Oh you crack me up (sorry, I’m watching your flosstubes backwards 🤭🤪). Yes, stitched the Geese (proudly on green 14ct Aida !!!! - a rare find in rural Canada back in the days 😅), the Bears …there was a Brand, I can’t remember but they were the Rave 😎 and most Designs included a lot of backstitching too. Alma Lynn had them amazing Bunnies and I even bought plain colored jersey-dresses on Landsend for my then Toddler Daughter and embroidered Piggies, Frogs and Jeremyma Puddleduck on them (which I’ve all saved and still have 🤭 - my daughter is 28!) Great to be obsessed with Stitching 😇🤣

You are a joy to watch. Keep being yourself and enjoy it. I loved the sampler information. I could listen all day. I taught elementary school for 20 years. Blows my mind how these girls did this. I personally like the colors the girls used for the most part. I like keeping it original as possible. The Geese the bears the rabbits were everywhere. I remember. It is time for some Mrs. Smith pie while i watch floss tube. I love big samplers because I love details and a challenge. However, many of my students would choose a larger harder project to do and regret it, whining the whole time they had to finish it. Eyes can be bigger than the stomach so to speak.
    Happy Stitching!

Thank You for another great video. You are comfortable and at ease in front of a camera. It is as if you are talking to your best friend..and you are!! You are delightful.
About those charts from the 1980s and 1990s. We were all captivated by the style and laugh about it now. However, your “home” sampler is still applicable and appealing. It is easily described - trendy vs classic/timeless. The trick is to recognize the difference in the projects we choose to stitch now.😊.
I’m thinking that reproduction samplers will stand the test of time…..since they already have!

    Relaxed nature & genuine spirit…
    Great videos..
    Your re pieces are stunning.
Thanks for sharing info you got from Claudia… she’s an amazing encyclopedia on Bristol’s, as is GigiR.
I own one she stitched, Sarah Moon, on 60ct brown curtain linen!! Oh my.
Love GigiR she’s a good friend.
Anyway I digress… I’m always drawn to muted colors of reproduction pieces.. Euphemia will be stunning whatever you decide. I will say I do like the darker red, also I think the darker blue is lovely, your greens are spot on. And the very lightes soft ghost 😊color adds a charm, maybe a bit darker..
Look forward to your next share.
And oh boy the Advent calendar… yep I’ll have to possibly indulge.
    Blessings

I enjoyed your Flosstube once again. I am a monogamous stitcher for the most part. I have two small stitches for traveling and one large project that my mother-in-law can not finish due to her health. The count is larger than 28 and I need to clean up the back where stitches have pulled out. I need to get motivated to finish that one in early 2023. Smith

Absolutely loved this video especially the history on the Bristol chart samplers. The charts that you got from Claudia are beautiful! There truly isn’t enough hours in the day to stitch all the things. Sampler September, I focused on one sampler, Elizabeth Strickland and then on Thursdays I did red samplers, went between Ruth Gibbs on 56 count but Edna Nichol, both from Hands Across the Sea. The other stitch I did was one red thread before bed and did the free pattern Jemima from Red Barn and actually finished it. Close to a finish on Elizabeth as well. I actually surprised myself. That tree pattern is beautiful as well as the Smith pattern. Thank you for sharing everything, your projects are beautiful.

The Smith sampler is beautiful. I just bought Jane Hopkins, but I want to finish Fox and Rabbits Mary Morgan's first. I need some Murky but it seems to be sold out.

Grace, I so enjoy your flosstubes, thank you for making them! Your stitching is so inspirational, and you have such a lovely personality!

I am thoroughly enjoying your last two videos!. And this one is phenomenal also. I have never reproduced a sampler, so I have ideas of matching, but I don’t have anything to base it off of. Do ask the experts in the industry if you need some help. I stitched a free Bristol sampler last year from Meriem Chauvet and she’s a beautiful big girl. Smith

The Smith sampler is amazing. My mother-in-law’s maiden name was Smyth, that’s pretty close.

Hi! I was just watching Pam on Stitching Between The Lines. She showed a microphone that she uses. It makes a huge difference in the volume, she said she got it on Amazon, thought you might be interested. Episode 117 at 19 minutes in she shows it.
