Top 5 Suit Mistakes + Fixes
1. Wearing the wrong size suit - shop at a place like Suit Supply who are trained to fit you properly in your new suit. They understand how your suit should fit you. Also size down which will require less tailoring.
2. Not getting your suit tailored properly - a common area neglected is the pants. They simply can’t be hemmed because proportions are not proper. Alterations have made a huge difference for Alpha - and he’s learned all about this since he’s been going to Suit Supply.
3. Not matching properly - you need to coordinate colors and patterns. Your outfit should never be louder than your personality - pick two or three colors then tone it down.
4. Not removing the sleeve and vent stitching - the front pocket stitch will also need to be removed for a pocket square. You can also remove the pocket stitches.

Bright and colorful doesn't necessarily mean loud. Flowers are bright and colorful, but they don't scream at me, give me anxiety, or take up space.

Loud could be very short trousers with neon socks, or a 8 button double breast, or some unique italian piece no one really wears, etc. More conservative people should stick with simple conservative suits, blacks or simple tones not any patterns (def not houdstooth lol). simpler pocket squares and tie designs, simple pleats
A few years ago I bought two suits from another provider and had them tailored, a first for me. I'll say just simply TAILORING your suit will make you feel like a million bucks, you don't know what you're missing if you're not tailoring your suits!

It all depends how much tailoring your suit needs everybody body is different you can go for a consultation and they’ll tell you how much it’ll cost before you commit to having it done.

Alpha, are we supposed to wear a belt along with a suit? I have read that wearing a belt sort of brings a break. That is why even James Bond ditched his belt lol. What do you think?
Belts are definitely good to go with suits. BUT! It's super important that the belt leather is matching with your shoes, brutha.
Satkirat Walla While it is true, that a belt causes a break to your suit, it is not such a significant problem. So feel free to wear a belt to your suit. However, if you‘re going custom, I would recommend you to opt for side adjusters and suspender buttons instead of belt loops.

For reals... my arms aren't MASSIVE but usually I have to size up 1-size cause my biceps. I should get size 50, but usually have to get a 52.
I dont like my suits tight so i get them a slight bit bigger and it just looks weird to have the shirt longer than the jacket

Preface. I wear a suit everyday and I dress with a 1940s drape cut style.... I have to give props for having a modern fit suit without the bad design elements like unporportioned lapels

@@smoothm6539 it's called a "spalla con rollino" you find it normally only on neapolitan bespoke tailoring. Looks great imo but it's a bold move. Personally I prefer a pleated spalla alla camicia.
Italian suits have padded shoulders. It’s not that noticeable on his one.

Well The Rock is big but he has a great body shape with broad shoulders and a (relatively) tapered waist, so he will look great in a well tailored jacket.
More challenging is making somebody whose waist is larger than their chest look good. I’m not sure it’s possible.

Thank you! Every chest / measurement was clearly too small, given the lapels on every guy were bowing out. I couldn't NOT notice and think: "this is really a no-no with fitting."

Wearing an overly tailored suit is the worst look though. Yeah it fits good but being so tight around the waist and overly padded around the shoulders looks really tacky

I wish this video came out like half a year ago, that was when i and the rest of my (Idk What its called in english but every class of the 9th grade) had a goodbye party with all 9th grade students and the teachers and whatnot.
