In a world where most people cut corners and take the easy way, it is great to see a man do a job the right way. Much respect and salute to you good sir. Thank you for all the great videos you make.
Hey there, Just wanted to give you a HUGE thank you, I had a water leak coming from the throttle body on my car and after searching so many videos i was about to give up but thought I'd give your video go. Not only did you help me remove my throttle body but it turned out my throttle body was damaged. So after getting it repaired and cleaning it up it works perfectly now, and there's no more leaks, I also enjoyed your explanation as to why you prefer to remove the throttle body when cleaning it as that question did pop up in my mind while watching your video. So all and all ... THANK YOU ❤
Absolutely see the benefits of removing it before cleaning. I cleaned mine last time without removing it. Definitely going to remove the throttle body next time when I go to clean it again. Thank you for the great video!
Nice job. Well done! I sure am glad I saw this video - before - I clean the throttle body on my 2000 Echo, which I'm guessing has not been done in 20 years.
Love your site. Own 4 Toyota's & do most of the maintenance & repair on all my vehicle's. Just took the throttle body on my 2010 Scion XB with 2.4 L engine all the way off and cleaned it just like you show. When I'm putting it back on the small hose at the bottom of the throttle body below the electrical plug has no clamp. Do all the hose have clamps and it fell off when I pulled the throttle body off. Should of payed more attention. Thanks.
Great video, thanks for posting. Where is the dipstick tube when you do this? Mine is blocking me so I can’t get the throttle body out or access to unclip the 2 coolant lines.
Рік тому+1
you have the dipstick because your car is automatic transmision, the car on the video must be standard.
think I'll just leave mine in place and use old toothbrush or similar to clean while holding open throttle plate so I dont risk something breaking during removal due to age / heat. Even a rag wrapped on a stick could do nicely in there also or anything similar. Bit of inginuity to avoid possible bigger problems.
Thank you. There is not too much out there for the Echo, but as an owner I appreciate help oriented towards the echo. I recall that another Toyota shares an almost exact replica, or similar engine, but I don't remember which. Corolla? Yaris? If anyone knows, then share. I tried finding another ~1.5 L engine but could not find much.
I just got a 2018 Toyota Corolla ....I was wondering if you could tell me how to change the fluid for the cvt ? Or guide me on where I could look into.....thank u love your videos !
Thank you for the video. What are the torque specs for reinstalling the TB? and did you need to adjust the TB cable, or just put it back like you took it off?
I just did this today. took me the better half of 2 hours. I had to remove the air box assembly and battery to reach coolant lines. My impatience made me forget to crimp the coolant lines. Coolant everywhere. Place tubes facing upwards and crimp to avoid that. Now i have to add more coolant and bleed air out of system. But i took off both sensors and cleaned everything with crc throttle cleaner.
Echo idle rpm is 700 +-50 If it not running stable after the warm up it also can be a problem in the throttle... the iac is in there.... you should tell the people about that and that is also a problem....
Amazing video. I have a question, Do you need to add coolant and bleed the system? (I thought you lost some coolant there and air is introduced to the system)
I just did the job. It went quite smooth. I did notice a problem though. I had to remove the airbox and found that the bottom of it was ripped. I duck-taped the crack nicely, and placed the box back. Would it cause any problem in the future? The box image is at the link below. imgur.com/a/sncxVSa
Same here - my Echo has a transmission dipstick in the way of the third screw.pretty hard to get a wrench in there without having to remove the ATF dipstick. Looks like the model that Peter was working on didnt have that, or he moved/removed it before starting the video.
TaTa Butter Bubu don’t worry go ahead, there is gasket it is like plastic rubber which doesn’t glue with anything. I have open throttle body and there is no issue .
I have 06 corolla with electronic throttle body i removed to clean it and the butterfly was not spining i cleaned anyways and putted back with the plugs and everything else and a check engine came out and also my car stumbles and idle up and down i did this couse my car has 2k rpm in cold start but now is worst
I have a 2001 Toyota echo. Everytime I go to turn on the car it shuts off. Check engine light on because throttle body sensor. How do I make this into a cheap fix?????

I have a 2000 Toyota echo. This really helps me out. Great video sir.
glad to hear that
Did you remove the throttle body like in the video? If so did you happen to have the 2 coolant hoses on your throttle body?
Thanks
What a nice guy. I love his voice and positive, calm manner. Thumb up from me. Best wishes!
Thanks for you help my friend, I have Echo 2004 with 163,000 miles....
This was such a blessing to watch... thank you for your time.
God bless you.
I just did that to my 4runner. Seafoam and plastic brush work great, just like new.
Nice job. Well done! I sure am glad I saw this video - before - I clean the throttle body on my 2000 Echo, which I'm guessing has not been done in 20 years.

ANOTHER EXCELLENT SERVICE PROCEDURE....THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!
you are welcome
Great video. How much do you charge to properly clean the throttle body?
Great video, thank you! Will this restore engine power at speed as well? My 2001 Echo doesn't climb hills (highway speed) like she used!
Thank you for posting! Thats just what I needed!
Thank you so much for sharing, helps me a lot with my car service. God bless
How did you get the dip stick holder out of the way to remove one of the bolts?
Thanks for sharing your video great job explaining things.

I just got a 2018 Toyota Corolla ....I was wondering if you could tell me how to change the fluid for the cvt ? Or guide me on where I could look into.....thank u love your videos !
I can't....I never worked on such new model
Great video man! You should do more videos with toyotas!
more videos with Toyotas ?
Will the gasket attaching throttle body to intake manifold break while removing?
Better hope not because nobody sells them
Nice video 👍 Sir.
Thank you for the video. What are the torque specs for reinstalling the TB?
and did you need to adjust the TB cable, or just put it back like you took it off?
So I took my throttle body out like u explained and weirdly I didn’t have those 2 coolant hoses connected to the throttle body? Is this normal?
I just did this today. took me the better half of 2 hours. I had to remove the air box assembly and battery to reach coolant lines. My impatience made me forget to crimp the coolant lines. Coolant everywhere. Place tubes facing upwards and crimp to avoid that. Now i have to add more coolant and bleed air out of system. good job
Overall very helpful! Your hand was in the way a lot with removing the throttle body but really appreciate you making this video
Can u make a video about the vapor leak on Toyota echo
I alwasy thought u did ur videos from Russia. I didnt know u were in america. Where is your shop located?
Can i do that same thing to a toyota corolla 2008?
Echo idle rpm is 700 +-50 If it not running stable after the warm up it also can be a problem in the throttle... the iac is in there.... you should tell the people about that and that is also a problem....
Please I have a question
How much engine temperature in Eco have I have 95 so much
Amazing video. I have a question, Do you need to add coolant and bleed the system? (I thought you lost some coolant there and air is introduced to the system)
no need, lost few drops, no problem

What about the gasket? I have the same engine, 1NZ-FE
You ever find a gasket?
Did you ever find a gasket
How do I get the dipstick out of the way for the third bolt? I can’t reach the bolt all the way down holding the stick
Hey Andrew did you find a way cause I'm in the same boat
Same here - my Echo has a transmission dipstick in the way of the third screw.pretty hard to get a wrench in there without having to remove the ATF dipstick. Looks like the model that Peter was working on didnt have that, or he moved/removed it before starting the video.
there is not gasket on Toyota throttle body??
wondered same thing, couldn't quite make it out. Wouldn't want to risk creating vacuum leak or other problems.
TaTa Butter Bubu don’t worry go ahead, there is gasket it is like plastic rubber which doesn’t glue with anything.
I have open throttle body and there is no issue .
Does the 2000 Toyota Echo have an in-line, replaceable fuel filter? If so, where is it located?
Not it doesn’t. It has an in tank filter. Next to the in tank pump. And an in tank screen
IAC wasn't even removed and cleaned? I did now I don't think it's right.
Thanks.
what the symptom?
👍👍👍👍
لم تنظف مدخل الهواء الثانويي
What are the symptoms of needing to do this? (Other than time?)
Rough, uneven idle. IAC valve code
I have 06 corolla with electronic throttle body i removed to clean it and the butterfly was not spining i cleaned anyways and putted back with the plugs and everything else and a check engine came out and also my car stumbles and idle up and down i did this couse my car has 2k rpm in cold start but now is worst
Did you try relearning the throttle body? Did you also clean the maf sensor?
I have a 2001 Toyota echo. Everytime I go to turn on the car it shuts off. Check engine light on because throttle body sensor. How do I make this into a cheap fix?????
