There were times that I was tempted to buy a compound bow, and every time I step back from the ledge. I own every type of bows from Modern olympics to modern hunting recurved , traditional recurve, few modern longbows, custom recurves, and traditional asiatic bows. Watching these technical setup just makes my head spin. The thoughts having to tune the bow every hundred shots just give me headache. The compounds guys at my club carry tool bags with them and fiddle with it every couple shooting sessions. Great ways to fall out of love with archery.
Failed comprehension while surrounding yourself with morons is a terrible way to form an opinion.
Love these vids. I ordered my first bow a month ago. Since I’m new to the sport I went with a Hoyt Powermax. I gotta say you guys were one of the reasons I decided to get into this hobby. I’ve never shot a compound and haven’t shot any bow since high school. But watching these vids and hearing Casey talk about archery in the old vid of him taking Brailee to get her bow set up it sparked my interest. Then hearing Rogan talk about how meditative it can be I had to give it a go. Hoyt has to make my bow because I wanted it in black. Might be another month before I get it because of COVID and them being backed up but it’ll be worth it. I can’t wait to get to the range!
EC, man you look like you may be trying to really hide the shoulder pain. Hope you are able to get that looked at soon before it gets worse, would suck to lose the season to a bad shoulder.
I have watched every bow build... its what lead me to the channel. Been watching ever since! Love the videos! Stoked for this year!
yaaaa I started tuning my bow and accidently reviewed my knowledge by watching a video .......its been two months and 325 videos now.
All bull aside your going to be deadly accurate, your setup is awesome. Can’t wait to see you sight her in!
Hope so! This should be another solid hunting season.
Never in my life had I seen or heard of a bow tech suggest drawing a bow without and arrow on the bow. Wow
Your are a idiot! He didn’t tell him to draw it and shoot it!
Buckhorncamp I must have missed in my comment where I said he told him to shoot it.
@@OKIEOUTDOORS9044 Haha you're clueless.
Are you Gay?We know your a moron.
Great lookin’ bow Eric! Wilde Arrow is the best! Love these bow build videos with Jeremiah!
Thanks 👍and we couldn't agree more!
I’m shooting the RX4 ultra 31”DL and at 72lbs with a 496 grain and mine is also shooting 279 FPS with it loaded out. It’s a beast, I sink arrows as deep as the arrow markings at 90yds all while holding a really tight group. I shot the VXR and didn’t like the spongey back wall and it was only a hair faster bare bow and not near as quiet. Not sure what it would have shot fully loaded out. Let’s go drop some bulls!
I have an RX4 with Integrate rest. The rest timing was set up perfectly, but after several hundred arrows I started to get some intermittent fletching contact. I initially thought the rest was faulty and after some troubleshooting and some internet research, I can only assume the timing cord stretched slightly as it bedded in, as tightening it by 4mm (1/16) has solved the problem. The timing on a fast bow like this is absolutely critical.
I have seen that happen quite often and you did the correct thing by tightening the timing cord before doing anything else.
Need a bow shop like that in Southern California. I just ordered a Hoyt Carbon RX-4
I can’t wait to see all the bucks and bulls that bow is going to blow through the season! thanks for all the awesome information! Awesome video!
Great episode! So much info. Thanks for walking us through it. I didn’t realize all the things I’ve been doing wrong all these years and all the signs to look for.
Finally getting my RX-4 set up on Tuesday!!! Bow shops finally opening in NY!
Nice!! You're gonna love the new setup.
cant wait for an in depth sighting in video
These videos are great. I couldn't use the 3/16th either and had to go to the 1/4. Crazy that just a tiny difference will make. I really want to switch to a slider, but $ is running low. My shoulders aren't happy either. Got a slight tear in my right rotator cuff that I've been compensating for and both my shoulders, neck and back are paying for it.
Glad you like them! Heck wonder if that's whats wrong with my shoulder.
Strings the most important piece of the bow
When is martins build coming
I always love these videos!
Wondering how I can get the Hoyt shrink wrap for my arrow rest? The felt that comes with the QAD’s always wears rather quickly for me.
I won a new Hoyt from MTNOPS. I chose the RX4 Turbo, and can't wait to get it and set it up. I might be looking for suggestions on accessories.
Nice bow build, Jeremiah makes it look so easy!
Great video ! I only go to wild arrow for my stuff , and I learned a super easy way to set my third axis ! Thanks guys
Love this bow build videos. Next time I’m in Salt Lake I’m definitely going to Wilde Arrow to have them double check my VXR tune.
Eric this is all great information. I am not a bow hunter, but I did learn a lot. Would you think about doing a video like this for a crossbow?
Feel that pain, my left shoulder/collar bone area is sore as hell. Started in my left forearm and moved up. Getting older sucks.
Of all the videos pertaining to bows you guys never talk about arrows!!! Would be interesting to check out your setups for arrows! TAW, insert, heads, vane config. Do you change it up depending on species? Light arrows, heavy, broadheads...what are you fellas using?
I got an HOYT rx3 carbon storm riser REDWRX for $750USD is that good? came with a truehlow sight and whisker bisquick. Is that reasonable?
Awesome looking bow!! 🤙
Great video guys ! I been trying to decide on a new bow between a prime black 3 and a Hoyt rx4, first I’ll have to shoot both and ultimately choose the one that feels better but wanted to see if any of you have tried the prime bows ! Thanks
Man I need to get me one.
Where did you get the custom dipped bow? Looks like First Lite Fusion.
That was an awesome video!
Ready to chase late season blacktail in Washington yet? You got my number lets make it happen
Awesome I
I have been trying to find your video on your arrows. Don’t you have one on building your arrows?
Eric and I have had to do the same thing interesting
For real, the right handed lefty shooter struggles! How have I not noticed your shoot lefty? I’m in the same boat. I can’t shoot right handed at all.
Hey guys I am really thinking about getting that hoyt rx4 was thinking about the turbo what yous guys think?
how how off the riser is the center of the arrow? all the videos are the same nobody mentions how high they set the rest.
Awesome video, super informative. How heavy and long is your arrow.
How do y’all get such a wicked twist in the arrow vanes?
I can not find that Black gold site on their website? Did you customize it?
I tried and tried to figure out what rest was being installed in this video, but just couldn't figure it out. It would be GREAT if you actually SHOWED the equipment and SAID the make and model of the item being installed. I just bought a new RX-4 and need to get a rest, but I will need to look somewhere else. Ugh.
What weight arrow are you shooting in this video.
How much distance can the arrow reach, regardless of accuracy?
what broad-heads are you using this year AND WHY ? I myself am trying to find something different for elk and deer this year....
Try kudu points
@@oscarvallet510 I had some 1 year and they didn't fly true like a field point... i have a 2012 g5 hammer... a bit older I know but still love it
Are you going to get rid of your old bow I’m a lefty also and I’d like to have it
Lindo arco top . Vcs esporta para o Brasil ?
What do you guys think about the whisker biscuit rest?
Seen a handful of people shoot them, they can get the job done that's for sure. Never shot one myself
I shot one on my old bow. It was quiet, easy to mount an arrow and not worry about stabilizing it while stalking. So good for a beginner and a carefree style. But it will slow your speed and it can change arrow flight
What camo is that riser?
#hushlife
How heavy of a arrow are you all running?
Were can i buy the hoyt heat shrink!?
What quiver is that?
The intergragte rest is a Mathews tech. Eric when u gonna get a Mathews. There just so better. After all the accessories they weight the same!!!
Mathews vxr had a spongey backwall. And the rx4 had a lot less vibration transfer at a 31” draw. That can be totally different on different setups. But that’s just my opinion. I traded in a no cam for the rx4 so I skipped a few generations
@@RisingCreekCustomHomes when I shot them both I felt it completely different. The rx4 feels like a gun going off and the Mathews is dead as hell in the hand. Hmmmm
Hey Eric, what is your arrow length? I am a 27 inch draw and I cut my arrows 27 1/2
1/2" over draw length is ideal for most people when it comes to a hunting arrow.
Should have had a arrow in your bow. When you were checking your 3rd axis. If your release broke or went off. You would have dry fired your bow. If that shop is so good. They should have never done that.
Brah....the position of your elbow as you draw is high....that's the exact position a therapist will use to check for shoulder impingement . Either lower draw weight or figure another way to get that string back.
You have proper draw technique but this isn't possible with shoulder problems. You might want to try learning to draw elbow down then get into your normal shooting position.

Am I the only person bothered by people calling a qad rest a quad?
In USA you have to stop saying you going to build a bow when more precisely you never build this bow what you did is just installed d loop and arrow drop way and every time I click on a video bow build is the same is a Saturday you left your girlfriend or wife in a house then you sat in your truck and off you went to build a bow when actually none of you build this fricking bow hope you not gonna be upset is like for me I would say I’m going to build a house when actually I bought a house and now I just put furniture in it greetings fro UK
And how many average Joe's can afford a $1700 bow and don't forget the sight, rest, release, stabilizer and arrows.
A lot of people buy a new bow every year, just like vehicles. Not sure why that's of any importance though. Have a good one!
Someone always has to bring average Joe and his financials into the discussion...
Average Joe can’t afford a $1700 bow. That’s why he’s average!
