Just got it, it's the synth I was looking for (I own Massive, Serum and others) :
- fat analog-like sound,
- 1-panel-GUI
- simple old school architecture
- good modulation features
What I dislike :
- not stand-alone VST but Reaktor 6 ensemble
- no easy 1-click memory slots for saving sounds during sound designing.
This synth would be perfect if it was a simple stand alone VST, with memory slots like old synths to avoid getting into menus for saving/loading user patches...
Something I'll look forward to getting when I upgrade to KOMPLETE 13 in a few years.
I also intend to upgrade, maybe in 7 years...
So many software updates new synths, new sounds packs, new loop packs, new drumbkits, new hardware synths... I think I'm going to stay off the web for a while and use what I have.
You right, and they started sounds and works very simillar. I guess i gonna buy good one hardware synthesiser and keep focus on it
Omnisphere, Serum and Diva and you won´t need any other software synth in your life...i can use them for every single project while NI is running in circles, releasing one boring synth after another...
@@andreasgajewskiI'm own diva ,repro, zebra 2 ,omni and many many more. I agree you need just few. I'm not fan wavetable synth. I prefer old style hardware synth and diva zebra n repro got it. Also Rob Papen amazing synths got. Piece like this for me it's not worth buying. Anyway it's gonna be in next Komplete 13 so still I gonna have it
@@andreasgajewski If you own Falcon you don't even need them....
@@Franzware yea maybe but i really don´t like the design of falcon. it´s hard to understand if you´re not a pro. i´m more the "i use presets but tweak them to my needs" guy and there aren´t that many presets for falcon sadly. And the expansions aren´t great.
this actually might be one of the smartest designs i've ever seen for a virtual synth :o
did you check out serum? For me it´s the best synth out there because you can make anything out of it. Combined with Diva and Omni2 and you won´t need anything else
Andreas Gajewski i’m a been fan of serum but i think this may be even *more* intuitive. it’s all on one single page with virtually zero menus. obviously it doesn’t do as much as serum’s wavetable, sampler, and fx capabilities but for a basic subtractive synth this Super 8 design looks ridiculously user friendly
I agree I think for people just beginning to learn about synthesis the layout is really well thought out and gives a lot of flexibility
Your new commercial strategy ( but above all oriented towards the musician rather than the buyer ) strikes me positively. Some of my wishes have been fulfilled and I hope that this trend will move towards a new momentum. The Native Instruments brand deserved something more and you are heading down this path. Well done
I absolutely love this and razor's interfaces. So clean, precise and straight to the point without unneccesary pages.
Please release any new Reaktor product with scalable 4K GUI.
that means w10 only....you like 10 ? you like an OS that constantly breaks your projects and renders hardware incompatible ?
scalable would be nice, but not at such a high cost for the more discerning user Time is better spent creating than troubleshooting
@@laszlozoltan5021 Funny, Windows 10 works fine here. And yes, scalable gui is nice, does macOS not support this or something?
@@laszlozoltan5021 This is about supporting modern displays. Scalable GUIs exist on macOS today, confused why you talk about only Windows 10. Also, many have been forced to migrate to 10 due to lack of hardware, however I agree I like macOS and I still use a Mac myself.
Scalable GUI exist on Mac today. For instance Logic has scalable GUI and scalable native plug-ins today. Cubase on Mac and PC has a GUI supporting modern displays.
3rd party plug-ins from Native Instrument do not support modern displays. Retina Mac displays (resolution above 1080P has existed) for over 5 years now.
All I am saying is that is time to try and adapt NI software to modern displays. Chill, please.
@Lairdriver Please, the reason is about keeping up with modern displays. I think we just have to agree that we will disagree on this matter. :)
@@laszlozoltan5021 I use 10, no issues. What's up with your system?
Excellent GUI!!! Probably the easiest one to use I’ve seen in a long time!
I'm confused, do Absynth/Massive/Razor/Rounds/etc. not count as polyphonic synths?
Thinking the same 😂
Yes but they are super old
I believe they’re specifically talking about old school style poly synth. Like Monark.
Is it just me or are Native Instruments just leaps ahead of the competition? Hardware, software, sounds and virtual instruments... wow. It's so difficult to save money, every time I think, that's it, I'm not buying anymore gear, they drop something I simply must have... Must exercise more self control. :-) Now I have to buy SUPER 8 :-)
Thanks NI, now I have to go on a diet having now just spent my weekly allowance on my new toy :-) Maybe I'll simply spend the weekend in the studio making music, who needs to go outside? :-)
Highly underrated synth. Fits perfectly between complexity of sound design and speed at which you get from A - Z. A little update on noise osc would be my only wish.
I see elements of a Prophet 5 and Alpha Juno in the oscillator section
I like it because it sounds so complete! And it gives the vibes I really need. Thank you!
Sounds great and even though I have plenty of analog power, this format definitely hits a lot of features older (and most newer) analog synths just can't go. Very cool! Just might pick this up during this huge PA sale.
Am I missing something? How is this the first NI Polysynth since the Pro 53?
Think what they're implying by "polysynth" is "virtual analog emulation of classic poly synth" rather than "synth capable of polyphony"
@@tristanawild380 Yea, i thought as much, though i found it a bit vague. Thanks for caring enough to answer, anyway. May inspiration be with you : )
Can't you already get like all these sounds from one of the many other NI products? Why yet another?!?!?
pesto12601 Then just use Massive and never use another synth. Whatever suits your style.I have been using analog polysynths for most of my life and this layout is really familiar to me and this offers much more than any of my synths and for little to no money. To me this is the most exciting synth in a long time.
I'd say the answer is NO because this is a synth with retro analogue character, you could get close using several instances of Monark inside of Reaktor to build a Polyphonic Monark but the interface would not be nice and friendly at all.
Downloaded demo. Sounded pretty decent to me. With my GrandMother, and my Neutron, I needed a poly synth in box. Just might do it.
More of the same !! Put out massive x ..now please
no demo / trial available :/
Please add Super8 to the list of Reaktor synths that run in standalone machine+.
Its far better suited to the non PC environment than the dumb selection on it right now.
Would anyone tell me what is the most distinctive feature for this polysyth? Compared to similar products on the market? I have Reason, it seems that i can do the same thing in there?
would you prefer this over serum?
You had me at British accent
Thank you :D
Please Deep Sample a ViolinBass I wanna get the nice AbbyRoad Beetles Vintage 60s Bass sound
Hmm. I havent touched Super 8 in a while. I am having an issue with the preset browser. Some sounds wont trigger at all when i press a key. If i then move one preset back or forth and back to the non working preset , it will work fine. Weird behaviour. And very bad that the gui is so bright with no option to a different skin
I've been looking for a synth that has presets for modern sci-fi and also some modern takes on retro but I just can't find any with great presets, it seems like they're all the same sounds, I've got 10 synths and the presets are basically the same. I know I can make my own, and I have before but I just like to make music not twist knobs for an hour to find one sound I like. Oh well, the search continues. Nice interface design though.
I was beginning to think I was a synth app junkie but I'm good. I've got everything worth having from NI and Arturia. This is just more of the same things I already have. I was looking forward to Massive X though whenever that happens. Watching this video made me feel like I was watching one of those old 70s flicks with the cheesy soundtrack and the Brady Bunch colors.
BagdadBill same here bro’ - All a game at this point.
ascissors no need to be a dick
@@Rgdonaire_07 Nah he's right
They should do fm8 2 would live to see it.. Tons of wave tables and better fx section
Pretty cool!
NI, you may have some awesome products, but you seriously need to stop throwing content at us hoping something sticks. I like Reaktor, Absynth, and Massive because those are synths that literally span several genres and can do the work of several of your recent Kontakt expansions. Pick a product and focus it like you used to!
Like Massive X. Super late.
Would be great of the actual component files and libraries were downloaded after purchasing, reinstalling and relocating ad nauseam.
**y a w n i n g i n t e n s i f i e s**
HAS NO MIDI LEARN FUNCTION!!!
NI please update Massive X with a Midi learn function and being able to save presets in folders like Massive had.. it just annoys having limitations... thanks!!
I’m still waiting for someone to compare this to the hardware UDO Super 6, because to me it looks and sounds very similar to the hardware Super 6.
2 osc, 1 filter and amp: what a revolutionary concept! Did it already have patch memory in those days?
So is this jupiter 8 emulation?
I think this is a really great little synth. Unique hard sound like lots of reactor stuff (Very digital, not analog at all to me). Nice oscillators with deformers. The interface makes it easy to poke around and experiment. Wonder about CPU hit? I would look forward to this in the next Komplete version. Goes right along side Rounds and FORM. Nice....
So NI is trying to sell a side order before Massive X gets release. Why couldn’t this be Massive’s X? Is this a mind game? Ya’ll know how many people waiting for that synth, why play game??? We want Massive x! We want Massive x! We want Massive x! Nowwwww!
Do i see new blocks?
What's the price?
Available in komplete 13?
Yes, it is.
Does it run in Windows 7?
You'll need Windows 10 for this!
I dig it :)
I'm disappointed that the ability to route keytracking to panning hasn't been carried over from MASSIVE. Probably going to pass this one up.
Sold 👨🏼⚖️
ik he4b nog nooit geluk gehad om mochen mee te doen kunnen jullie mij helpen als blijft 1 keer als blijjft
Replicate the Stranger Things Opening theme with Super 8. Please
Super 8
Yep!
When is tractor DJ 2 being released spring will soon be over
The interface is very nice but the sounds are nothing that can't be found on dozens of other soft-synths including freebies.
Is this why Massive X is late? NI trying to make money before the Komplete owners get Massive X. Why do we need another poly synth?
just FYI, I own a Juno 106 and JX3P and this does not sound like either one of them. This is missing all the good frequencies. This makes me wonder if NI is desperate for money.
Hardware synth all sound different. Polivoks, korg
it does not grab me.... sorry
Good interface but very bright and 'soft synth' sounding. Nothing a small -2-3db cut with eq cant fix to give it a more analogue sound. Still no match for arturia Jupiter emulation in terms of authenticity.
I already have better sounding synths from arturia and plugin alliance. Hurry up and release massive x.
牛逼的音色
Bruh this is serum on budget level
Serum is a wavetable synth. Sure it can do the stuff that this can do but this thing cant do anything like serum can, so i wouldn't call it serum on a budget level. Does look pretty neat though.
Lol how? This has nothing to do with serum, it emulates vintage synths, serum is the cleanest digital synth on the market.
@@myyoutubeprofile-c3u but you can create vintage sounding patches like many real emulations aswell. It´s an allrounder.
@@andreasgajewski yeh that is so true. I have made loads of roland juno sounds in serum
This reminds me of Razor if Razor got injected with steroids.
Picked up Super 8 yesterday and had some fun making a little track with it... great work, NI! ua-cam.com/video/i-sp7zxxv6U/v-deo.html
Got enough synths already. Where's the innovation?
mamuefa1 Synths are the future. What innovation did you have in mind? Please tell us more wise one?
@@Epicon8 check out serum...you can make anything with it while native just releases one boring synth after another...seriously, once you have omnisphere or serum or Diva you don´t need any other synth...they should include options for own samples or release more professional soundlibraries. All the orchestral libraries are basic, nothing special and far away from professional Libraries like CSS, Hollywood strings, Ark 1 etc...I have the komplete 10 bundle and since then nothing happened at NI which makes me want to upgrade.
@@Epicon8 I'm just a user. Not a developer. Are you?
Oh, do you know Tim Exile?
"The Finger" was an innovation for me.
Oh and btw: what do you mean with this "synths are the future" phrase? Doesn't say anything to me.
I'm the future. Lol
Crazy that people are still using software synths. I stopped 10 years ago.
Every soft synth sounds the same, like a soft synth...
@@tColorsinspacerecordings Combination is key
I don't feel inspired by this. Sorry. Much better options available for free by the Reaktor user community.
It's weird that NI is still making generic softsynths in 2019. Like Komplete doesn't already have a dozen forgettable nameless synths.
@@nathanaelbennett8286 not sure if this its a good idea to release anything before Massive X
Where do I get the things from the community?
@@klausherbert3040 cant paste it here but if you search Native Instruments, Forum , Comunity , Reaktor - You will find it.
Klaus-Herbert Wachtelhuber my fave: www.native-instruments.com/en/reaktor-community/reaktor-user-library/entry/show/11121/
Whats the point of this synth? It literally offers nothing new. This has all been done 100's of times before. It's not bad. Just seems pointless.
Sounds like the future and the past at the same time. Forever anachronistic.
Meh..
its* intuitive interface
This made zero impression on me. I can achieve the same and more with already existing NI Products, stock DAW synths or even build this in Reaktor in no time. Why would anybody even buy this?
I'm interested because I just want an easy synth GUI that works with KK keyboards. Sure I can replicate these sounds on other synths, but I just find most of them over-complicated or too bloated for my uses.
300,000 products already NI. Getting stupid by now.
Sorry but this is another "toy like" product. Wake me up when you release a HARDWARE synth with full integration between a Komplete Kontrol 76 and 88 semi weighted keys, velocity sensitive and aftertouch, and the Komplete 12 Ultimate. 7" tilt touch screen and an affordable price. Musicians are going back to hardware. Too much laptops for everything is tiring. It's become an addiction that must stop. For health. Frankly.
Massive is one of the most overrated synths on the market. I don’t know why everyone uses it, you can’t even make a decent supersaw sound because of the voicing limitations. I see massive as the ultimate noob synth.
Nice but nothing new at all. It's a synth, so doubtful anyone's gonna reinvent that particular wheel.
