- Thanks for watching!
Just replaced this alternator today, diagnosed issue was for alternator failure. Alternator would start charging over 17 volts. Was causing vehicle to loose power as the modules cannot operate properly at this voltage.
Like Many Nissan Vehicles the AC compressor holds the alternator captive and requires it to be unbolted and lowered out of the way.

After over 10 videos, this one is THE one, thanks for all the tips, they all help. My tip is to rotate conterclowise ~ 150 degrees and the alternator comes straight out.
Haha good deal! I’ll remember that on the next one!
Thanks for watching!
Stumbled here after running out with my jump box on my daughter-in-law's Murano, LOL. I loved your craftsmanship and ability to articulate a process like this. You are absolutely correct in regards to ASE certification. I myself was certified in some areas and was a mechanic in the AF. However, my heart was never in it, and thus I would never really be more than functional at best as a technician. I would say that if I had access to this level of influence back in the day it would have made a HUGE difference, and I might have actually become passionate about the craft. Keep doing what you do!
Hey thank you so much for your feedback! It’s starting to become to clear to me I need to make more videos!
Haha that’s great, I was Ammo myself, longtime tech long before I enlisted and still got a non mechanical job!
Great video! Very indepth! You are a great mechanic
As a woman who knows nothing about cars...Thank you for showing everything little by little and calling out tools by names then showing them. I am going to attempt to change it out by myself today I really appreciate the visual learning experience! I hope I get it all done with no issues!
Good luck, you got it! Feel free to reach out if you need any assistance!
Great video I have to tackle my wife’s alternator and this video was very well done and helped me figure out the best way to do this job. Thanks!
Actually just finished the job last night thanks for sharing this content. I had to find just the right position but it finally came out. Had the unit rebuilt and she is back on the road.
Thanks brother. Well done. Made my job easy easy cake walk. Thank you thank you
Awesome! So glad to have helped! I definitely need to make some more of these videos 😅
I loosened the front subframe bolts (21mm) to drop the subframe 1 1/2" and the alternator came out easily. Maybe the motor mounts on this 276K mile car were sagging making it too tight to come out. I did all the other steps, AC compressor, coolant pipe, the same otherwise.
The 3 wire connector was so crispy that the connector retainer tab broke trying to get it unplugged from the alternator. I put a glob of RTV sealant (Permatex Ultra-Gray) between the connector and alternator when finished to make sure it stays on.
The radiator core support is made of some fiberglass composite, rubbing my forearms on it working from the top made my skin break out in hives. I used masking tape to pull the fiberglass from my skin. Had I known I'd have taped or covered that area to save my arms.
An auto engineer will jump over 10 naked women to screw one auto mechanic, this we know!
That’s definitely not something I have run into all that often! Good job on your solution!
Fantastic video dude- helped me out greatly! Keep it up.
Great video but that is a real pain in the rump
Great video my friend appreciate you taking the time so us diy ers can save a buck or 2
Awesome! Very glad I could be of assistance!
Only pro tip here is don't do it this way. Take the fans out and take it out the top. Makes me.wanna pull.my hait out.watchkng u struggle.
Okay, but you have to discharge the A/C and remove the condenser. 😂
