Great video, and very informative. I've got the 208 GTI and have learned a lot from your videos. Just getting into modifying my car and was considering either the Airtec or Forge intercooler but that will definitely be my next mod now knowing about the high intake temps.
I had the 208 gti a few years ago. Awesome cars. My goal is to improve the performance without affecting the engine reliability. Better intercooler seems a no brainer since it improves both
@@rowanlewisuk Yeah that's exactly what I'm trying to achieve with my car. I want to keep the reliability (so no remapping) but get as much out of the car as possible. Just fitted a Cobra sport exhaust and its sounding a lot better
a thing to mention when going to these track days after each modification, is to monitor the weather in as much detail as possible or the other data will be irrelevant because it won't be a fair comparison, for example you make 5 more bhp because its 2 degrees colder than the day before ( before mod) or 3 seconds slower because you went around in the morning and there isn't enough rubber down on track. Information like that is important. All good saying this product helped, evidence.... Love the videos of the pug, love a Peugeot
Peugeot as a whole are massively underrated in my opinion but the BPS really is a weapon and you can pick them up for a good price. a few mods and you can be running 240/250 bhp
Great video Rowan. As you know i track mine and i cant fault it although i have a pug one off intercooler. (Ive not been monitoring it tho 🤷 not noticed a drop in power tho) and carbon Lorraine rc5+, pads motul 660 fluid. Its a monster on track. I was thinking about the Maxxecu 52mm obd Gauge. And hiding it in one of the vents? Message me the details of you castle combe day. Ill see if im free? Always happy to Cameo 🤣
I’m a going to suggest an intercooler first up with tires, I could see the heat soak through the video 😂, for more power I’d go for a down pipe and a stage 2 map. Along with that go with a high flow panel filter and gfb dv+, with an intake scoop.
@@rowanlewisuk that will be expensive, will need forged rods, and pistons to cope, plus clutch upgrade, and the new turbo haha, I wish I could do that, I could but it's not ethical
I think you've posted this on every 208 video on UA-cam, mate. Yours is clearly the pre-facelift model which was much less reliable. Anything from 2015 onwards with the THP 208 engine is much better.
@rorycocker8943 what are you on about the problems these cars suffer with has nothing to do with what model it is the same shit happens with either the euro 5 and 6 they are an absolute money pit both models are.
Great video! Thank you very much for the information and detailed video
Awesome video and great driving! Would love to drive that track.

Thats a good point. It does make a lot of difference. I wonder if an upgraded intercooler would translate to a time improvement

What is the little display you are using?

Thats pretty much the upgrade plans for now. Then stage 4 over winter 😁
