Hannah, could you please go in more detail on how to pick fabrics while shopping and how to keep things looking nice I'm considering starting to sew my own things because if I'm paying the cost might as well choose the material and design.... But choosing fabric is difficult even if the material and ratio of them is technically good - like cotton and wool. Helpppp please i am personalyy really really asking for a friend. Pleaaase. LoL

I don't understand why you dislike pink lips so much, that pink gloss/oil/whatever it was looked really lovely and made you look so fresh. Seeing the chocolate gloss immediately after almost seemed to wash you out. It was a bit better in your outtro because it had worn in a tiny bit, but I'm Team Pink on you, if we're choosing sides.

I have used that .5 Skye since the extra shades came out & I've never noticed a scent. They could've reformulated (?) but at most it smelled like sunscreen to me. If you want to see the serum foundation at its best, use a gripping primer with the orange eco tools sponge flat side & it becomes medium coverage in one application. I use cover fx gripping/firming, & spray my damp eco tools sponge with Coverfx dewy setting spray, & apply the skin tint on the back of my hand (to warm it up) then pat it onto my face. It's so close to my skin color that it's my go to when I'm running out the door. It also covers up acne really well if you use a sponge. I feel like brushes don't do it justice.
I would love to hear more of your thoughts on the Merit matte lipsticks. I know you talked a bit when they first came out and you had that sponsored video, but I am itching to know more. How does it compare to Velvet Fawn and Velvet Dragon?
They were super dry and irritating on me sadly :( they left a weird ring of color around my lips but wouldn’t stick to the center. Really odd. I adore LE’s velvets though.
WOOF!!! That Ilia soon tint 😵💫 I returned it because the smell is TREMENDOUS!! To me it smelled like sunscreen and like it had gone off or something. It was overpowering. I thought it had gone bad, but I wasn't about to try another one. I guess I have my answer now!

I got your book in the mail this week :) I did my MA at U of M Flint in literature-I believe you were at their other campus. For my degree I specialized in literary theory and criticism. For what it’s worth I think your book is fantastic so far.
I used the ilia super serum tint. As I age I prefer more sheer coverage, plus i have dry skin, so it was great for that. But I started feeling like i couldnt blend it in well and it cakes a a bit. I also HATED the bottle (leakage) amd the dropper (appluing drops directlh gave me too much product and i dont like having to put product in my palm to apply. I recently got the Merit stick foundation and so far, i love it! The application is so much better and it isnt as heavy as I thought it might be. Plus the coverage is better.
It’s a real shame that the Yensa foundation doesn’t have a paler neutral shade because it’s a holy grail for me when I need to color-correct my skin acne. Nothing works better with my skin!! That being said I still have to brighten some parts of my face afterwards so I understand why it didn’t work for you! The formula and the pigment are great so I feel like it’s so underrated in general! On another note, I’m enamored with this video title and your look overall 🥰

Okaaaay getting that Ilia milky thing as soon as I'm out of one of my similar things - great ingredients in that! AND/BUT! I've been using the very same Ilia Serum skin tint for a while, and I do quite like it! It's SOOOO "skin care" that I feel it works better when I don't go nuts with moisturizers first -- otherwise yeah, it stays very very dewy/shiny. I like the sheerness, as that makes it kinda foolproof smear-it-on-and-go, and I add more cover where needed with something more pigmented (Salt New York) or concealer (Surratt compact). To me the scent is "smelling your own breath after you chewed a stick of cinnamon gum" which is ... not ideal. But scent doesn't linger, product gives a lil coverage without looking crusty on dry areas (thanks so v much, perimenopause), and it does okay when set with powder or spray. It's not a life-changing ~Revelation~, so I may try the similar YSL or Ciele or Danessa Myricks next, but I'd def repurchase if other sheerish foundations don't work out! And yep, big fan of the Ilia multistick too, tho I like it better on cheeks than lips.
Your final comments about the weight of the world on your shoulders reminded me of a porcelain sponge holder that I used to own. It was a woman kneeling in front of a bathtub that she was scrubbing and on the bathtub it read “dearie is weary”. I dunno, but I’m happy that the makeup is cheering you 🙍♀️🛁🧽🫧💜 it cheered me too

The Ilia skin tint smells like left out playdough, which is why it’s off my Sephora loves list.
