Canada has been unlivable for me, and after 15 years I'm leaving to the 3rd world for a simpler life. Once the honeymoon phase boils off, you'll see Canada for what it is... A place where it's impossible to dream of even the bare minimums in life - a house, a family / child (being too busy working and surviving), and long term leverage (being able to save). This is especially true if you fall in the category of someone who: 1) has no generational wealth; 2) single income household (unmarried); 3) no family / friends to split costs, support, and help when in need. At the end of the day all the infrastructure, cleanliness, etc, means nothing if you simply existing on this planet is costing you precious time, money, and sanity. I'd rather live in an under-developed place where my money takes me far, gives me leverage, and buys me time to simply live out my finite existence in peace, without the crushing financial strain leading to a culture of constant restlessness and hustling. Canada could've been great... But if rents going up 220% in 7 years under the liberals with a 20% year-on-year rise doesn't raise sirens in your head, you got blindfolds / earplugs on.
I think the title of this video would be better if the word 'Canada' was replaced with 'Toronto'. Growing up just outside Toronto but now living in Vancouver, I think it's important to note that there is much more to Canada than Toronto. Canada is the second largest country in the world and it is very diverse, in so many ways. So when people in the video talk about their experiences in Canada, I would consider it more their experience in Toronto. Housing is expensive in Canada but once you leave Southern Ontario and the province of Ontario, housing prices are much lower in other parts of the country. Like most countries, the big cities are expensive to live in. And while winter can be cold in many parts of Canada, summers can be very hot, especially in Toronto and Southern Ontario. My mom regularly texts me in June, July and August to tell that the temperature is in the mid 30's C but with the humidity, it is in the 40's C. I hope that Tayo gets to travel to other parts of Canada to see how incredible and different this country is. The west and east coasts of Canada are especially spectacular.
Wow that's interesting…. If you don’t mind, as someone living there, what’s your take on the permanent residency process? Is it still accessible for international students? I’ve been hearing a lot of negative feedback from different sources and would really appreciate an insider’s perspective.
This is quite on point. All the different Canadian provinces have their uniqueness, just like the states in America, and this dictates the migration pattern and general vibes as well. Overall, it will be good to have Tayo in other provinces as well.

Táyọ̀! This was an immersive experience. I feel really ashamed to say that I since I've been hearing of Niagara falls I've never bothered to check it's location, only to find out that it's just a 5 hour flight from where I stay, one of the perks of watching your videos. In terms of security and safety, if Toronto is that safe, then I must admit that Calgary is even safer because I hear stories from former Toronto dwellers that they feel more relaxed and at peace in Calgary than they were when they lived in Toronto. Here's to 1M subs! Before the year ends...na me first talk am!🎉
Empty houses, people sleeping in the middle of the road, Empty spaces, smiling faces nobody carried the load, You are made in His image, but who is doing damage, Will there be any leverage? If you allow Him to sleep outdoors, And you shared not a moment of his woes, You didn't know it was him that you treated so badly, You wouldn't believe and so so sadly, He never gonna let you in, He never gonna let you in.

I cant believe you were in my city and I didn't even know!! You were even close to my hood hahah. This video made me fall in love with Tdot again. It's so easy to get bogged down by expensive life hehe. I personally had to stop going to Niagara Falls coz too commercialised lol I know I know. It is because I have Mosi a Tunya which is more majestic and has been left untouched. You probably visited when it was drought season. They call it the smoke that thunders for a reason. Thank you for coming, having fun and experiencing the Canadian way of life (well a slice of it, because Canadian provinces are all very vastly different). Most importantly, thank you for giving me that feeling of pride again. It was gone because of this homelessness issue. Even if you yourself aren't unhoused, it's difficult to see people living that way and infrustructure going down. COVID tripled rents and food prices, pushing people out into the streets and new comers being caught up in this madness. Hopefully it will get better. PS it's still hot here. We are not wearing coats yet and it isn't below zero yet. Be blessed and continue to fly!!

Loving the format! Tayo is always both respectful and critical at the same time! It still makes me want to travel the world with this perspective on things you don’t see in mainstream media!
This video is about Toronto and not the rest of Canada. I live in Toronto. You covered only downtown Toronto. There are many different areas of Toronto. There is mid town, uptown, North Toronto and of course east and west. Each area is different. Because it is so multicultural here there are many different ethnic neighborhoods, for example Little Jamaica, Greektown etc. There is also the University of Toronto downtown which is beautiful. We have a huge park called High Park. We have the Harbourfront and Center Island tha you take a ferry to. It has a beach. We even have an area in the east of Toronto that is called the Beaches area. There is a restaurant in midtown in the Manulife building on the 52nd floor. You can see the panorama of Toronto while you eat or have drinks. It;s beautiful. Prices of homes and condos started rising around 2017. Before then the prices of homes were half or less of what they are now. There are a lot of homeless people here. Not only because of high rent but mainly because of mental illness. Before 2017ish Toronto was a totally different place. Less crime and homelessness. It has changed a lot. In the summer there are so many outdoor events. Many cultural ones.
Agree. When he mentioned parks, I’m surprised he didn’t go to High Park. He also only focused on downtown. Tbf, it’s his first time visiting and most of the people he met here are new to the country so he won’t be able to cover the city effectively. Nice video regardless.
For the past few years I only go to Toronto once/yr. But whenever I go I love it.Weather I'm sightseeing on my own or with a friend, I really enjoy it.😀 Just watching this video makes me 😏

As a Nigerian-Canadian, you make me so proud my brother. Your vlogs are refreshing. I love that you captured so much for our people to see for themselves, Canada no be moi moi. Everyone must try to make an honest living, if one will come here, you have to be ready to work and honest living and be content. Everyone is equal here. No “do you know who I am??” 😂😂😂. This place will humble you. I love Canada I no go lie. Tim Hortons for life 😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahahaha. Do you know who am l African mentality. Very sad Ada
A video i didnt want it to end.
Glad for the opportunity given to reside in this country
Me too! I’m feeling more blessed and privileged watching it from his lens
Well done, Tayo! 👏🏽 As someone living in downtown Toronto, I think this is a thorough coverage of our city life. It’s really nice to view these places I see regularly through the eyes of a tourist.😊 I wish I had known about your visit in real time; I would have requested to meet with you.
Good coverage but not thorough. No coverage of the vibrant Summer and Winter festivals (for obvious reasons), plus no mention of the sports scene which is a staple of Toronto culture (hockey, football, baseball, soccer, lacross, etc). However, good coverage!.
@@TyroneBlackman7 Hey, If you don’t mind, as someone living there, what’s your take on the permanent residency process? Is it still accessible for international students? I’ve been hearing a lot of negative feedback from different sources and would really appreciate an insider’s perspective.

Been in Canada for a few months now and I must say, it’s a huge change! The level is diversity is amazing and I can’t wait to explore as much as I can: the good, the bad and the ugly. Just gearing up for the cold now.
Edit: The cost of living is the biggest shock i’m experiencing now, insane!
Nice and very informative Tayo! ✊🏾
Until a drug addict chase you on a subway lol, you’re still in a honeymoon phase. I’m going back to Africa, Canada sucks.
diversified but not united

Your St. Kitt and Nevis passport is really a game changer, u can be anywhere u want to be and when u want to be.
Very powerful passport
It’s a good passport but his trip to Canada wasn’t visa free. Same to the US.
@@dt7961 all countries are not equal, so the visa refusal rate is quite low in most Caribbean countries, as these guys won’t over stay in foreign countries.
@@RB-zr5su Oh I agree. I’m just highlighting that for this particular trip, he still had to go through the visa process (unless he had a US visa).
This is especially true if you fall in the category of someone who:
1) has no generational wealth;
2) single income household (unmarried);
3) no family / friends to split costs, support, and help when in need.
Canada is a trap
We know that already 9.9m km in size. Next please
Bla bla bla bla gatekeeper.

This is quite on point. All the different Canadian provinces have their uniqueness, just like the states in America, and this dictates the migration pattern and general vibes as well. Overall, it will be good to have Tayo in other provinces as well.
Clickbait must clickbait
Your coverage of Canada 🇨🇦 is absolutely amazing, it’s truly a country of diversities and tolerance. I’ve been here for over a decade now and you brought places I’ve been to in my phone…….. Thank you 😊😅😂
I'm just literally astonished how I'm able to know different places in the world today just by watching ya channel ❤.
Tayo, you are doing great 👍🏼 and i will continue watching this channel till i JAPA my own 😂😂😂 to the world in reality.

Empty houses, people sleeping in the middle of the road,
Empty spaces, smiling faces nobody carried the load,
You are made in His image, but who is doing damage,
Will there be any leverage?
If you allow Him to sleep outdoors,
And you shared not a moment of his woes,
You didn't know it was him that you treated so badly,
You wouldn't believe and so so sadly,
He never gonna let you in,
He never gonna let you in.
Great job! There are so many places to visit but not enough time. Next time check out the Distillery District, Yorkville, Mimico, Liberty Village, King West, Queen West Concord Place, Beaches, Midtown, etc.
Thank You Very Much For Sharing, It’s Been Years Since I’ve Visited Toronto Canada, You’ve Brought Back A Lot of Memories 👍🇯🇲

Thank you for the experience that you showed about 🇨🇦 . Beautiful
Your filming and storytelling is exceptional. I feel proud as a Nigerian and I'm officially hooked to your videos 🎉
you are the first person i have seen who has actually tried going to Canada and its amazing
Fantastic video! Very well portrayed - I’ve lived in Toronto much of my life and I find your documentary quite accurate! It was amazing to see my city from the immigrant perspective.
Shoutout to your cameraman for some amazing footage!! 😀
Guys let’s get Tayo to 1m subs.. he is doing an incredible job.
I'm happy to be in Canada virtually. Most cost-effective trips on this channel 😊
Amazing video as always 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I like the idea of a multicultural city like Toronto. Everyone can live peacefully with less crime and racism. Navigating the taxes may be challenging but as far as the government is putting it to good use and there’s good infrastructure, it’s definitely worth it!
Thanks for the tour looks very nice
Always thought I would visit.
Love Niagara Falls, but from Canada....😲😳
So beautiful......🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Gloria here Tayo, from New Zealand! Thankyou so much for taking me on a most enjoyable trip to Toronto in Canada! I loved just tagging along with you as you experienced so many fascinating aspects of Toronto, not only the central city, buildings and people, but some of the foods as well, it was hugely educational, but in a fun and exhilarating and exciting way! Those dare devil rides so high up were fantastic, and seeing you walking over that glass in that once highest in the world building was scary as! Your travel films get better and better, they are of such high quality, and keep me fully engaged to the end. And I must say I learnt, thanks you, that Niagara and Niagara Falls are really near Toronto, and you showcased them beautifully. I hope the Canadian Travel Promotion government department sponsor you in future, to showcase so much more that Canada has to offer. I can't wait for the next film that you drop Tayo, you are the best in your field, honestly! 😇👌
Thank you for showing Canada to the world

I can’t imagine living in a city like Toronto, it seems like a fake environment. You need fresh air to be healthy
Great job Tayo, great detailed overview of Toronto and your video was well put together.

@@paulokeke8337 I'm really not the best to give advice on this but what I'll say is, regardless of the negatives out there it is still one of the best and easiest ways to get. Just that alot of changes are going on so one needs to make proper diligence on what and what to do so you don't waste your time and money and also the most important thing is good resource because alot of fake news are out there so always follow trusted sources

this is disgusting . we let pple into the country and have no affordable housing for them or the general population. the past decade ( due to politics) our country has slid into incompetence.
Not entirely true, it depends on where you live. Anyone who complains about living standards in canada is just ignorant. If you can't afford one part of the country go to the other parts. Small towns are always cheaper and quiet. People who are not greatful are always complaining.
