You're the first reviewer I've seen that doesn't take off the horizontal plate when mounting vertically. Does it cause any problems keeping it on there while you use it? If not, that's a huge win for anyone that needs to quickly switch between horizontal and vertical shooting. Thanks for the awesome review and all your work!
its all physics. Also, having that horizontal arm is great for adding bottom counterweights when needed
SAME! Never seen someone do it that way! Way easier to swap back and forth!
I really liked the instruction on shutter priority mode! Very helpful to understand what tips and tricks to use in different situations, and incorporated with the new gimbal. Keep up the great work!
this video made me buy the rs3 mini , i just like how the payload and the advanced features of the dji rs3 mini are more advanced compared to other small gimbals of the same size

Thanks for the lens change tip. When testing it out, I discovered that the 45° tilt feature at 5:31 also includes a 45° tilt DOWN which makes it much easier to navigate the menu for any major camera settings changes.

Only BL can make a gimbal look so much like a Steadicam. Beautiful! Discipline, creds, kudos and pronams. So grateful for showing us that small cameras can make smooth video. Hard to understand how few Tubers care about this - bouncy-bouncy. Ugh-ly. The tracking shot along the wall was amazing. Must learn to ninja walk while twisting sideways...

That wide lens is distorting you like crazy. When I saw the thumbnail I was like "What have they done to my Brandon?" Great content as always. The gimbal is very stealthy for travel.

I have this gimbal for over a year now. I record walking tour/video tours (see my channel). What I really like about this gimbal is the fact that it is really lightweight and easy to use. Also the battery performance is outstanding. I have filmed up to 8 hours a day with this gimbal and never run out of battery. The major con in my opinion is the stabilization. itself It is not that smooth (at least not my gimbal). The amount of shakiness is still really persistent and I always require internal stabilization (camera) applied or even post-processing stabilization in order to get the best result. Which takes a lot of extra time and effort.
Ah ha!!! So if you look extremely careful on a 4K monitor, you can actually see that Brandon’s feet don’t actually touch the ground when he walks. That’s how he gets this buttery smooth footage. I finally have my answer!

to be compact it does its job well but it's not quite perfect.
regarding the weight it is not 795 grams but 843 grams excluding the supplied tripod.
A well done review and very thorough....just when I didn't think I needed another gimbal.....LOL!

Thanks for your thoughts on this one Brandon. I'm still using a Moza Air 1 gimbal, which if I recall correctly, you were a big fan of for a while. And it was primarily because of its size and weight. This finally seems like a powerful gimbal that is also very compact and doesn't seem to compromise on feature set like some of the other compact gimbals from competitors.
Finally a UA-cam videographer that tells us what products he uses and walks us through the process!
Cool gimbal. Size is perfect for travelling. I wish it was shot and exported at 30 fps though so we can see how clean the motion looks. 24 fps movement + UA-cam just seems like a jittery mess.

You guys were running with the gimbal and the footage was smooth. Like seriously how?! I was walking with this gimbal and A7iii + Sigma 28-70mm, super balanced gimbal (camera rests in every position), tried soft walking to record street walk video and yet the footage was shaky... 😢
dude why is no one talking about those overhead gimbal shots! OMG they are fireeeee w the monopod extension, I might need to configure something like that just to find those extended gimbal looks!
I was about to buy the Zhiyun M3 2 hours ago and tested it in store and found out it is not the best for my camera, what is the coincidence this is announced just after my decision!?

I want to use it with a SONY ZV-E1 with a Smallrig cage. Mostly going to use it to get camera movements like in movies (dolly in/out, tracking, etc etc)

Sold me. Rs3 mini for my first gimbal. I was was debating on getting the Rs3 but I don’t want to get too caught up into the features I want to focus on the shots. Plus this is smaller and I shoot swim photography. I need to move light.
