Thank you, Medek. I have made a Quick release mod for g27. It must be work with g25 too. I think belt mod for g27 can be done. I am not sure because of helical gears. And it is very quiet and it has almost zero deadzone. So, for now, belt mod is not in my plans. I have'nt decided that yet.

I'm thinking about remodeling the whole G25 internals in Fusion 360 or Solid Edge and see what kind modifications can be made when designing the belt drive mechanism. I'm very interested in a project like this, and the G25 has straight gears unlike the G27
@@MedekTheOne first you should make a proper 3d model of gears and metal plate. Straight teeths are good for modification. I think you must change positions of motors. Than take a look my 3d printed main gear. The Red one. You will understand...

Very cool, thanks for the video. Few things you could improve on if you're still working on it. The tensioner you can use spring to give it some tension, attach it to the purple bar if you need to and modify the shape if you want a single way return system. I would loctite (and nylon nut) the adjustment nut/bolt as well as the tensioner bolts really. Im surprised you didn't 3d print a cover for the exposed belt, I would've thought that would be an issue for dust etc, especially when you have an exhaust fan.

Hi Mate. I really didn’t. But too many things can be caused this. First you should check your power supply. Maybe your usb cable can be broken too. Wirst case scenario is faulty motherboard.
Hi I have an old g25 and I am considering of building a ''package'' with a real size steering wheel, I have a question, what locks the wheel from spinning beyond the degrees of rotation? Is it the motor? I am also considering removing the wheel sensor from the motor, since when when the motor is giving the feedback it's also changing the position of the steering wheel, it's definitely noticeable with small corrections, I think the teeth on my steering wheel are a bit worn and is causing some delay I can't control... Hi, If you want to change steering wheel, you can take a look my quick release video. Logitech g series Steering wheel has 900 degrees of rotation. It is limited by a black plastic part same asn Dfgt. G25 has straight teeths. So there ara some spaces between teehts. Like dfgt. You should take apart it to learn ratio of wheel shaft and motor. Sory about my english.

Me gustan tus videos incluso ya me hice mi volante de f1 aunque como no tengo para el nextion modifique tu diseño y le puse un lcd 2004 y me va full ah y en vez de tres botones en el centro le puse 4 encoders y me va de maravilla usted con su aporte de los archivos todo fue espectacular y se lo agradezco aunque no pude conseguir los acomples para mi g27 asi que hice una pequeña modificacion quitando el volante y ahi encima colocando el de f1 y usando las levas del g27 y me anda muy bien gracias saludos desde Colombia

cool! does the gear ratio change on the encoder disc? how does it fluctuate after the alteration, because the total number of holes on the sensor has changed? Or does he count the holes with each calibration? is it software tied to the total number of encoder holes from the factory?
Gear ratio of between main shaft with encoder shaft was 1/13 and It was counting 780 pulse per wheel rotation. Now. The encoder is at the rear of the motor. Gear ratio of between motor shaft with is 27,5. So now the encoder is counting 1650 pulse per wheel rotation. And the original board and software can handle this. Fortunately now the wheel is more sensitive than ever. I tried with 30 pulse encoder too. But it was less sensitive. I think your guesses are right. P. S. I am shooting my custom encoder tutorial video. It can help someone who has broken encoder wheel or pcb.

@@MrCelali none of them I bought it "broken'' faulty juice box the electrical supply was fried all the rest still works also fixed it with a laptop adapter but I got a logitech g920 before hand with pedals I like both of them but prefer the belt drive from thrustmaster and the sys from logitech you know and that's the reason why I wanna make one of both of them basically use the motor and all parts with belt and shaft on thrustmaster with the setup and pcb from logitech I know that It can be done and according to your guidance its simple im just scared if I shred both I'll end up with none at the end I was just asking for a few pointers

@@АртурСадыков-э3к no, it is going to work anyway. But, the motor shaft is turning twice than the encoder shaft. So when we put the encoder back of the motor, it counts twice than original. So when we turned the wheel 90 degree, pc understand it 180degree. So ıf you have 60 ppr wheel, you must have 30ppr to achive 900 degree with this mod. Or I should design a gear mechanisim for reduce turning of the encoder wheel half. when l it is mounted at the back of the motor. Hope you understand because of my english. 🙂

I actually have a modded g27, and i'm planning doing a upgrade. i already have an 895 24v 6000 rpm, and a BTS7960. My plan is to place the H-bridge to amplify the G27 H-Bridge signal, and use it with some gt2 pulleys and belts, letting the original base hub as it is. Do you have any idea how to work? The main problem is that the hub gear is helical
I think g27 belt mode isn't necessary. Because, g27 is very silent and almost there isn't deadzone. But, If you want more torque and speed, ofcourse you can try. If I want to do that, I will try to print mainshaft with htd3 teeth.

Diğer direksiyonlar üzerinde çalışmak için kutusuna kaldırdım. Bu modu yapmak yaklaşık 1 yıla mal oldu. Çok farklı şekillerde uzun denemeler yaptım. Ama en sağlam ve az maliyetli olanı buydu. Yaklaşık 2 ay kullandıktan sonra yayınlamaya karar verdim.
I wonder if the motor controller in this thing can handle my dumbass trying to stick a second motor in parallel and trying to use part of a steering column from an actual car...
@@MrCelali Yeah. Myself did a long ago. Basically replaced a fried G27 board with a DGFT board into G27 chassis. The DFGT board handled the 2 motors without problem (using a 31v 5amp PSU and heatsinks on the board mosfets). The speed and power gain was very noticiable, but the steer rotation was decreassed due to different gear ratios between G27 (1to16) and DFGT (1to13). For drifting was very nice, but to serious racing isn't ideal.

It depends where you are living. In my country, it is easy to reach belts, bolts, bearings. They are also cheap. You can be sure the cost is worth to what you get. But for me ı spend too much time to found it. And, I spend too much money which is not issue for me. But I learned a lot of things. That was my goal 🙂
@@labombaromba when the wheel reach end of the right or left point, turn blocking sytem is making a noise like "clack". Only one time. Probobley you didn't notice it. Because, in Games we are not turning wheel all left or right. So, they are not nececery. But main upgrade for silrnce is belt drive system. It is smooth, seamless, and quiet after mod.
converting my g29 to belt driven, helical gears are just don't work if you double the torque with much better motors, i wanted to ask if you could make an adapter to straight line gears because i can't find a dfgt center shaft, and the idea came that i could make it like you did on your dfgt, if you could design an adapter from the g29 shaft to straight line gears like yours i would buy it to finish my project, thanks for the feedback!
Hi, these days I am to busy. But I think you can use a g25 mecanic parts. İt has straight teeths. Maybe you can find broken second hand g25. Almost everything is the same with g29. But made a search before buy. Because I have never seen inside of it except videos. And I should say after g27 helical gears is working very well and silent except when you are off the track. İf you are going to use stock motors it is pointles gı make belt mod for it. But if you want more torque with new motor, ı wish you good luck. It is not in my plans to do belt mod for g series. I am going to release of plans for dfgt on thingiverse in next week....
Firstly, I just want to say great work. I purchased this project and just finished building option 1 last weekend on a DFGT I own. This video was very helpful figuring it all out and you put a lot of amazing work into this, so thank you so much. However, I noticed that my wheel rotation is reduced by half. The wheel calibrates fine and will go through the full 900 degrees on start up. When I change the wheel rotation in the settings to 900 degrees, for example, all of my programs, games and utilities will only allow me to rotate the wheel about 540ish degrees lock-to-lock. All inputs within that 900 degree rotation will be correlated to 540ish degrees, if that makes sense. I noticed that the original pinion gear/pulley that attached to the motor shaft has 20 teeth, but your project has 12. I also noticed that the gear ratio has been increased slightly. Is this what's affecting it? Is there a way to fix this in software/using drivers? Thank you once again for everything. You're a modding genius 💯
Wait a sec, I think it just figured it out. I should do option 2 for that 20 gear pulley. I also threw in an upgraded motor, so maybe my torque won't be too bad. I'll let you know if that works.

Original ratio between wheel and motor was (130/20)x(85/20)=6,5x4,25=27,625 Encoder to wheel ratio was 130/10=13 13x60=780PPR was counting. But option 1 gear ratio is 27,75 Encoder is attached to motor. So it is counting 27,75X60=1665PPR. I didn't have issue that you had. Which games did you have that problem. Sory about bad english. 🙂

I set my wheel rotation in the Logitech Gaming Software settings and I was consistantly getting that halfed ratio in every game I tried (Assetto Corsa, Richard Burns Rally, Truck Sim). I tried to build option 2, but I realized that I only have 210mm belts, not 216mm belts. I didn't notice it until after I had a lot of slack in the 363mm belt and rewatched your video. Unfortunately, I missed that belt, since it wasn't in the materials checklist at the beginning of the video :( Any other tips? What option did you use for the tests at the beginning of the video?

thats nice i just traded my custom mechanical keyboard for logitech dfgt but it got som issues that buttons work and shifter and peadls but led doesnt ppower on and ffb is not working i changed adapter that didnt help now its at my local guy thats very good with small electronics he fixes tvs laptops pc motherboard (he knows what hes doing unlike me) i hope he can fix it

No, g27 and g29 has helical gears. İt doesn't fit. An they don't have a secondary pulley. They have two motors. I have g27. For me, Only problem is deadzone. I think, It is not necessary to make a belt mode for them.

Logitech g series Steering wheel has 900 degrees of rotation. It is limited by a black plastic part same asn Dfgt.
G25 has straight teeths. So there ara some spaces between teehts. Like dfgt.
You should take apart it to learn ratio of wheel shaft and motor.

cool! does the gear ratio change on the encoder disc? how does it fluctuate after the alteration, because the total number of holes on the sensor has changed? Or does he count the holes with each calibration? is it software tied to the total number of encoder holes from the factory?
Gear ratio of between main shaft with encoder shaft was 1/13 and It was counting 780 pulse per wheel rotation.
Now. The encoder is at the rear of the motor. Gear ratio of between motor shaft with is 27,5. So now the encoder is counting 1650 pulse per wheel rotation. And the original board and software can handle this. Fortunately now the wheel is more sensitive than ever. I tried with 30 pulse encoder too. But it was less sensitive. I think your guesses are right.
P. S. I am shooting my custom encoder tutorial video. It can help someone who has broken encoder wheel or pcb.

@Moditek dude I have broken TX base can I just transfer and reuse the belts and motor and transplant it to a g920 pcb board and if so what do I need to keep in mind

@@MrCelali none of them I bought it "broken'' faulty juice box the electrical supply was fried all the rest still works also fixed it with a laptop adapter but I got a logitech g920 before hand with pedals I like both of them but prefer the belt drive from thrustmaster and the sys from logitech you know and that's the reason why I wanna make one of both of them basically use the motor and all parts with belt and shaft on thrustmaster with the setup and pcb from logitech I know that It can be done and according to your guidance its simple im just scared if I shred both I'll end up with none at the end I was just asking for a few pointers

@@АртурСадыков-э3к no, it is going to work anyway. But, the motor shaft is turning twice than the encoder shaft. So when we put the encoder back of the motor, it counts twice than original. So when we turned the wheel 90 degree, pc understand it 180degree. So ıf you have 60 ppr wheel, you must have 30ppr to achive 900 degree with this mod.
Or I should design a gear mechanisim for reduce turning of the encoder wheel half. when l it is mounted at the back of the motor.

I actually have a modded g27, and i'm planning doing a upgrade. i already have an 895 24v 6000 rpm, and a BTS7960. My plan is to place the H-bridge to amplify the G27 H-Bridge signal, and use it with some gt2 pulleys and belts, letting the original base hub as it is. Do you have any idea how to work? The main problem is that the hub gear is helical
I think g27 belt mode isn't necessary. Because, g27 is very silent and almost there isn't deadzone.
But, If you want more torque and speed, ofcourse you can try.
If I want to do that, I will try to print mainshaft with htd3 teeth.
What kind of mod is made on your g27.

I heard from someone, he puted second same type motor with same electronic. He said it worked.
@@MrCelali Yeah. Myself did a long ago. Basically replaced a fried G27 board with a DGFT board into G27 chassis. The DFGT board handled the 2 motors without problem (using a 31v 5amp PSU and heatsinks on the board mosfets). The speed and power gain was very noticiable, but the steer rotation was decreassed due to different gear ratios between G27 (1to16) and DFGT (1to13). For drifting was very nice, but to serious racing isn't ideal.

It depends where you are living. In my country, it is easy to reach belts, bolts, bearings. They are also cheap. You can be sure the cost is worth to what you get.
But for me ı spend too much time to found it. And, I spend too much money which is not issue for me. But I learned a lot of things. That was my goal 🙂

@@labombaromba when the wheel reach end of the right or left point, turn blocking sytem is making a noise like "clack". Only one time. Probobley you didn't notice it. Because, in Games we are not turning wheel all left or right. So, they are not nececery. But main upgrade for silrnce is belt drive system. It is smooth, seamless, and quiet after mod.
converting my g29 to belt driven, helical gears are just don't work if you double the torque with much better motors, i wanted to ask if you could make an adapter to straight line gears because i can't find a dfgt center shaft, and the idea came that i could make it like you did on your dfgt, if you could design an adapter from the g29 shaft to straight line gears like yours i would buy it to finish my project, thanks for the feedback!
Hi, these days I am to busy. But I think you can use a g25 mecanic parts. İt has straight teeths. Maybe you can find broken second hand g25. Almost everything is the same with g29. But made a search before buy. Because I have never seen inside of it except videos. And I should say after g27 helical gears is working very well and silent except when you are off the track. İf you are going to use stock motors it is pointles gı make belt mod for it. But if you want more torque with new motor, ı wish you good luck. It is not in my plans to do belt mod for g series. I am going to release of plans for dfgt on thingiverse in next week....

Firstly, I just want to say great work. I purchased this project and just finished building option 1 last weekend on a DFGT I own. This video was very helpful figuring it all out and you put a lot of amazing work into this, so thank you so much.
However, I noticed that my wheel rotation is reduced by half. The wheel calibrates fine and will go through the full 900 degrees on start up. When I change the wheel rotation in the settings to 900 degrees, for example, all of my programs, games and utilities will only allow me to rotate the wheel about 540ish degrees lock-to-lock. All inputs within that 900 degree rotation will be correlated to 540ish degrees, if that makes sense.
I noticed that the original pinion gear/pulley that attached to the motor shaft has 20 teeth, but your project has 12. I also noticed that the gear ratio has been increased slightly. Is this what's affecting it? Is there a way to fix this in software/using drivers?

Wait a sec, I think it just figured it out. I should do option 2 for that 20 gear pulley. I also threw in an upgraded motor, so maybe my torque won't be too bad.

Original ratio between wheel and motor was (130/20)x(85/20)=6,5x4,25=27,625
Encoder to wheel ratio was 130/10=13
13x60=780PPR was counting.
But option 1 gear ratio is 27,75
Encoder is attached to motor. So it is counting 27,75X60=1665PPR.
I didn't have issue that you had.

I set my wheel rotation in the Logitech Gaming Software settings and I was consistantly getting that halfed ratio in every game I tried (Assetto Corsa, Richard Burns Rally, Truck Sim).
I tried to build option 2, but I realized that I only have 210mm belts, not 216mm belts. I didn't notice it until after I had a lot of slack in the 363mm belt and rewatched your video. Unfortunately, I missed that belt, since it wasn't in the materials checklist at the beginning of the video :(
Any other tips? What option did you use for the tests at the beginning of the video?

thats nice i just traded my custom mechanical keyboard for logitech dfgt but it got som issues that buttons work and shifter and peadls but led doesnt ppower on and ffb is not working i changed adapter that didnt help now its at my local guy thats very good with small electronics he fixes tvs laptops pc motherboard (he knows what hes doing unlike me) i hope he can fix it

İt doesn't fit. An they don't have a secondary pulley. They have two motors.
I have g27. For me, Only problem is deadzone. I think, It is not necessary to make a belt mode for them.

How did you wire the fan?
The fan needs 5V. I connected the fan to DFGT usb cable. So When I plug the usb cable to pc or ps3, Fan starts to spin.
