This guy is fantastic! Well educated and well informed. Clearly knows what he’s talking about and very honest about the car! Much appreciate that than the biased bullshit everywhere else.
Great in depth review been struggling to find any on the car, ordered my 208 gti by Peugeot Sport in Ice Silver last week and hopefully collect it in May. I was looking at an ST but wanted something unique, definitely a hidden gem.
Bloody fantastic review. So much so I'm off to see my boss tomorrow to get this on order as my company car. Was a toss up between waiting for the new fiesta ST pre order, Cooper SD or this....... GTi pips them on the back of this!
my sons just had a 66 plate peugeot sport gti and I love it , yes it likes a drink but nurse it about and it can be fairly good on fuel but that uptake in power so SO addictive
I've got a 208 GTi and I love it but two points to consider which have nothing to do with performance, but you need to think about if you are thinking about the GTI. 1 the red strip on the front of the car does not match the red on the rest (Peugeot label, inside dash etc) which is annoying when you walk towards it and secondly that glorious stainless steel gear knob is bloody cold in the morning. These may seem minor issues but spend £20000+ and then try and live with them. It's a great car but it drinks juice like an alkie on meths, oh and mine has a weird sucking noise from under the bonnet that Robins and Day in Glasgow still can't sort out, enjoy yours if it means anything my spaced out neighbour thinks it looks Boss from the rear
Very valid points thanks David, juice wise not an issue as it's covered my the company fuel card! (Other wise this would be a million miles away from my choice of car!!) As for the gear nob, hell I didn't even consider this...... might change it then ;-) What's the ride / handling like? As good as most reviews suggest?
you can get different colours. I've heard it adverages high 30s average I'm getting one next month and I do 400 miles per week. as good as an ST but different and may do the odd track day too

Great review mate really detailed information thanking
excellent in depth review, thank you sir!
Really interested to get one. Do you think it is too firm for a B road only machine?
Just test drive one and you will have a smile on your face
Not a lot about how it sounds while driving it is there?
