy look around the lights but now I finally know that I needed to simply gently brush them. My worry though is that if I brush up with bright colour then down, it would be ruined because it'll mix with the dark colour in the background... but I guess practice is what I just need. Super inspiring! Thank you so much!

I am not great at it but I enjoy it. recently I have been watching a lot of your videos and they are great. I have always wanted to do a city scene and you have inspired me to take out the brushes and just go for it.

Kevin hill you need to go back over the reflection lights at the base of the buildings and turn it into pavement, just where they extend into the water. I would love to paint like you you are the greatest

Kevin... I've done a couple of your tutorial paintings and bought some of your brushes. The problem I'm finding is how to really clean the brushes to keep them in great shape. A video on how you clean your brushes would be wonderful. :)
Kevin, do you have this as a full length step by step DVD? I would love to be able to give this a more detailed look as you have and also would love a sketch of the buildings. Please consider doing this as I would love to have this. I tried this on my own and had to trash it. I would say I'm a pretty good artist but no where close to you. Linda S I know this may be 2 years too late, but use a mild odorless paint thinner, paper towels, and slap the brushes dry
