I keep a basement chest freezer and use the bottom of my frig for more current weekly items, frozen veggies, bread, and leftovers. The chest freezer has 5 bins (beef, pork, chicken, sausages, pizza) I can easily tell when I am low on any item just by checking the bins quickly. Once I know I am low, I start looking for that item to be on sale I always try to prepare more than one meal at a time. The 2nd meal is put into the dish it will be reheated in. I line the dish with plastic wrap. Freeze the meal and then remove from dish one frozen. When needed I just unwrap the meal and place in the selected dish. I also freeze flat as another said. I freeze soup, leftover pasta, gravy, rice, etc flat for easy storage in an upright position
When I’m doing a bunch of freezer meal cooking, which is an often, but I do occasionally when I have leftover meat and things, I will take a cookie sheet and try to freezings flat on it for that very reason! Then, there are times when I have just a little bit of something left over, and I put it in the freezer bag and stuff in there, lol. 😆
I read you comments in the hysterical USA Today article. You said you have a 90 day supply of food for your family. You call that being a "prepper"???? Lady, come back when you have a MINIMUM of a year's worth of food, water and medical supplies and you can call yourself a prepper. Until then, you've got a basic pantry.
THANK YOU for showing your freezer & shelves as they REALLY are and not all tidy up. 👍
Haha I problem. I’m nothing if not honest!

I try to freeze things flat, to help with the space, but my freezer is kinda a mess! 😂 I know what's in there though, just a mess.
