I noticed that you brush oil on the canvas before starting. Is it correct?

Normally I paint with acrylic. I have experienced maybe two canvas in oil. Acrylic you deep your brushes in water and oil in same liquid. I do not know if the one you used is the same I have. Could you please let me know? Many thanks

I dip my brushes in turpentine to thin my paints..i dont like using different additives and mediums for oil painting...
