Could be that it's not a full length video. We expect everything for free nowadays but he has to make money too! I bought one of his mp4 video tutorials for like $20CAD. It's worth it. If that's not the reason for dislikes then people need their eyes checked. This painting is F***ing gorgeous!!!!!!
This is, by far, your BEST video. You were clear in what brushes were being used, colors and explained everything in detail. It would be nice to see more like this.
So loyal to the foundations of Bob's work, yet the personal flair and individuality is still very much in tact, creating in my opinion, a modernised new angle on this type of magical landscape. It's fantastic to see someone embrace this wonderful method with such integrity, and to excel at it to such a high degree. You, Mr KevinOilPainting sir, are an amazingly talented artist, and bring something very special and unique to this classic (w' on w'), method. Big gold star for you.
lol, this is my all-time favorite painting. I took hours to paint anything. so in my college painting competition which gave us 90 mins, I was dumbfounded.then I watched this video and made a painting inspired by it with tube watercolors in 50 mins n I defeated a 5-time champion. it is to date my best work in such a short time with watercolors. I did not have a palette knife and my town did not have any shops that sold it. so I cut a similar shape out of a plastic box. thank u kevin for helping me improve my art.
I love how detailed this looks when really it’s just technique and some skill. I really believe anyone with a love for painting no matter what skill level will be able to accomplish something similar as long as they follow your technique. Great job!
WOW!! That has to be the most realistic painting i have ever seen! The contrasting colours & blending are simply beautiful! Absolutely amazing! Going to watch more of you`re videos now Kevin, You are a joy to watch.
First, you should start with a white basecoat. This will make it much easies to blend the colors. I use Midnight Black, it is really a dark purple-grey color. Hope this helps.
I would be totally ok if your videos were a little longer and showed the whole process of putting in the mountains. this skill eludes me and I would appreciate any close up shots, tips or guidance in this area. This is a gorgeous painting!
He friendKevin, your mountains are the best ...Your paintings are realy realy the best soooooo beautiful !!!! And you are a fantastic teacher!!! I love it and it make me very happy every time a see you painting and when you sharing everyting. Thank you so much and God bless
Best tutorial i have watched so far..you are awaesome ..clouds and snowy mountains has always been a challenge for me..thanks a lot..i shall definitely buy your CD.
This is a very "busy" scene, but I have followed along with all of it and am doing it now - still nothing compares to your touch with the brush. Thanks, Kevin!!!
Such a dramatic and beautiful landscape !❤️🤗❤️ Also, I have to say that I simply love using palette knife for the snowy mountains effect. I just tried it on my last painting and I’m not going back to another technique!
Hi Kevin, really enjoy watching and getting inspired by your fantastic artwork, your art is just as beautiful as you are, never get tired of watching your various techniques on how you bring a painting to life. Great work Kevin, look forward to seeing more of you and your beautiful work, take care buddy. Xx
Amazing painting. My favorite things to paint are snowy mountains and pine trees with snow on them. Enjoyed this vlog alot. It took me to my happy place!! Haha!!
OMG , I haven’t draw since 4 years you know i got this artblock I don’t know why but your drawing omg made me feel like I wanna draw again and i got that feelings to art I swear my tears are in my eyes 😢
This is unbelievably beautiful Kevin. I am a newbie using acrylics but hope to be half as good as you in many years from now, lol. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent with all of us.
Jade Zee how's it not real painting?, this guy probably sales these paintings for lots of money.... depending on the size of the canvas that is. my mom has a big painting of flamingos in her house, it's about 100 dollars... I asked because I want to open up my business of painting.
I usually thought that the right way was adding the white parts and then the dark parts later but now I see I was wrong. You've taught me a new way and much easier one. Thank you!
**Kevin** I enjoy your creativity and the colors you use a lot. Your **Paintings** are so **Beautiful.** Thank you ** for sharing. I have watched so many now. Please keep them coming. **God Bless**
Best art video ever seen...i would always skip but everything about you and your words and the art had me fixed... Soo happy i came across your channel ♥️

Para um país tropical como o nosso, é confortante ter um quadro deste na parede. Sim! Este quadro é muito bonito, nos trás uma sensação de paz e friozinho também. Lindo!
Actually I think he's using acrylic paints cuz that's how I found them I put acrylic paint in The Thirst bar and he came up so I think he's using acrylics
yes, canvas usually covered in liquid white or liquid black in heavy forest areas. watch the bob ross videos, he explains what he has done to the canvas before starting. Kevin's paintings are more detailed than bob's though. The wet on wet technique is excellent.
Steve Mackins Thanks. I've seen it since I made the comment last month and have even done it a few times. Still need to figure out if I'm putting on too much or if I'm having other problems. I can't seem to get my Titanium White to stick to the canvas after putting in the blue sky. I think I'm putting on too much blue, but I can't tell. And its not like I can afford to keep trying over and over again. Its not like a simple piece of paper, canvases cost money.
joshjhutton you are probably using too much blue. thinned paint will always stick to thicker paint. use very little liquid white too, just a thin even coat is what you want.
Yes, the technique is called alla prima. You start with a thin coat of liquid white or liquid clear then use varying colors of oil paints to paint the subject.
Great job Kevin, great to see you passing your skills onto others, I'm a pencil artist myself but watching this defo makes me want to crack out some paints and have a go .
Kevin you are amazing ....... make it looks so simple to do it ..... I am a beginner without a curse and like the abstract side but your way of painting nature is so lovely that I will give a go ... thanks to teach so well ....
Just plain awesome, this guy is! As a painter I try to follow his techniques, with some success, but nowhere near this great. This guy is very skilled and I hope he keeps coming out with more and more videos here because I simply enjoy all of them.
This is amazing! This is what I've been looking for so long! Amazing paint! .. Snow.. mist... clouds... That's what I like.. I love painting to... But I never had a chance to study in art school... So.. I don't know all those techniques... While watching such videos I feel so happy watching a process of creating a masterpiece.. and a little sad.. that I can't do that even a little... Where I live here all art tools are so expensive... I cannot buy not a painting nor paints and other tools to draw :( But thank you for such an amazing work! My favorite painting ever!
man i have become a great fan of u kevin i loved the way you paint so much and i loved that idea i will try it too lets see if my paintings will look like yours ..
For someone who paints in this style but acrylic.... I've learnt a new type of sky to do as it's very effective.....this inspires me so much to go back to my roots and th4se types of landscapes.... besides, you're very talented and I am addicted yo watching your videos for inspiration....keep up the great work :)

Yeah, i have no idea what happened at 4:11. It went from nice looking mountains to amazing mountains.
Can't show the hundreds of hours of training,
only the results of it.
Which makes it appear magical and elusive.
Amazing!!!

And, on Acrylic, its difficult to apply blending technics like oil does
it looks like a pice of cake for you. but to create a painting like this I'll need 2 years.
Bp Rijal actually if you never painted nor drew before it's going to take longer, even if you are a lot older. I started drawing and painting at 6.
Jade Zee how's it not real painting?, this guy probably sales these paintings for lots of money.... depending on the size of the canvas that is. my mom has a big painting of flamingos in her house, it's about 100 dollars... I asked because I want to open up my business of painting.
he need like 10 min. I will need a hour or more and my comment will be: why dosen't mine look like that?
Bong Me this video will shorten down it was probably more like 30 minutes
Bp Rijal is it done?
Вы просто нереально талантливы и виртуозны! Благодарю за шикарный и подробный мастер-класс!
Wow you are an amazing artist! 💕💗💓I subscribed and look forward to see more paintings!
Woah. And all you need is 3 colors (black, white, blue) and 4 brushes (the knife, 1 inch brush, wide brush, fan brush)!
Am i the only one that has noticed he can make $1600.00 paintings in 10-15.... that is FREAKING AMAZING

Please do some post processing and have your colour palette up on screen thanks!
I'd hazard a guess that the white is titanium white the blue is either phalo of Prussian and the black is ivory or midnight

Does the canvass have to be wet before beginning? I'm confused with the idea of "wet on wet". I keep hearing it, but I've never seen it done.
