What's up everyone...hope you enjoyed this video. There are a lot of ways to set up a bow and different levels of detail that shops might go through to make sure your bow is tuned. The guys at Wilde Arrow do a fantastic job for us. Thanks for the support...can't wait for archery season 2018!
Hushin Eric what length of stabilizer do you use?
Impressed with there attention to detail. Hard to find now a days.
Your camera focus makes it tough to watch this video though.
Hushin what broadheads do you guys use love the videos keep up the good work... Davymac.
Man I've been wanting to try one of the RX1's because I've shot Mathews my whole life. Just bought the Triax not to long ago but wondering if I made a mistake?
Every shop needs a guy like this. Takes time to tell you here is how we do this and why. Leaves no questions! Great tech vid! Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, it's too bad that not everyone gets that treatment at Wilde Arrow. I've bought two bows from them (one for me, one for my wife) and won't buy from them again. This is not how they treat new customers, this is the special treatment for the guys they know. There are other shops that are just as knowledgeable that don't reserve the VIP treatment for guys posting the build on UA-cam.
This is the best RX-1 tuning/set up video yet! I used that GENIUS observation about the best angle for the top cam and now have my RX-1 Ultra shooting even better than before. It was tuned pretty good before but using that info as a guideline really helped tweak it right. Wilde Arrow Archery really knows the're stuff!
Somehow found this in related or recommended and I'm glad I watched it. Super educational and detailed with simple, clear explanations...all without hiding any of the complexity and intricacies involved with bows! I never knew how complicated it all was and what should go into dialing it all in. Great work and much respect to the shop guy.
I’m not a hunter , but love all hunting videos but I didn’t realise how technical those bow where , it makes sense now , considering the size off the area off the kill shot ....great video again guys
The third axis explanation was great. This was a very helpful video. Thanks for sharing bro. By the way, great Oregon Bull!
Can't believe how far bow technology has come since I started 27 years ago. Crazy. I've always shot Hoyt and with this video I may have to go shopping. This was a good one guys.
Be ready to drop $2,000 when you do! haha I went into the pro shop with a grand cash and wound up putting another grand on my debit card... However I plan to shoot this RX1 for the next 15 years... My previous bow lasted that long so this should be able to as well (I hope). I should also mention the bow price-tag is between $1,400 and $1,600 depending on what your pro shop sells them for... But If your like me your gonna want a nice hard-case for it so your baby stays safe, Then your gonna want a $250-$400 sight. Maybe a new dozen arrows.... god it adds up!
Good job on the video, Brian. Those guys know their stuff. As far as bow gear goes, I like to keep it as simple as possible. The fewer moving parts, the better.
This is crazy helpful. I just got my first bow and the trigger advise is amazingly useful. Thankyou guys.
WOW. There’s some good knowledge to be received in this video. Much appreciated. I feel like I can tell when somebody knows their shit or when they try to BS me. I can now confim my local tech half assed my Kuma set up. This guy at wild arrow definitely knows how to tune bow. I almost wish I could just send him mine to re-tune it but I know it don’t work that way.
Definitely looking forward to more of these “tech” videos. I’ve got my custom Black Gold on the way and can’t wait shoot with it. Keep up the great work guys!
I shot for hoyt for 6 years ,man I miss those free bows . Good company they take care of there shooters and customers .
I learned sooo much watching this. I’m a novice and I needed to be schooled like this. When I say novice I mean it I didn’t even know how to tie a d loop until now. My accuracy was always a little off but after watching this and spending a few hundred bucks on equipment I’m gettin those arrows on the money now. (Only at about 40 yards but they are money nearly every time) I love this sport soo much. Thanx guys
good stuff man..best of luck with your new rocket ship...i worked in a pro shop for 20 yrs and one thing we always did when timing a bow was to always have the shooter shoot 3 arrows in paper as 1 could be from a torqued grip or a grip with too much pressure which will give sum bad tears in paper instead of a bullet hole..i myself when ever i got a new bow i always paper tuned mine with a back tension release..good video..
How I time my rest, I'll tie in at the string and loosen the string just enough at the rest and pull back the string, nice video tho very informative
I feel as if a certain big chain store, not naming names but the name of the company is also a man's name, could take some heed in this video. I went to said store with the mindset of buying a bow. Once the kid pulled the bow I was gonna buy off the rack, he took the cam locks off, drew it back, and released it. No arrow, no release. As soon as the bow went off, I just walked away. Luckily, I found a local shop that had the bow I was looking for, and they set it up completely like this. Great video and extremely informative! Can't wait to see your new bow in action this year!
Scheels is very nice they put a lock on all their bows so you can't draw back
I wouldn't buy my bow from a chain store. You might pay 50 extra bucks @ your local shop, but the service is invaluable. I recently bought a Mathews Triax and couldn't be happier with the bow or the service I received. #Bloodtraditions
That is some really good info, all in one video. Thanks for sharing!
An excellent vid with alot of valuable info on how the pros tweek the bow to dial it in !
I am big on bow hunting this year I have been recovering from back surgery and I haven’t pulled my bow out all year to stay fresh I have a Hoyt xt 2000 I opened my bow case the day before bow season and found that one of my cables broke while being stored very saddened cause last season I had the draw string replaced and tuned now I have to start all over again
I shot a total of 66 bows from every bow manufacture I could get my hands on over a 2 month period. The final 3 were the Hoyt RX-1, Prime Certergy and the Athens Archery Revelation-7. I end up buying the Hoyt RX-1 and Love it.
Great video I’m late to the game just picked up a RX-1 kuiu verde, excited abt it and the switch from Mathews to Hoyt for this year. You guys rock and wish you all the best for 2020
Great video, awesome break down. Good info, Please make more like this.
Mine is in and getting built.... can’t wait!
awsome work on Setting the bow up!
Excellent video, that men knows his stuff.
This guy knows what he is talking about, great video guys! Thanks for sharing!
He is very good!
That's a awesome video, great info shared!
That first shot was tuned good enough for me. Almost dead, solid, perfect.
This is WAY more detailed than what I do. I take an arrow with approximate spine, shoot it at ~40-60 yards (recurve) and if I consistently hit a 4 inch circle I'm good to go. :D
Muz Solutions I’m a recurve instinct shooter I only use recurve at about 60 yards and also hit a consistent 3.5 inch target , good comment bro
I think it's good to see both ends of the spectrum. Both work- find what works for you.
Would be cool to see a video of the hush crew or even BRO in there as well talking about their bow setups. Arrows, releases and what not.
I like the tight spot quiver. I think it the best yes just bought rx1 ultra its fantastic
Digging that old deviator on the wall. Still shoot mine from time to time.
Great video with a lot of good information! Thanks for sharing
Super nice bow and great set up info, thanks
Great information here. Thanks guys!
Love the hoyt. Wanna go back to a bow. Few years back had to go to xbow shoulder injury. I wanna get a hoyt. And might look at this one
Jeremiah is the best, i wouldnt let anyone else touch my bow but him and the guys at Wilde arrow!
Agreed!
Wow you wouldn't let me shoot it😭
Great video guys. Glad to see a shop be so thorough. Too bad they aren't all that good.
Somewhere In Wisconsin can you explain your comment? I am not sure what is not good
hohnsenhoff I was saying it's too bad all shops aren't as thorough as your shop is. It was a compliment! :)
hohnsenhoff I see now why you took it as me saying saying "they aren't all that good." As in they aren't good. I meant it as, "your shop was thorough, I wish all shops were like that.
Somewhere In Wisconsin now it makes sense thanks!!
Somewhere in Wisconsin you'll have to forgive Honhsenhoff , he smokes the devils cabbage.jk.
wish I had a shop like that to go to to get everything primo perfecto for good confidence.
Man must be nice to get new equipment every year. One day I'll be able to get me a Hoyt bow.
Thanks somuch for demostration this video
I say this in a nice friendly way at those nice yellow pretty arrows she sure go nice with your camouflage obvious
This bow shop is legit. When I’ve gone to bow shops to get help or advice, even when spending a lot of money, I get very little service. SLC isn’t too far from me.
Great video, very informative. What kind of First Lite jacket is that?
Awesome amount of knowledge!
That archery technician is amazing!
I think the original Wilde arrow was in Idaho falls.. Dee Wilde owned it. I bought my first bow from him at 11 years old.. Martin cheetah. Haha.. and took lessons from Dee for a few weeks. It's now an archery Idaho. Kinda cool.. wonder if your archery show is still the Wilde family?
Freaking Awesome! Waiting on my Rx1 👍🏾🏹
Theses guys are awesome. Very intelligent when it comes to tuning.
Really nice video I may buy one coming this year I have never hunting with bow before but I do hunting with crossbow so I may change my mind that year
Hey what is that trarget he has behind the paper tune
Awesome Video guys, thank you very much, very interesting and informative
Where did you get the custom vanes? I’ve been looking to have some done
Nice and Informative video. I have the same bow. Still working to get it fine tuned. I have the same rest as well (which is a QAD). Only thing I would say to do differently is to put an arrow in that bow she. Drawing back. Ya had me sketched out and unless you are using one of those triggerless safety releases, accidents happen especially when drawing and holding at a weird angle like you were. I know cuz I have blown mine up doing something similar! Glad you didn't blow it up and sweet looking bow. Now I wanna try that mbg pure sight!
I've used the same release,Fletch Hunter,since the early '80s
Got mine for christmas love it!
Cason Culver nice for Christmas I got a bear ultra light and I'm only 12 and can shoot 70 yards and still hit the target but not close to the bull so I think an super expensive bows aren't necessary for me mine was $675
Camden Lee I used to think the same, I had a 600 dollar mathews and could hit center from 60 but niw with a more expensive bow I can be more consistant and it is more forgiving with your mistakes since it is faster and not to mention its lighter since its carbon. But the bow you have is perfect for a 12 yeae old, keep practicing and by the end of the year you'll be killing it from 70
At my furthest pin my bow is only sighted for 60 yards, i've been wanted to get out to 70 and 80, do they have different sights to shoot further?
Very informative and great job!
Very informative and useful video, thanks for your time.
Also, I see you have 4 fletches on that paper tuned shaft. Would that get better arrow flight wit a fixed blade head?
Great video really like the bow and that bow shop is awesome is that all black hat for sale
Nice video is there any vibration in the hand after the shot like some people say. I'm going to buy one or the hyperforce for the hunt this year.
docshay1 I dont have any on mine, and thats without a stabilizer it is almosy more stable without it
the easiest way 2 do "that"( all such "testing/sensing" thing) is to put the device in the hands of a T1 terminator he--he....i personally opted for 7 diff coloured leds sticked right on the top of the main body using my periferal view to perceibe the colour of each one....u can say i've reached my own T1 most confortable sensor ( something likes that meaning my point was to get my brain in the habit about NOT 2 make an extra work thinking about wich combination of height/distance should i wait from the "shoot")...enjoyed too much the spin "checking/adjst" very nice vídeo thanks 4 sharing guys.
Awesome vid!
Very in-depth. Thanks gents
Bmac or to all hushin crew what's the lightest draw weight you would recommend for elk? I'm at 65lb at the moment and its easy but ive had shoulder surgery and its already aggravated and re injuring. Any advice would be awesome!
I just got into archery a month ago. Bought a cheap bow to hunt with and it lasted a month. So I bought a mathews tactic. Big upgrade I'm told. I still don't know anything, just how to make an arrow go into a block. I guess there's alot of tuning that is required to make your bow fine tuned to you and accurate it seems. You guys are based in where? I might make a trip to have this type of attention to detail applied into my Mathews
I believe your rest is a QAD and Hoyt puts their name on it. I know that Mathews does the same thing. Neither of them make that particular rest. Just the logo. Great video. Love the technical side of archery
Right
+Joseph Folsom Definitely agree.
He's correct ,BUT the flush plate behind it is where he may be core etc on how it fits the rest to the bow flush.
Had qad and personally didn’t like it. Had it out on and literally had them take it off after a few shots and install different rest. Honestly don’t see why so many people shoot it
Agree'd. Its definitely a QAD. I personally swapped mine out for a NockOn Elevate which is actually made by AAE. I like it as much as my Trophy Taker.. Cant decide which I like better though... The trophy taker has always been king to me...
That's some great customer service I would buy everything from this guy.
Nice bro keep it up.. Cheers from Cairo,Egypt
INSANE....
You guys get new bows like sox and underwear..
Just the time for a good tech to service the brand new bow???
INSANE!!!!!
Crazy how fast and smooth these bows shoot.
HUSH rocks
Absolutely priceless knowledge
Thank you
Great information. Thanks a bunch..
7.16 on the wall is a hoyt tenacity 1 or 2..I hve the tenacity 2 still and its a badass bow..
That bow looks amazing
INCREDIBLY INFORMATIVE.
The best video ever makes my local archery shop look like a circus just a bunch of clowns lol
@hushin where can I get those wraps and vanes?
I didnt know that those high tech bows exist, WOOOW i am so amazed!!!
Great video. Thanks!!
Love your videos Soo much
Looks sick!
Great video are you using broad head arrows?
Have a question the press he was using looks like a ez green press and he has the ula kits for the bow and I was told u had to use them for the new hours how come he was not using it and is it safe to use the standard arms for the new hoyts
Very informative, thanks :)
I don't know if you will understand me but I have shot a lot and have used my 4 pins to do my range finding. A deer in all 4 pins is 10 yards out 3 pins 20 to 30, 2 pins 40 to 50 yards out.
hmm never thought of that... Ill give that a shoot. good tip.
I would cherish a signature B-mac Rx1 like it was my child. Hoyt! Make it happen already!
I almost bought that bow in January of 18 but I bought the Bear Kuma ... I'm glad I made that choice ...
Same here. Went into buy that bow in jan 18 and bought the triax.
My first non hoyt bow after 25 years. But im very happy with my choice. So many nice bows these days.
B mack what kind of stabilizer do you use and whats the length
That will help me a bunch with my bow!!
how do you guys get a d loop to not flair up. is it a release problem or is it the material? because everytime i set up a new d loop it flairs up after about 40 shots
what is the best recurve bow for you guys?
nice shop
Are all these procedures the same for setting up a Mathews Triax?
I love the tech talk
Why do I watch bow videos before bed.i got to work in the morning and now I want to go tinker with my bow. Yesterday I reserved my center serving, so I had to retune. It bugged me that I did a sloppy job installing my peep and it was just off all season, I shot fine with it but the serving was getting loose on it anyway. I pressed my bow took out my peep, separated the Black and Tan strings and reinstalled my peep. It was just a little high and didn’t line up so I repressed my bow and moved my peep down a wee bit and took a twist out. I tied on a P loop and set my level. I use a limb driver so rest so that stayed fine. Now all I need to do is fine tune my peep, probably press it again and take two or three strands from each side and switch them. Then serve in the peep, and put my bow away for 6 more weeks till I can go outside and shoot without freezing to death.
Was wondering what stabilizer you were using?
Man I'm gonna drive to Utah just to get these guys to set my bow up. Wish I could get some skilled knowledgeable bow service around here. The morons in the only place I have here cant even cut 5 arrows to the same length lol
Oh shoot, that’s bad 😢
Where do you attach the coffee maker and ashtray?
I have way more money in my bow than any of my guns and I can’t even fit it in my gun safe with case and all one question for other bow hunters is when your store your bow is it a good idea to buy that portable bow compressor and store your bow with the pressure off of your strings and cables
Wouldn't really change much my friend he was just stating that all string stretch . if u custom order strings thru like strict9 or threads or so on alot of them are stretch them its inevitable bud
no need. Strongs only stretch when they are new.. they find a stopping point fairly quick and stay there.. Quality strings will be pre stretched.. This guy was putting on a show for the HUSH cam...
Where can i get the same Hush fletchings and wraps?
