Last but not least I want to give HUGE SHOUTOUT to the entire CSI Starbase team on discord. This dedicated team of 100+ agents with specialties ranging all across the board, has been crucial in getting the most accurate info for these episodes. Couldn't do it without yal! - Наука та технологія
Oh man! After 2+ years of following Starship developments (it helped keep me sane during the early UK pandemic lockdowns) I thought that I'd found all of the SpaceX/Starship channels worth following but today I find that this one had escaped my notice until now. I see that it's only been 5 months since you started posting videos so I don't feel quite so bad but even so, this is such fabulous content that I think it is now vying for my favourite channel or informed commentary on the stuff I find interesting. I agree with other commenters - you deserve many, many more subs. I'm now subscribed so at least I've done my bit to try and make that happen.
The level of detail and insight in this video is incredible! Made the decision to subscribe a no brainer, Great job!
I consider myself lucky and blessed to have found this channel. Thank you!
Wow. That means a lot. Thank you!
This is the first time that the algorithm sent you my way. I am impressed with the detail and quality of your analysis and focus on some things that are not covered elsewhere. Your writing style is also a nice addition to the commentary mix. Liked and Subscribed.
Thumbs Up and a Sub. Finally, someone with Value Add to SpaceX news instead of monitizing free videos from others and not saying a word. Well done!
@CSI Starbase , arrest this person , they stole my comment.
I'm 5 minutes into this video that just popped up on my feed, and I've subscribed. Excellent detail and shots and commentary.. You just don't get all this in the other spaceX info channels done so well.
Keep up the great work!!
Love the creative “Jetson’s” into. Your level of detail in photos and matching commentary is orders of magnitude better than and other site! New subscriber!
This is a great potted history of a long running saga with the water tanks. Thanks. It also explains the inner turmoil we could hear in your voice during the RGV livestreams every time we went near those pipes!
As well as being super informative it was also quite a nice trip down memory lane seeing all those old images of the development of the tank farm. I remember finding the orbital tank farm one of the most entertaining things to watch progressing but now that it's fully built (tank re-purposing and other upgrades not withstanding) I sort of take it for granted. It was so jarring to see that shot from "way back in January 2021" when there was pretty much nothing there except for a patch of concrete and compare that with what is there now.
This is amazing, you should have way more subs than the main SpaceX news channels
💯 Best Starbase Deep Dive Commentator
Nah just a sh!t opening I am down voting because of it .
Wtf why lol
I totally agree. This is underrated.
@@dillonbledsoe7680 Referable, reviewable, engineering by someone with a keen eye for it. Far more relatable to general human reality than that flight and fall stuff.
I've been following many space-nerd channels for awhile, but this is the first time UA-cam "served me" yours. As a frequent RGV flyover viewer, I was surprised that you had your own channel! Anyhoo, that's a long way to say: Great content! Subscribed!
Same here.. subbed
I've been waiting for this video lol I've watched all you posted to date keep them coming bro
I have had my own set of channels related to SpaceX and other space related Items and religiously stuck to them as there are so many channels out there. I watched your channel today for the first time and boy was I blown away. The amount of detail and content is outstanding. Whilst I am not going to ditch the other channels at this time, I am sure going to check in on your channel and have subscribed today. This is more like it, thank you for the amount of hard work you and others must have put in to provide this much detail. As a retired marine engineer, I am interested in all things metal. Your water tank theories I followed along with your thinking and for sure thought additional structure would be fitted to the now debunked water tanks. I spent a lot of my time on gas tankers LNG and LPG along with chemical gas tankers. The cryogenic side of the infrastructure also interest me to no end. Thank you for a most interesting video.
I've been following activity at Starbase since day one and thought I knew quite a bit about it. But, your video showed up in my feed today and wow!! You do a REMARKABLE. job breaking down details I've never heard anywhere else. Pretty amazing. Very well done sir!!!!
Concur
Yup, this is top-notch commentary that is very much appreciated. More, please! Subbed.
Agreed.
Thank you! This episode was amazing! You are the only person to explain all the water vacuum tanks, and then the water transport tanks that have been arriving at the OTF every day. It was so puzzling that I never even commented on them, and you know I comment a LOT on the nsf live streams.
Your welcome! I’m glad I was able to help. Not going to lie when I saw those tankers going back and forth so often it was initially causing me to think the tank farm was sinking into the water table.
I still believe that to some degree. Just not as severe as I first thought.
haha now you know!
Excellent video. Your format is so interesting to follow, the information and notes are so well thought out and the humour is great especially the start! Keep up the good work.
Great to come across your channel, love it!
Great style and pace. I really appreciate the time and effort you are putting in. Amazing quality vide and very entertaining. Thanks bud.
I'm totally blown away by this video.
Everything has had a lot of effort and detail put into it.
The intro sequence has been thought out and well acted.
The room you present from has been well designed and even the TV has another SpaceX UA-camr on it, how cool was that.
The detailed information you provide was so interesting and the best on UA-cam.
Letting us know about your mechanical engineering background was also very useful and last but not least is your great sense of humour.
Keep up the great work I'm already subscribed and now I've hit the notification button.
Hey, it's makes us very happy it hits the mark for you. We do put a lot of effort in to them so please be patience for future videos, we both have full time jobs too so we aren't as prolific as other full time UA-camrs. Make sure to checkout the previous episodes in the meantime :)
Great video as always! There’s so much work that goes into these videos, you really deserve a lot more attention. Keep it up!
OH MY GOSH! I just discovered you. What a refreshing addition to the already fantastic cadre of SpaceX vloggers! You rock!
High quality content with actual information. This is sorely needed. Bravo.
I love these so much. Your knowledge is so helpful to understand what is going on and what might come in the future
Great informative show
I appreciate your eloquence and knowledge. I really like the depth that you go into with your narration. I subscribed just now and will be a regular visitor. Great work !!
Nice format and breakdown. The water works was a brilliant investigation and for your engineering failure from afar skills you earned my subscription. Seriously this was the first video of yours that I have seen and it was great fun to watch and as informative as it could possibly be. Nice work dude very nice work.
Great Content. I'm a huge fan of your work! Would be great to get weekly episodes. :)
About the short chopsticks at the Florida Starship Tower. I guess they will only use these chopsticks for stacking, not for a landing. I think they will do landing atempts only at boca chica until they got it right and than upgrade the florida chopsticks to a longer version. The risk of failiure at pad39a should supposted to be zero, because of much more people living in that area, compared to the boca chica area.
Most underrated starbase spotter channel. I love the information density and the level of detail of this video! Earned my subscription
I always look forward to these videos, they are so well made. Keep up the good work👏
you are basically the only youtuber out there who can grab my attention for more than 15 minutes, and that's a really really hard task 😀
thank you for this amazing content (as always)
Thanks for the mention boss! Great work team! We find stuff out, right? Ok...back to tanker watching! ;)
Best channel on UA-cam about anything spaceX !!!! You are awesome !!!
They might actually have decreased the margin of error because they WANT a smaller margin of error. Imagine an engine failure at the very last second. You might not be able to catch the ship, but you want to minimize the damage to the structure. Shorter arms might be easier to get out of harm's way.
Shorter arms may be able to open and close faster due to less mass.
@@flewdefur also lift faster
Great in-depth coverage. I love the length and all the pictures and videos but the commentary is fantastic! Liked and subscribed.
Just found you courtesy of Reddit - wow, great content - a lot more insightful than some of the other channels. Thanks - subbed!
I wonder what reasons the person who designed the tank farm initially had to design it the way they did.
Great deep dive. Really worth dropping by!
The first thing I said when I saw the actual tank install was 'well, that looks flimsy' glad to know they fixed it before millions of tons of water flattened everything on the launch site.
Damn man awesome content, stick with it and the people will come
damn i thought this was some startbase clickbait channel i'd have to block but now im subbed. very good video.
Wow. That was a really great video. Massive amounts of knowledge. I've been watching NASA Spaceflight's daily videos for over a year, but this level of detail and explanation added to what we see is just great. Thanks.
OMG dude how have I never heard of your channel. Wow!!! Content is great. Please keep it up. I appreciate your technicality.
Thank you for your very knowledgeable examination of Starbase operations. Great channel.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it
You earned a new sub with this video. Never heard of you before, but the quality of journalism you did for that water tank was next level!
Ridiculous that you don't have much more subscribers. I follow dozens of spacex channels and this one is by far the best.
I just stumble to your channel and learn something new today, thank you. You deserve more sub, sharing right away. Keep it up.
Quality content! And a welcome change from the standard update videos of comparable channels. Earned a fan!
Another great episode my friend. I continue to be impressed with your insightful speculations, it helps me understand what all of those weird bits and pieces of things I'm seeing in RGV flyovers, Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next episode.
NEVER STOP MAKING THESE PLEASE
Your technical knowledge and narration are excellent, I will continue watch your amazing programs, thank you ! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅
Just learning about your channel and I like your format and content! Great work and keep it up!
@ 10:04 On F-4 aircraft, the wingtips can fold up and secured with a "(remove before flight)" safety lock. When they are lowered, hydraulic actuated hinge pins slide into the wing lugs to lock the wingtips for flight...
These "wings" can be raised with hydraulic actuators and hydraulic hinge pins can slide into the lugs to secure the platforms in the up or working position....all controlled by a little toggle switch or two, and electric hydraulic pumps @ 3,000 psi...or more.. Then they can be lowered by gravity...
How did I not know this great channel existed before today!
This is the best starbase update I’ve ever seen, subbed and notifications on
great stuff, as always. Thanks for deep dives
Thanks you, awesome video and channel! I love hearing about the details, at the level of detail you go to.
New to the channel and I'm not even half way through the video but so far it has been awesome! I subscribed! Great work
I've just found you and I can't believe i've not seen your videos before now, i've been watching Starbase since day one! I've subbed and it wasn't a hard choice, nice show by the way!
lmao Marcus House on the TV. I love the production design of these videos and all the little touches. Keep up the great work!
Nice stuff! Thanks for the detailed peeks.
Your eye for detail and understanding is very exciting.
I see your tweets all the time but never considered checking out your vids. These are awesome! Keep up the good work
The effort you put into these videos is amazing! Keep up the awesome work!
Great thanks for this episode! Loved the Marcus House bit!! See you next time!
Such a fanstastic deep dive into the past, current and furitre operations of SpaceXs Boca-Chica site! Thank you so much for the work put into this! Def look forward to the next video!
I appreciate greatly the research and work you put in to make such a great episode. Thank you!
This is the first video of yours I've seen. Holy Fuck it's Amazing!
Excellent video!
I subscribed not even 5 minutes into the video. Look forward to more content from you!
This is clever stuff... this makes some of the other Channels feel like child's play... the depth of information is crazy... keep up the great work.. this provides great insight into the complexities of the work being undertaken at Starbase...
This dude and the water tank: "I can't quit you!" Great video, instant sub.
Great content and production. I learned so much. Thank you.
Really like your deep dive videos. Keep up the good work!
You have a great thing going here. One of the more informative and entertaining channels giving us updates on rocket daddy's progress. Subbed.
Wow keep it coming, so informative, thanks for your hard work
Amazing content! Well done! Suggestion: This video could have been broken up into 3 separate videos (one on the mega bay, one on the launch mount and one on the tank farm). And you could have released those videos separately every few days. Just a suggestion.
Yeah, we thought of that, but we want to provide solid content and not fish for views.
@@geoffallan It's still solid content, just easier to digest and you get more views to boot. Basically win win.
@@geoffallan Perhaps both would be ideal- similar to how podcasts put out clips/chunks, and whole episodes. I appreciate your integrity, and I imagine it must be quite the juggling act trying to balance that with algorithm manipulation- but for what it's worth, work that algorithm! You guys deserve all the eyeballs you can get, so long as you never become, "You'll NEVER believe..." 😂
@@Nick-sy2nm I hate those click-bait titles but these videos could definitely be shortened to three ten minute videos, I think the main reason is that they are so detailed with a lot of info just pausing it won't help my sponge absorb all that info.
Very entertaining. Great job putting this together. I learned so much.
I have just come across this site, and I was impressed. Well done.
Thank you very much for your hard work and fantastic presentation, Zack!
Nice work, I really enjoyed that!! Thank you
Thank you. Great channel with lots of information
Just ran across your channel, great analysis I appreciate. New sub.
shortening the arms will make it easier... less force on the ends, more stable when the booster makes contact.
Well yes because if it lands on the end instead of making contact with the arms it will make contact with the ground now.
@@boostav I can't wait for the first one to make contact with the ground ;-) the failures offer more spectacle then the succes
Excellent. Glad I finally found you
Well where has this channel been for the last decade? SUBBED!
This is fantastic content; love the depth and detail provided.
Love the humor and level of detail!
Water tank obsession can be a good thing. Great work in running that down, Zack!
Dude I appreciate the hell out of your videos. I always looked for someone who went *really* into detail on starbase stuff. MH and NasaSpaceflight are all nice but a bit rushed on details. I/We create content as well and I know full well how much damn work a 36 Minute video is. Keep it up, you'll blow up soon enough.
Thanks. Takes quite a long time to put these episodes together.
From one engineer to another, I am so pumped for you being right about the "I told you so".
Ok... my feed is swamped with SpaceX/ starship wannabe channels, most of which are useless. This is the first in a long time that actually taught me things u didn't already know. Great job! Keep it up!
Just wanted to say having found your channel how impressed I am
I am a blind subscriber and your dialogue is absolutely perfect thank you very much
Cheers
Hi Verne, we work very hard with the audio, it makes us very happy it works for you. Is the music too loud, enjoyable or even necessary? Your opinion would be much appreciated.
@@geoffallan that’s a good question some channels are not so aware I had to go back to check the music levels and they were just fine most appreciated I just wish your channel covered the launch vehicle as well with such great audio descriptions cheers
@@vernepavreal7296 Thanks for your reply. We tend to deep dive details other channels don't touch, we are all about bringing the space community together and appreciate what other channels cover. For example, we didn't dissect the B7 mishap this week because it's already been done well by Scott Manley and felt Marcus House would too.
What fantastic detailed research and reporting you have done!
I ran 18 crews of boilermakers for 23 years building all kinds of tanks and vessels...you are right on with your observations and assumptions.
A great channel that I just discovered.
I just subscribed, because I like facts, not click bait and you are dead on target. Thanks for your efforts. Your use of photos is superb and we know a picture is worth a thousand words - even more with your wonderful highlighting marking! Thanks again - you are a master!
Thank you!!! I appreciate the feedback a ton. Is there any chance you may have came across a heat exchanger like the one I mentioned in here?
Finally, at 20:41. Start of water tank design and failure. Great info, video and analyses. I was rather surprised that the seam failure was so high up.
Love in depth videos like this just incredible, liked & subbed! 🚀
Great analysis! Love these videos!
Fascinating analysis of the water tank situ!
Mad props, you deliver better content than channels 10x your size.
Appreciate the breakdown of all these features. Thanks
awesome investigation! So much fun to watch... also learning a lot
thank you dude. Good work. very impressed.
Came here from Terran Space Academy! Great videos! Keep up the awesome work!
Awesome investigation and insights! You deserve more subs :)
