Hard to get to that level of performance unless i'd really, really understand how Eddie felt when he went thru it, i have an idea but watching him transport himself back to when it happened as he was singing this makes me realize that level is something else. Loved the reacrion, someone who knows the technical details but still enjoyed it as most of us did n not dissecting the little nuisances or technicalities which is okay too but a performance like this is just to enjoy. Thanks
Pearl Jam is one of the "bands of my life", i listened to them since i was a teenager and now with 44 are still my favs...and this song...i can't possibly start to tell you what this song means to me. And you were right when you said Eddie is like an "expose nerve" and he sing trough his emotions. I´m very glad that you reacted to this painfull but beautiful song. Black is the number 1 song for heartbreaks. thank you for sharing this. Greetings from Argentina :)
Hi Argentina! Greetings from Canada! I agree with everything you said. Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder are very personal for me, too. They live in the soul and marrow. I am 39 and they have been in my soul for my entire lifetime
Hello Argentina and Canada. New York City here. I just turned 50 and just like people can't imagine their lives without certain people, be it family or friends, I honestly cannot imagine my life without Pearl Jam. I don't think I can say that about any other band.
I dont think I've seen a better vocal coach reaction to Ed. You are spot on about him being a raw exposed nerve on stage. His passion is undeniable. Seeing PJ live is a surreal experience. I once heard Ed say, if I don't feel it, I'm not going to sing it.
When Eddie adds certain vocal choices, it's like seeing tiny glimpses into his soul..it was a pleasure to watch your reaction to this..what an awesome smile!!
Spot on! "The way he plays with intonation"! Love your analysis of the performance, (as an art form, although you stopped short of proclamation). When Eddie slides into the background harmony, thrusting it to the forefront. Then peals away to slam those final emotional gutteral cry's. Anyone who has suffered heartache instantly reconnects on a primal, existential level. Genius!!! Again OUTSTANDING reaction, covering much passed by for other reactors.
I really enjoyed your reaction, you are right on!! Eddie Vedder has always been performing like a exposed nerve, every performance he put all his feelings into it, passion and emotion and anger!! That's why I love Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam, the whole band is absolutely amazing!! 😊💓
Great reaction, Eddie almost seems like a musical theater or Shakespearean/Greek actor, he uses his intonation so well, it almost seems conversational, just without all the BS social "Cover" we so often use when talking with others...he's putting it all out there, even if you can't understand what he is saying, you can feel it...
I love your interpretation of Eddie's singing. It explains exactly why I am so attracted to his style of singing. Very unique and different and timeless.
It’s called building cherished decent…. The video even embraces it. Like a a cherished and diminished chore style. His ability to be able to play with the way his voice works is magical, last person I saw that could that was Phoebe Sno. There is a magic to this, cuz his band mates know, how to accent him. He also knows this.
Love it! You are totally right about the way he sings to connect to people. I think it's something that Nai Palm does really well too - you should check out her cover of Electric Ladyland at paste studios!
I've watched so many reactions to this video. So many! This one is my favorite. You are great. Awesome stuff sir. Thank you. (Giant Pearl Jam fan) I was 15 when this aired and my buddy and I planned a sleepover to watch them)... Again, thanks man.
Love Eddie and your insights! Just subscribed and watching your old reactions. Would love to see u react to my fave and a friend of Eddie’s, Chris Cornell. Either Like a Stone unplugged at AOL or When I’m Down live at the Troubadour. Both just melt me and have such interesting techniques 😊❤
i think you should react to Il Volo's Grande Amore, which is an italian trio, "grande amore" means "big love". Really Il Volo is something you won't find anywhere else. They have a pop singer, a rock singer, and a classically trained singer in this group. Very interesting to listen to and watch
Hello, thank you for the video. I advise you to make, if you haven't done it yet, a reaction to the wonderful young singer Diana Ankudinova. This girl will surprise you with her artistry and rare timbre of voice. She has covers of famous songs, and also performs her own songs.
11:29 He did make a mistake in the lyrics actually, not far into the song, but it didn't throw him off at all. I love this guy, I have since the first time I heard him.
Hello! I loved your Dimash reactions and comments! Dimash just performed three original songs (Stranger, Fly Away, and Ave Maria) at New Wave 2021 last week. They are amazing. Can you please check them out? Thanks!
I have watched your videos and something you have said several times is that is not just the musical skills but the performance skills that matter the most. The same note can sound either dull or bright depending on the performance. With that in mind I would love if you could react to Marillion’s The invisible Man (here’s the link ua-cam.com/video/ePZAujUknYs/v-deo.html) heartbreaking performance by Steve Hogarth. His voice is spot on, but his facial expression and body language take the song to another level. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did
Great commentary. Couldn't agree more! Auto tune would indeed rob the song of it's emotional urgency. This is his BEST live performance in my opinion. Eddie is a master of expressing HIS emotion through a song and connecting to other peoples emotions. He's a beautiful and unique poet. And yes, he has the best mmmmmm's I ever heard. Sexy, just as he is here. :) This is a performance I will always go back to. I'm the same age as Eddie but this will always be my favorite performance. I never liked perfection or even the idea of it. There's so much more beauty and substance in our imperfection as human beings. Eddie knows this.
I live your reaction videos! I would like to see you react to the late JONGHYUN of the Korean band, Shinee. He did a cover of Gloomy Letter, that I find to be 🔥. Please give your reaction.
The lowest note that baekhyun sang was A2 in the love, love music of the exo group, and the highest note that C6 sang in all i got. Please listen to King Vocal.
baekhyun is one of the best kpop soloists. He has a very strong vocal.hurt.all i got and bambi baekhyun is very good. The man has a wide range of voices and can read very strong notes. hurt rock music bambi Sol jazz music all i got R&B music cry for love R&B
Please react.to the no.1 boy band of the Philippines called sb19 in their live performance. They are known to have good vocals and were nominated along with Bts, Ariana Grande and blackpink in billboard music awards as top social artist
Pearl Jam is nice and I wish I could sing like this... I'm a rock and metal guy at heart... but after the Jacob Collier reactions, this kind of feels like going from a 4 star Michelin restaurant to Chipotle. I love Chipotle, but the insane musicality of people like Jakob, is so next level, that I hope you do more of his stuff or virtuosos like him.
Could you please react to Willow (Smith)'s performances? Preferably her performance of her song Lipstick. She put out an entire rock album and despite the hype, no one has reacted to her live vocals. I'd love for you to start the trend
Hard to get to that level of performance unless i'd really, really understand how Eddie felt when he went thru it, i have an idea but watching him transport himself back to when it happened as he was singing this makes me realize that level is something else.

Eddie's voice brings me literally to tears at least once a show....
When Eddie adds certain vocal choices, it's like seeing tiny glimpses into his soul..it was a pleasure to watch your reaction to this..what an awesome smile!!

Love that the out-take still made it in haha
One of the all time great voices!!!!
Love that you kept the blooper! I always enjoy your videos, John. You are not afraid to show your emotions and I appreciate that.

Eddie is one of the best vocalists ever. His bass baritone is amazing!
What a talent that is definitely God given. Enjoy it!! Thanks!!
Brilliant band.and great analysis !
👍👍 love Pearl Jam
Absolutely brilliant reaction...
In the past I've heard a pearl Jam song on the radio and I know exactly who it is by his voice no one sounds like him brilliant
Honestly I think Pearl jam's Unplugged is one of the best.
It’s called building cherished decent…. The video even embraces it. Like a a cherished and diminished chore style. His ability to be able to play with the way his voice works is magical, last person I saw that could that was Phoebe Sno. There is a magic to this, cuz his band mates know, how to accent him. Still… there is a part of me that feels he learned to sing like this, only from his soul..
Love it! You are totally right about the way he sings to connect to people. I think it's something that Nai Palm does really well too - you should check out her cover of Electric Ladyland at paste studios!
New subscriber 🧡🧡🧡 It was wonderful to see a vocal coach REALLY ENJOY the music while breaking it down.
Great reaction! Love watching this song reacted to. Sure I've seen in triple figures by now. Tnx
Same, I actually search for reactions to this performance.

The unsung hero in this performance from Pearl Jam is Jeff Ament's hat...
Fail, and also pass
This and Nirvana Unplugged are probably two of the best performances of the decade.
so good
What a great reaction vid.Good work man.
Glad you enjoyed
Can you do Mark Anthony.Love how you do your takes on voices. of any language.Awesome!
Love your content. If you haven't heard of Jordan Rakei, I bet you would love his voice.

Please, make a reaction to the songs of the singer Diana Ankudinova.
i like how you technically react to emotional songs not technical songs necessarily
Thank you!
Dynamics is everything. Not only in rock but in all kinds of music. That's why Led Zeppelin were 1 step ahead of everyone else.
Would love to hear you do falling by harry styles. I'm a big grunge guy, but that song transcends genre.
Love your reactions.

In contrast to Dimash…could you please react to hoogie boogie man by Geoff Gestellucci?
Autotune is NOT music OR talent! Maybe I'm just too old, I like the human voice and it's imperfections and passion.
it was Eddie's voice. the Imitators just sounded like they were straining to take a dump.
Hey man you should react to Lala Hathaway and Snarky Puppy's 'Something'
Can you please make a video reacting to Soobin ft SlimV - The Playah? This singer is really popular in Vietnam, wish you could react to him
