A Brand new chapter has begun.
We leave Marina life and all the security and convenience of having shoreline power. And begin a new chapter on an 'end of garden' mooring at Golden Nook Farm Moorings near Cheshire. This series will document our transition to being totally off grid and living as sustainably as we possible can, growing some of our own food and foraging. Follow us on our journey as create the perfect base to moor our narrowboat - Oddstruck Belle

Exciting times ahead! It's always emotional when we make changes, I'm about to embark on something very new and I'm excited and terrified in equal measures! I also love Autumn, it's my most favourite time of year. It's wonderful to let nature remind us how amazing it is to let go...as each golden brown leaf flutters down I too let go a little of the old me, the negatives and the baggage I no longer need to carry. Then hole up for the Winter preparing for fresh new growth in Spring. Good luck with your new journey! 💚☯🙏💚

Hi Shell Chris,it must have been a hard decision to make to leave the Marina wear you had everything you needed laundry showers etc ,I truly hope you have made the right decision if not it’s go back to a Marina I guess it must be cheaper wear you are going then the Marina,,I’m sure in time you will both be happy wear you are going ,is it closer to work for you Chris?how far from the Marina to your new mooring ,just love you two so much you have given me a lot of pleasure to watch you on your journeys and Marina life ,I think you need to get a good generator to keep everything working? ,good drone shots,first impression lovely.take care keep safe lot of love to you both,John 😍🥰🦵👀🇬🇧🌹😜🤩💜💜💜
Such lovely words John, thank you. We’ve just installed 660w of solar John and haven’t had to run the engine since! But we will need to look at something for the Winter months… we talk about all of these things in this weeks episode which should be out tomorrow or Monday.

The sustainable remark struck me as a tad heavy handed given your living situation. You live ON A BOAT. You're already orders of magnitude more environmentally friendly than ANY hippie with grass induced delusions of a utopian paradise. Plainly speaking, the most polluting narrowboat is still more environmentally friendly than the allegedly greenest recycled soda bottle hovel on land. Don't fall into the con of guilt inducement. That's the arena of the Catholic mother, and holiday charity bell ringers.
