That’s so exciting. I used to cruise the canals looking enviously at those moorings. I think you’re going to be very happy when you get everything set up. I feel excited for you. At one point when you were talking about your veg patch, I was shouting sweet corn or Maize as my 92 year old father calls it and when you said a green house, or poly tunnels, which we have, I was thinking, peppers, cucumbers and those golden tomatoes 😁 I’m watching from my new campervan in the Derbyshire hills 😊 and we’re heading home after a tour of Pembrokeshire. If you’re worried about energy you could watch the travel trolls on UA-cam because they’re full time van lifers and have recently tried out a couple of what looked to me like great power packs that may help you and lift your stress . Thanks for sharing your wonderful mooring. I think it’s wonderful. x

You'll tune the cars out eventually and you won't even notice they are there. Might be a bit rough for a while especially if there are big trucks using the road. They can be very noisy.
Great plans for the mooring. 💚 Planting next spring will be great fun. Being on the offside it should be more peaceful than right on the towpath with people walking or riding past (probably loudly) and staring in your windows!

Don’t think we are going to get a Jenny John. We have a travel pack on the engine that produces 3k watts, so no need really…. But obviously that may change!!! We’ve got a Hackett like cell, perfect to charge phones, drones and cameras…. Xxx

Mooring looks great and will be fantastic once you have it the way you want. So much better than on a finger mooring in a marina, even though you're without a hookup. I'm now looking forward to finding out what power problems you had and how you resolved them :) Take care!

There is a wonderful book by Derek Fell called Vertical Gardening that I think would give you some awesome ideas!
I have been dreaming fir years of a narrowboat, but living here in America by the ocean, not so practical! So I just watch vlogs and dream! Just found yours! I love the style of you videos! Such beautiful moments! Hope you keep making them!

So, I'd been thinking that I could never live on a narrowboat because I need (for dirt therapy) to have more garden than could be managed on board. You've solved that problem handily! Your veg list is a little ambitious, though. I could easily see the pumpkin taking up the whole bed while demanding much of your pathway as well.
Yes it’s a dream come true Jane, ever since we interviewed Sophia earlier in the year, we’ve been dreaming of some outside space we are going to increase the growing ng space with raised beds by the boat too…. But yeas, it’s a little ambitious…. 😬😅😊❤️🏴☠️
Wow, that’s great and will be super when finished. What a nice project to have. You’ll be so happy. Soon you will become oblivious to the traffic sounds…apparently we have dogs barking all the time, but I never noticed until someone pointed it out to me.

People don't always realise that moving off-grid with the power is not as easy as just pulling out the shoreline. It needs a different way of looking at your energy needs. Solar is good but I expect you are looking at other energy sources apart from running the engine. Are you getting a wind turbine? ps growing more of your own food will be great :)

We first came here to interview the artist Sophia ( ua-cam.com/video/FP2nMpdWRPU/v-deo.html ), and we’re just very, very lucky to get a spot when we enquired… the mooring has water, but no electricity. 👌❤️🏴☠️😊

While we are both working full time it will be the other way round, cruising periodically, which is why we wanted this space 👌😊
I’ve just moved out of a marina on to a linear mooring love it but struggling to get my head around mooring up luckily I had help when I moved onto it yesterday but I’m a solo cruiser and need to nail it on my own ! How do you manage yours do you reverse in ?
Hey Charlie, we are of the bow in first and then the stern….. and as soon as you can get off the stern safely with the centre line….. the one definite, if no one is watching you’ll mail it first time, if anyone is watching it will go horribly wrong!!!! Good luck xxx

We aren’t sure Susan, long term plan is to continually cruise, but I think we will always keep this as a base. There are a few boaters that have been here over 25 years! Xxx

Feels good to be unhooked. The solar is more than covering all our needs and that’s with Shell ‘2 screens’ working from home 3 days a week! Do it!!!!! Xxx
How do you grow broccoli and cauliflower without a million caterpillars getting to it first?
