The city states have American names because you presumably played with True Start Location turned on. That means that with the Barbarian Clans game mode, all city states that spawn after the progress bar fills up will be non-TSL city states. This results in the city having an American name (normal civs also start to default to American city names after settling a large amount of cities because they ran out of native names). Additionally, the 'city state' is broken. You cannot send envoys and the city state provides no bonuses. They essentially just take up land and give nothing in return. To prevent this, you should turn off Barbarian Clans mode. This prevents new city states from spawning. The gamemode really does not change how strong barbarians are. They remain easy to beat, except for the dumb AI.
@@Chewbert I think it's because you disabled city states, and nothing to do with the TSL - since city-states could not spawn, the game created its own. They have American names because America is the first civilization in alphabetical order and is also not on the map. Barbarian clans are fine and make the game more interesting, but do require for City-States to be enabled. I have some advice however relating to mods for this kind of game: - Use Real Strategy and not AI+. AI+ does not work at all. Also, a new mod by Roman Holiday apparently works, but I haven't noticed many changes in my current game with it enabled. - Customization VI is great for setting up games: you can disable Giant Death Robots (to make late-game warfare more interesting), tweak World Congress, settling distance, and basically anything you can think of. Very fun (and useful) to use.
Okay I have some inputs. I think you're going to the late stage too fast and the fun of this AI games is watching what Civs do on each age and the small skirmishes they have ❤
Brazilian fan here Do you think at some point you could do a "If Brazil existed in 1444"? Since there's a few of the US doing that, so I think it would be pretty cool Love your work, wish you have a great day
Maybe try these types of video's with smaller maps? It always feels like the civs never really expand beyon their own startign location even at the end.
wrong, Macedonia was a different culture from that of the southern Greeks so much so that the Greek cities in the south had xenophobia towards Macedonia and called them barbarians.
What’s your favorite Civ on the map?
Rome
philippines >:D heh
Air
Free land
Albania 🇦🇱
You probably can guess mine....
it's surreal to listen to an eu4 player address civ 6 things with eu4 terms.
Lmao goopy EU4 gamer brain

I literally turned it on based on comment feedback
That's because of a mod called "The British" and it just thinks that all american cities are founded by uncultured barbarians@@Chewbert

@@U.Hansen They founded the Eastern American cities; so why would they consider themselves barbarians?

moving Phoenicia crippled Rome in favor of Babylon imo

Really?
Thank you so much ♥️
good video, I hope you get more views to be encouraged to keep doing civs content! good luck
I hope so too! Thank you! :)

RIP Gaul, we hardly knew you.
Let’s get that mega campaign bag fam! I’m so excited
Dutch civ lost and retaken Rotterdam from German civ historically accurate AI
gauls should just be in Anatolia to represent the Galatian kingdom since there is a France ingame
Don't worry I subscribed
Are alliances activated? Because that’s probably the biggest reason why the game becomes static in the late game.
Fascinating
Civ video!
Chewbert, how many times do I have to tell you not to underestimate the Dutch?
Try “Cogitator XL earth map “
kind of surprised there's no Switzerland in civ 6.
Name one iconic ruler of Switzerland you know of 👀
Well this was well timed, wasn't it? lol
I may be just blind but was there a gaulic city just chilling in africa by itself in the bottom left corner of the map?
Free city from barbs I believe
3:25 POLSKA GURMO
Alexander the great was Greek... Modern day NORTH macedonia has no connection to the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia

Womp womp
Wow windmills everywhere. What a woke game
