As a long time Ni products user ( more than 12 years now ) & mostly as a non guitar player, i never bothered to use Guitar Rig ... today, after upgrading Komplete, i open Guitar Rig & WTF !!! this is the type of rack i've always dreamed of !!! the GUI is a dream , easy to use, the sound guys, the sound is so accurate & this is a dream field for sound design ... not only for guitar players !! I use Komplete 13 ultimate & this is, by far, the best product Ni dropped ... I'd love to see the same GUI in Komplete kontrol, Kontakt & reaktor.
I was an avid user of Bias FX until I tried Guitar Rig 6. Don't get me wrong, Bias is still a pretty good software and sounds amazing, but Jesus Christ GR6 is like playing through a real amp. I was blown away at the sound quality and how real it sounds. Definitely a massive improvement from GR5
Are you able to change sounds with MIDI program change messages? I’m still stuck using GR5 live because I can’t figure out where they moved it in GR6. The manual is puzzling at best.
Not looking at price now... just quality. And this sim has highest quality and versatility. Wow on that vocal modification you were doing. And great voice, Sophia!!
Took the words out of my mouth. NI recently sent out a survey in regards to Kontakt, in which I participated...I’d like to think that I’m overwhelmingly not the only person who asked for a GUI update in that survey. Only thing is...will they actually listen this time. Ppl have been asking for this for years now.
Yea I definitely agree. Kontakt UI definitely needs a little over haul. I also think Native Instruments need to make a easier way to add "unofficial" Kontakt libraries to to libraries list.
What they did right was give you just enough in the free version which i fell in love with and now im like whooooahh!!! So much to do cant wait to get through it all for years to come!!!
The preset I'm most liking is the Big Monster on a stratocaster using noise gate set to the middle position and a Drop C tuning. It sounds so perfect for me and I love the brutal tone it's giving to my guitar.
Sadly NI didn't update their original amps, apart from fixing the tremolo on the AC Box. If you compare GR5 amps with GR6, with the same cabinets and all, they will sound exactly the same. However, you can enable oversampling with the HI button on GR5. For some reason, NI decided to remove that button and effectively force you to play at the native samplerate which made no sense to me as to why they'd do that. The New ICM amps though sound crazy realistic though. But that's the biggest problem with GR6, is that you have 2 ultra realistic new amps and then you got everything else which sounds very dated. I saw a video recently of someone comparing GR6 to GR1 and it's actually shocking and disappointing how similar the amp modeling is. I appreciate all the new effects, but NI, we deserve better than this!
yes, all the effects are also free for NI customers, I wanted to upgrade but I think I'm going to wait if they add more ICM amps, I already have better Plugin Alliance amps
I realise that this is an old thread _but_ you have this backwards; GR6 is stuck in HI mode of GR5 which is why I stuck with GR5 Pro. I was pleasantly surprised to find that GR5 runs beautifully on my puny W10 tablet with a Z8350 CPU and 4g RAM. I am only comfortable when my CPU load is under 60%. However, I can't use the HI mode because it drags my CPU down. The same as GR6. I don't care because GR5 sounds amazing and it still includes a looper which I think was dropped for GR6(?)
You can use a real looper, I mean stereo looper pedal. It means you experiment with the looper sounds with a dry guitar signal even with out guitar rig 6. Or use 2 mono loppers, for left and right.
Is there something I’m missing when using guitar rig? Should my audio interface guitar input be low? High? My guitar doesn’t sound really good through it. What settings should I focus on? Because when I turn the input down all the way, I can’t hear the guitar much. 🤷♂️
Dear people at Native Instruments! I really love GR 6 Pro. I have a request about how to create signal chain by using the tools split mix etc. The manual is a bit too general to learn from it. Thank you.

Great Video! Question: Is there a way to get a Uni-Vibe sound effect? There's nothing in the "modulations" effect section that really truly resembles that "Trower/Hendrix" Uni-Vibe sound, which is actually suprising based on all the other plethora of effects there are. No Uni-Vibe? Seriously? For Real? or am I missing something. Please advise/help. Thanks!

That looks pretty powerful. Are the plugins that exist in single version identical to those present in Guitar Rig? Like Driver, DIRT/BITE/FREAK, VC160, etc... Thanks.
Can I record something with GR6 Pro and play it back SLOW, for example at 0.5 speed? The tapedeck in GR5 Pro or the Loop function could not do that. This is not for home recording but for practicing purposes (clean playing, timing, reduce string noise etc).
Is there anyway to play with the app open in standalone mode and have the effects play in your DAW? My plugin for Guitar Rig 6 doesn't work in the program I'm using but it runs just fine by itself
How do I hear the effects I've applied to my guitar signal? I can hear a clean signal and Guitar Rig 6 is receiving my guitar's input, but I cannot hear any of the effects I've added. I want to use Guitar Rig 6 like an effects pedal, but I can't hear any of the effects.

I tried Guitar Rig 6 after my rather negative experience with other virtual amp simulators. The UI is clean and functional - with good scaling options (still no full screen but my guess it's a VST limitation). The volume level of all amps is well balanced, so you don't have to constantly tweak the volume nob. The selection of amps is genuinely interesting and distinct to my amateur ears. Yet I don't feel overwhelmed with choices, thanks to clever filtering options. You can make educated decision if this is worth purchasing by trying the demo, which you can use for 30 minutes with no limitations. Once the time runs out you loose all your selections but can try again from scratch. Much better than competing Amplitube where I couldn't even download the demo (maybe they have fixed it since, dunno). Overall this feels much more polished than Bias products, which I was considering getting into, but GR6 feels like much better investment, so I plan to get it soon (still abusing the demo). Of course, that's just my perspective and your experience may vary.

Hi, I am looking for a way to switch between presets by a pedal. It would be great switching from custom presets in the order I need/like without touching the mouse or up/down keys on my keyboard while I am playing the guitar. A foot pedal would be the best. Does any pedal like this exist which works with Guitar Rig 6 as MIDI that I could use for this kinda purpose? Thanks for your answer.
Behringer FBC1010 with an eprom. Works better than Guitar rig pedal as well. It gives you 2 foot controllers and the eprom chip allows you to control each individual pedal/fx u assign it to. Without the eprom chip it only lets you shuffle thru presets. 150 dollars altogether. A steal in my book.

A steal in my book.
yes i want to know this too, especially without pedal board
How can I order Maschine + from the website for my son if the shipping and billing screen is not working... I have a shipping address and the billing address is different, but when I uncheck the billing same as shipping address box, it will not let me put in my billing address... It keeps the shipping address instead... I'm not trying to send it to myself...
This looks awsome. Do you need a guitar to use Guitar Rig 6? Or does it have built in guitar sounds from the program itself that can be used with a midi keyboard?
You would need audio to be routed through Guitar Rig 6 Pro and not midi.
just came back here to say its nearly the end of 2021 and there still hasnt been any "regular updates" that have brought any new ICM amps to guitar rig.
It's coming pretty soon 👀
@@NativeInstruments ok now i'm hype, your ICM amps are genuinely the most realistic feeling amp emulations i've played
@@NativeInstruments it's been 5 months already...
@@NativeInstruments Is one year your definition of "pretty soon"? I'm going to keep posting on here until there's an update.
