Random Thought:
Can't really describe how cool it was to see the eclipse's longest possible duration from the path of totality yesterday!! I'm in southern Illinois and Carbondale, IL (near me) was getting tons of media coverage- maybe you saw it on TV! SIU's football stadium had a packed crowd & sadly a cloud kind of hindered their view for all but the tail end of the eclipse! But it was in full view at our house. My snapchat/instagram story didn't really do it justice. It was one thing to watch the actual eclipse happen in the sky... and another to witness the downright spooky lighting that fell over the landscape before/during/after totality. Unlike anything I've ever seen... just breathtaking.
I feel the balm is underrated...i love them so much.

I just wish that they would make a Face Palette with Down Boy, Frat Boy, Cabana Boy, Bahama Mama, Hot Mama, Sexy Mama, Balm Desert, Balm Beach, Balm Springs, Mary Lou Manizer, Betty Lou Manizer and Cindy Lou Manizer!! It would be the ULTIMATE FACE PALETTE that anyone would ever need!! It would include 12 Beautiful powders that would have a setting powder, contour, bronzer, highlighter and a variety of blushes!! Oh how I wish!!

Same. Although this looks like a nice palette, and I like the Balm, I'm pretty sure that Ipsy has already sent me most of these shades individually in my Ipsy bag before I upgraded to Plus. For that reason, I kind of wish we were getting a different palette. (Or I'd even be happy with just a full size Mary Lou Manizer.)

My favorite part of The Balm is that even though they are a high end brand, they are less expensive than a lot of the other high end brands. I wish more people talked about them!

Jennifer Pursley I agree. I think people forget that Ipsy has SAMPLE sizes usually, not full-sizes though they occasionally do. The regular The Balm sizes are pretty generous
Jennifer Pursley I've never hit pan on any of those samples from Itsy, I think they're a lot bigger than they look. My mom's been using a Bahama Mama one for over a year.

Your makeup is on point today! It always is but something looks different today. Also I was totally nerding out over the eclipse yesterday! We only had 82% of it and it was cloudy but we were still able to take it in. Just amazing!!!

Emily! You're the one that turned me onto theBalm products years ago. I remember finding a whole set at Marshall's (!!!) and being so excited. I kid you not it was probably... $25 for Bahama Mama, Hot Mama, TimeBalm and The Cheater mascara. No joke, love alll of them and still have the bronzer and blush in my collection (I can't do away with them!)

Seeing your enthusiasm for this is definitely going to make me look into the palette. Regarding the eclipse, I too was super excited and enjoyed the whole phenomena. We were vacationing in Oregon last week and was so tempted to stay until yesterday. My kids started school yesterday and thus had to return.

I've just recently bought the vol. 1 palette & the eye-shadow has the best staying power of any shadow I have ever tried! No creasing on my very oily eyelids. Absolutely amazing!

The volume 1 is one of my favourite palettes!!! I use Bahama Mama as a crease color all the time. Can't wait to get my hands on volume 2. Thank you for the amazing review Emily!!
I LOVE The Balm. It's the only brand I collect as many products as possible from. But this... this pallet is my all time FAVORITE. When I'm in a rush I grab this one pallet and have everything I need. The perfect cool toned bronzer. The perfect highlight. The perfect browns for brows if nessecary although I usually use a gel. The perfect neutrals for a super quick crease darkening. And my favorite 2 blushes, one pinky and one a little less so. This is by far THE travel with pallet for me. I wish the packaging were a little more sturdy but it doesnt take away from how much I use this. Its my most loved pallet by far and I have tons of makeup. It's just made for me, my skintone and how I prefer to do my makeup. I cannot say enough good about this. Not only did I hit pan on everything, but I bought a 2nd of this recently. That's RARE for me. I dont wear makeup often, and when I do, 9 times out of 10 it's a low key look. This is perfect for that. Their shadows do not contain talc which is why they perform so well, at least for me. I love how easy this pallet makes it to pull together a simple but gorgeous look. Or if you have some single shadows for a pop of color you could do the rest with this, easily. My close 2nd is the autobalm day2nite pallet with the black primer. Just a great pallet that doubles my shadow collection, performs perfectly for me, has cute packaging, and the colors feel made for me. I think this is a hugely underrated brand. Maybe I'm just their target audience but I love their stuff, it's what got me to love and be much more passionate about makeup.

I always appreciate how The Balm keeps the same consistent quality in these best of palettes and in their samples! I received a sample of their Frat Boy blush two years ago. It's teeny and I've used the heck out of it, but it's still going strong! Easily my favorite blush of all time, as it's the only one where I've hit pan. I've told myself I'll buy the full size when my sample runs out, but that tiny little sample really has longevity!
Had to add that my favorite thing to do with Frat Boy on my quick makeup days is blend it into the parts of my face where I place bronzer, dust it on the bridge of the nose and chin, and then blend it in the crease of my eyes along with my bronzer to look flushed and awake. It's perfect for this effect!

I am SO in love with each one of those shadows but could never afford, nor did I really need THAT many palettes for the few colors that I am in LOVE with! This palette is SO great I went to try to order it and it is OUT of STOCK at Balm, and I check Kohls online and it was not even listed. BOO! Guess I will have to wait till it comes back! It is EXACTLY the colors I LOVE, those sand, nude rose and that ALICE COPPER!! is the BEST color in the Bon Jovi Palette, but I didn't really like some of the other colors in that one. So I will wait for the Vol. 2 to come back. It is PERFECT! LOVE your make up today and that lip color looks beautiful!
